^ take note Scottie and add them to the rumours list if not done so already.
;-)
From pre-sale email I received:
"...legendary falsetto Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, who have sold over 100 million records worldwide and defined the sound of an era with classic hits like: Walk Like A Man, Sherry, Cant Take My Eyes Off You, Rag Doll, Big Girls Dont Cry and many more.
Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons are proud to announce a four date UK tour in June/July 2015 - which takes in two London dates at the Royal Albert Hall on June 29th/30th where they will be accompanied by the London Symphony Orchestra..."

Anyone in here like Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons? I'm speculating Legends slot for next year!
Well, they've just confirmed 4 UK dates for June 2015 inc in Manchester on Fri 26th and then in London Mon 29th so that leaves a nice gap to play the Saturday or possibly the main stage Sunday tea-time Legends slot? ;-)
Wadda u reckon?

Howdy fellow Alchemists.
I've not been on these boards for a while and nor do I do that many festivals a year.
But was great to be at Alchemy Festival again and meet old friends & new ones alike.
I think that was my 4th year on the trot (or possibly 5th I can't remember) and WOW what a great one it was again too.
ALCHEMY is such a great little festival with a great vibe I wish I could bottle that atmosphere. I love the old school, and sort of; can't find the right word; disorganised or 'whatever' kind of vibe that's how laid back it is.
Full on dance tent plus 2 other smaller tents for the ravers and lots of full bands on 4 smaller stages covering a good blend of folk, reggae, ska, Dub, punk etc and in a very laid back atmosphere there's always something good to see and often something new too if you do actually catch some of the music. I spent an entire evening in the woods being plied with cocktails which was fun too. And the cycle powered stage in a hidden glade end of the woods is always great fun too.
And yes 2014 was superb and probably my best one yet. Although the late nights are taking their toil on me! LOL

Hi all, this is my 1st post in ages and I've not been on these boards (blame FB & couldn't remember log-in details).
The Something Else festivals have been on my radar for ages although I've not been to any yet. Alot of my Festy Friends have been to all 3 and I hear great feedback, in particular the SEitD which loads of my friends went to and from hearing the feedback and seeing photos & comments elsewhere it does look very appealing to me. Very small, old school, laid back festival and Gail the lady that runs it is a great character with a great team behind her. I've meet many of them on the festival circuit either in a tea tent or around a fire at silly O'clock and a good vibe from like minded people that I know I'd enjoy the Something Else festivals too. If only I could do more festivals than the real world & family commitments allow!
But 1 or 2 of these Something else festivals are even more on my radar for next year!

Also worth noting that previous years have seen many acts do both HRC & Glasto the same weekend.
From memory Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young (& I think Kings of Leon) but they've headlined both more so than appear as special guests on The Park.
Recent years the Park Special guests have included The Klaxons, Radiohead's Thom & Johnny, Dizzie Rascal (i think was a special guest year b4 he did main stage). Umm plus who else??
I'm off to look up previous line-ups of HRC.... ;-)

Hi all, I've not been on these forums for quite a while but with Glasto approaching I thought I'd pop back in for a bit. Plus this topic caught my eye as several eFesters were Glastobating this very subject on FaceBook.
I note with interest that The Killers AND The Kaiser Chiefs are both playing Hyde Park on the FRI night of 'Hard Rock Calling'
Note link for full line-up: http://www.hardrockcalling.co.uk/2011/lineup/
And The Kaiser Chiefs are also doing Glasto; remind me is it the Sat or Sun night; on The Other Stage.
So either: 1) KC bloke got muddled on 6Music & he thinking of HRC with The Killers
Or 2) Killers have gotta be nailed on as one of the Special Guests for The Park?
Or 3) just might mean one of the Las Vegas lot might join KC on stage at Glasto for a duet or something as is often the case on The Other Stage in recent years (ive seen loads of collaborations for just 1 or 2 songs)
...you decide!...

