Yeah the Stones was busy but there was a surprising amount of room closer to the stage. The chair brigade near the front basically take up enough room for 3-4 standing people with each chair and a lot of them didnt stand up until just before the band came on.

Including the Karen who was tut tutting at people for standing around here.

That said, one girl in the group beside us went for pints during the Stones (we were in between the sound stage and pit) and she came back an hour later soaked with a tray of mostly empty pints. Think she took a direct route back from the cider bus, back to front of the field. An absolute cretin.

I remember The Stones back in 2013, I think I watched about 3 bands to get a good spot, Elvis Costello, Primal Scream etc. but it was still pretty reasonable before them and you could get a good spot easily. I think I'm gonna risk it this year and try to get a good spot for Macca the last minutes. Let's see how we go. I'm not fussed.

Looking like a done deal, luckily for us.

Cannot wait. Her live sets look so much fun. If you’re into Charli XCX have you looked at Hannah Diamond? Think she’d be right up your street.

Well I was planning on strapping a disco light to my head, using my phone and Bluetooth speaker to make a mini disco in a long drop. Playing mainly 80s pop mixed with banging techno with flamingo squark samples over the top.

so if your having a poo and hear some beats from the cubicle next door, it’s me.

This is the greatest idea I’ve ever heard

I forget, which of the two was the "this one goes out to the pretty ladies" act? ?

That would be Kool & The Gang and yeah, good tunes but their stage “banter” was cringe af. Old dudes talking about pretty ladies, not a good look.

    Uh?

I can't say I'm hugely familiar with the acts on the bill, but had a decent listen to the official playlist at the weekend and I can't remember there being any rock or indie at all.

    Yeah.

Going for the first time and I wouldn’t really count any bands I’ve heard as indie or rock. Dhafer Youssef is about as non indie as it gets!

  8. The reason why this is a fantastic booking is because it gives a MASSIVE middle finger to the bedwetters & soft boys hoping for Foals, Thom Yorkshire Pudding and Fleetwood Mac this year. Glastonbury bookers have clearly gone out of their way to book whatever the fuck they like and as a result it’s one of the most diverse festival line ups in recent times.

Bad weather means theatre and circus fields aren't as much fun. Was brilliant in 2017 being able to sit on the grass and watch all the cool random stuff that happens there.

    Mud ruins everything. Especially glud!

    Just catching up.

Definitely this - 2016 was a miserable time for the circus fields. Half the stages were shut which meant that performers who probably travelled quite far to play - couldn't! Fuck you mud.
