  1. I saw The Deep Blue at All Points East in 2022 and they were not very good, didn't sound much like the recordings. Early days though so may have improved since then.

Kingfishr, on the other hand, I thought were naff on record but really enjoyable live at Barn on the Farm. It's a bit sub-Mumford/Bear's Den but they do it well.

Can’t find any set lists for her. Does she do much All Saints stuff or any of the songs she’s written for others?

Her first solo gig is next month at Jazz Cafe. She's then got Mighty Hoopla and a gig with Sugababes & Melanie C before Glasto so we'll know what her setlists are looking like then.

New single with Shola Ama & General Levy is a banger though.

Personally I hope Avalon now stays away from the novelty pop acts. It looks like they are now being given slots on bigger stages and pulling huge crowds in many cases. Leave Avalon to be one of the few places with folk/rock/punk stuff on.

Well we've just had the rumour that the evil Lulu is playing there so you're out of luck.

I know we're 99% that they are on at Holts, but if for some reason they aren't I'm gutted that they aren't playing anywhere in the North of the UK.  Fingers crossed for more dates.

they're literally on the poster for West Holts so aren't we 100% sure they are there?

One of the most underrated songwriters ever IMO.  Build still gives me chills every time I hear it.  And an all round thoroughly good bloke.  Shame he's a dirty blade (Sheff Utd fan.)

Great song. It's used in All Of Us Strangers so perfectly as well.

It seems that i only got so easily into Skindred and ho99o9 at the truth stage thursday last year cos everyone else was stuck in the crowds at bloody Example ffs 😁 happy with that as a going plan this year, hang around the SE corner cos most people are flocking to the glade

I did Example and then Skindred/Ho99o9/Alt Blk Era with Bimini on Greenpeace in-between all with ease.

Crowd crust is a real issue - there was so much space around the right side of the Glade when Example was on. Could maybe do with stewards directing people into the gaps.

Having said that, I think Faithless on Glade Thursday is a disaster waiting to happen. I'll be staying well away.

Although a lot of the lineup is banging, I’m not so much of a fan of them putting acts like Peggy Gou and Fatboy Slim headlining there now instead of acts we used to associate with the Park. Feels like, much like Holts of recent years, the unique identity is slipping in favour of it just being another stage at the festival.

Small quibble mind - hope to spend a fair bit of time there. Barry Can’t Swim seems destined to be the ‘why the f**k are they playing that stage so early with little competition’ act of the festival. Will be heaving.

I think this is just the festival responding to shifts in what the audience wants. Even on here, I read so many comments about headliners needing "bangers" or for it to be a "party" so it makes sense that more dance acts are going to end up in those slots.

Peggy Gou is an interesting choice - does she play live or is it a dj set? Will be busy for her regardless, I'm sure.

Why have they clashed idles and Fontaines? Please move Fontaines DC to Saturday night. Are they definitely both Friday night headliners? Park will be empty as same fans will be at Idles. Makes no sense at all.

Apparently, Idles were booked very last minute - possibly as recent as last week - after they had to do some switching around. I don't think this clash was intentional.  Huge crossover there which will eat into both crowd sizes.

One thing with this booking a 50/50 female/male split, why clash two female options on the two biggest stage. It's become apparent that Janelle and Avril will both clash. That means half a set at Janelle then over as Avril is a no brainer.

Why is that different to clashing two male options? This is exactly what should be happening with a balanced gender split. Female isn't a genre.

Last night went to Say She She at The Ritz. They were fantastic. Voices in fine form. Lovely Talking Heads cover. The crowd well up for it. Great to see them doing so well.

They were supported by Nia Wynn from North Wales who also sounded good.

Also saw Say She She over the weekend, although Bristol. Brilliant gig - great fun live.

Nia Wynn was not for me though - very Rag N Bone Man type 'soul'. Could see them doing well with that sort of crowd though.

That’s the latest I’ve heard but hoping it’s a fluid situation that changes as dying to see them.

As per all the other bits I’ve been told, I have no idea how dynamic things get between poster and set times, so imagine there’s a chance that days/orders could change.

Hey Little Thief, have you heard anything about Anohni & the Johnsons playing?
