  1. Packed all my gear last night! Just need to get a few bits and bobs tomorrow and then we're off on Saturday morning :)

See yous down the beach on mon, tue & wed nights. If you see a bunch of sunburt, drunken Scottish folk with some guitars near the Torreón it'll probably be us! unless we can't be arsed walking down that far, in that case we'll be straight down from the festival site/hotel orange.

  2. Just read up on the campsite and rules http://fiberfib.com/rules-for-the-use-of-the-campfest-camping-area/

No gazebos, some shaded areas with awnings, some with trees, other areas with nada. We're just bringing a tarp as we heard each area has poles so we should be able to put it up above us for some shade if we don't get a shaded area. Was thinking of just putting up a wee shitty dummy tent to keep us a bit if space and to put stuff in. But if anyone is struggling for space we'll be more than happy to move it, Laura? It's just my gf, her brother and me camping. There's another 8 in a villa so they'll be up during the festival to get refreshed on cheap booze when there's no decent bands on. Plan on keeping bevvy in the car that doesn't need chilled.

  3. Can't believe theres only a few weeks left! Anyone have experience using the train from/to madrid? Will I have any trouble if I just show up at the station to buy a ticket? Seems like most people aren't coming in from Madrid so I'd like to think those trains won't be too much of a hassle to get on.

  4. Going for the first time this year with 2 female friends really looking forward to getting away from all this rain flying into Valencia on sunday :)

    couple of questions

how strict are they on cameras in the arena for dslr's?

are there lockers in the camp site or just in the arenas?

    cheers :)

  5. Awww cheers buddy! :P Really have no intention of sleeping in our tent, it's just for all our stuff anyway. Are there lockers anywhere in the arena/campsite? Read something about them having certain times and such, which is a bit shite

  6. So im freakin out a little about the heat! Any tips around getting some actual sleep at any point in the week?

Also if anyone has a spare cool floor in their apartmens to pimp out for a couple of hours, I will probably pay good money on the 4th day!!

  7. I'm all for the try before you buy method, I'm sure we'll be fiiiiine :)

As we're spending a few days in Barcelona before, we won't get into Benicassim till thursday afternoon...and by the sounds of it that means we're fucked for camping space, yeah? Brilliant!

  8. I tweeted @fiberfib asking about stage times and they said they will be up on the site on Monday 9th. They used to be up earlier and i made clashfinders but i'll already be drunk and on the beach by that point. They must have got wise to it to make sure we buy those lanyard thingys, boooo.

  9. How tough is it to get booze sneaked in to the main site? I've always been pretty successful with my Hiking Water Sack and a "conveniently placed" 500ml bottle of spirits at other festivals (Bestival, Big Chill, Leeds, V, T, Kendal) but not sure what the deal is with Benicassim.

Are we talking the full airport grope-fest or the typical half-arsed "pat the pockets, check the bags, send ya through" business?

Just so I know, cheers all :-)

  10. I now feel like a bit of a tit for saving as much money as I have...I've really only allocated money for alcohol and baccy, and the odd packet of Lidl crisps. I'm taking about a grand on a prepay card thingy but only because I'm in Barcelona for a few days before and I'm terrified the euro fucks me over, don't wanna be one of those shitbags that has to phone "the bank of mummy and daddy"...

But if I've totally overestimated how much I need to have, then the drinks are on me. If you can find me. If you like water.

  11. There are plenty of cash machines/banks. Bring some cash with you and use your debit/credit card to lift more when needed. It's only a couple of quid charge, just like some of the machines in the uk!

For anyone that hasn't been before, Benicassim is a Spanish holiday town for Spaniards so it's well equipped for tourists. Just try and speak a little Spanish and don't be the typical ignorant British c*nt abroad! Even if it's something as simple as dos cerveza :)

Anyone camping, buy a cool box for cold beers in the morning!

  12. ok so some of my mates were pretty late in getting tickets for beni this year so we've got no flights sorted or anything.

what airport should we be flying to?

and where should we book trains/buses/transfers from (website)?

any help would be greatly appreciated!