All 10 are nice photos, but for the humour element to make ya smile, it's gotta be between no.7 & no.8
...and of course the cider cups sway my vote. ;-)

I just want to say a big thank you to everybody I was chatting with on facebook. The friends I have made on these forums who I am now friends with on facebook really pulled out all the stops to help everybody. It was a real team effort and I'm honoured and grateful that you are my friends. I can't wait to share a couple of pints of cider with you all in a field in Pilton next year.
Big shout out to Debbie who got my ticket aswell as for lots of other friends
Without facebook today I think my luck would have ran out and my hair gone grey!

Lily Allen's live version of 'Gangster' please Neil from Glasto 2007. I know you share the love!
Failing that I'll live with The Specials original version
You're bound to have that amongst the 35k+ selection ;-)
Plus The Beat 'Stand Down Margaret'

I reckon virtually all 30 people I know were ticketed by 8.55 last year. I wasn't but I refreshed the page twice after it changed and had let me on cos I was a bit pished!

Those going to Wireless this weekend enjoy. I'm not! But Im currently plotted near Hyde Park and it is very muggy. So it gonna be nice & warm for tonight if the rain holds off!!
My niece was super keen to see Jay-Z but tickets very hard to get hold of. Or at least at a sensible price anyway. Can't believe tickets for him are like gold dust but been reminded what a huge entourage he has it is no wonder!
I was there in 2008 & saw Jay-Z headline. Whilst he is a great performer & one of the best at that genre, after 45 mins I couldn't take any more mother f**king this & mother f**king that!
Enjoy tho peeps!

Myself & fellow Thurs traveller arrived Glasto and were frantically phoning mate at 3pm to arrange rendevouz in Pennards. (our mate TimeSpeedsUp had arrived Wed so we had to meet him)
The drive down from Harrow via Hampshire ( J4a of M3) was surprisingly easy & as so many peeps had arrived Tues night & Wed we got in car park very quickly. But f**k me wasn't it a hike from the West car parks to campsite!? Such a long walk this year! Further than previous years & the one thing thar put me off.
Anyone else??
-
female that has performed before but not headlined.... anyone thinking Lady Gaga?
-
But my real answer:
The Flaming Lips - Other Stage Fri headliner
New Model Army - Fri night Arcadia
Dub Pistols - Dance West Sat
Neville Staple - Dance West Sat
The Levellers - Glade Sun night
& I could just as easily include any of the following:
3 Daft Monkeys (for Thurs night set Avalon Cafe)
Hobo Jones & Junkyard Dogs - opening Avalon Stage Fri
Florence & The Machine - Other Stage Fri
The Orb - Glade Sat Pm
Dreadzone - Glade Sat eve +/or late Sat night 2am in The Rabbit Hole
The Beat - Sun Pm
Faithless - Sun eve
-
I thought the "Top Five ACTS" that I saw over the weekend as follows:
1) Wayne Rooney
2) Emile Heskey
3) Glenn Johnson
4) John Terry
5) Gareth Barry
Edit: & to think I missed Ray Davies cos of that shite performance against Germany!!!
-
Saw most of their set in the end after originally going to see Gorillaz, as had decided to stick with the group of people I was with.
We walked away from Gorillaz 4songs in as no one was enjoying it at all.
I managed to convince them to watch The Flaming Lips and they were really good. Having been listening to the songs they were likely to play, I think I enjoyed it more than my mates (but they still enjoyed it themselves).
Had bloody Yoshimi in my head for days now though
-
basically 2 of our group had an unfortunate experience...
and in the saturdays q daily, there was a picture of slash and a quote over the picture saying something along the lines of "use the festival toilets? i used to go in my pants"
if anybody can scan it for me, or find a virtual copy already uploaded somewhere, that would be fantastic, as i am going to tag it to them on facebook.
you should be able to work out what happened
No more Beady Eye...

Does that include Gem?
I'm of opinion it don't.
