How is it promoting racial hatred?

And sure if someone is out on the streets telling people to kill gay people, aggressively recruiting people to teach them the ways that gays are dangerous and should be killed then yes.

Anyone promoting hatred on others with the i tent of harming them should be incarcerated or at the least institutualized.

Would that not worry you or do you think someone should die before you take action?

You do realise that these things are against the law as it stands don't you?

You seem to be suggesting locking people up for their views and that is what people are objecting too. I've no objection to locking up those who have crossed the line into either preparing to murder or inciting other to murder but the law already precludes this further more the law precludes membership of organisations the promote or glorify terrorism.

How much further do you want to go with this.

One, no one preaching hate and condoning terrorism being jailed or deported is going to effect me negatively.

Two, im not gonna suffer for it because I dont preach about killing people or want to associate with a terrorist organisation.

So, I dont see what im sacrificing?

    Sure, they were terrorist murderers.

Just so we're clear you believe that during the 1980s the government should have impisoned the Archbishop of Canterbury and Annie Lenox for life

  4. People seriously suggesting life sentences/deportation for having the wrong 'views' it's amazing how little it takes for some people to go full fasc.

Shocking and terible as the as the recent events in Manchester and Westminster are terrorism is still an incredibly rare occurrence in Europe and statistically more people will be killed on British roads over the next 7 days than the number who lost their lives in Manchester.

Yeah, I went to that as well,, and have been in recent years. It's not like it used to be though.

Yeah it was never the same  after Go-Daigo was expelled from Kyoto by the northern dynasty. Far too commercial these days

    Oh yeh!!

    how could I forget!

Remember it being roasting hot now!  Also I remember sitting on the floor for Brian Wilson on the Sunday so it must have dried up reasonably quickly!

We hadn't good weather fire weeks before the festival and on the Wednesday and Thursday, the ground was absolutely solid until the storm came. Friday and Saturday where overcast and berry muddy but when the sun came out on the Sunday the mud dried up within hours in most places.

I'm trying to remember if there have ever been any years when it's been glorious weather in the lead up to the festival, but then suddenly rained quite a lot over the weekend?

I wasn't there but was 1998 a bit like that?

Wonder how the ground would hold up if that was to happen?

Oh no, I'm starting to think placebo thistle is a good idea again.

It's never bloody worked for me in the past. And here I am considering adding it to the list.

No you're absolutely right it's pointless stuff.

  10. Never camped in cockmil  but have camped in wicket.

Wicket is not as popular as cockmill so it's much more spacious and you don't need to arrive as early as you do to camp in cockmill.

It's close to gate A so if your arriving from the west it's much less of a walk.

Obviously it's further to walk to the kids field/pyramid but since the JP tent moved it's not as long as it used to be as the hospitality area is no longer in the way and the walk is much more pleasant (with the woods area as it is now) the JP move has also meant  you now feel more like you're camped in the festival than you used to.

The toilets  are very clean as is the campsite, the fried is always spotless on the Monday morning.

In in terms of who else can come in with you, I've camped there myself without my own child but with another couple with children and I've had other childless friends camp with me when I've been with my own daughter. The stewards seem relaxed to some extent about who can come is so I suspect a group of 4 adults and 3 children's shouldn't be an issue I've only ever seen large groups of adults without children denied entry.

I have them first thing when I get up.  It usually takes me a couple of hours to be able to face alcohol these days, however some research says that drinking within 6 hours of taking 5 htp can cause a bit of nausea. I can't recall if I've experienced that myself, or if it was just a standard hangover. Generally speaking, it isn't a good idea to take them later in the evening or when you've already indulged in whatever chemical takes your fancy

As for what they are and do;  5 htp is converted into serotonin, this is the neurotransmitter that (among other things) affects mood and emotion.  Drugs such as mdma, lsd, dmt work by increasing the amount of serotonin that your brain gets and as such, tends to deplete stores or temporarily burn out the receptors in your brain.  This is basically what a comedown is.  By taking 5 htp in the build up (and every morning) of the festival, it keeps the stock a little higher and takes the edge off somewhat.

There's been some arguments about their effectiveness, but at worst they are a placebo. Sometimes I've felt better after taking them not because they have worked, but I've taken some positive action in sorting out whatever turmoil I've put my body and mind through!

That said, it isn't the best idea to take 5 htp while still on mdma, as it's more likely to further burn you out, it's better to wait until the effects are fully worn off.

No at worst it may cause Serotonin syndrome

Change in H&S rules?  Wasn't there issues with mud last year?  could that have lead to the change in case we have a mud bath again

There was a middle barrier at other last year, and I'm pretty sure it was there in 15

It's definitely warmer this year. Since March 1st the daily high temp has only dipped below 10 degrees twice. Same period last year it barely rose above 10 degrees. Mid Feb to end of May are very different for this year to last. Hopefully that's a good sign and is a factor in the low water table as mentioned above.

You are wrong. To raise the threat level is a decision made by the sitting government. Which still exists. Parliament is there to pass laws. There is no change in law so no parliamentry oversight is needed.

TFW you're telling someone they're wrong, but getting it completely wrong yourself.

"The main functions of the UK Parliament are to:

Check and challenge the work of the Government (scrutiny)

    Make and change laws (legislation)

Debate the important issues of the day (debating)

Check and approve Government spending (budget/taxes)"

  15. Guys See and/or GF have definitely use the 'no more resales' and 'tickets will be re-absorbed'  lines in previous years when there have been resales May so don't write it off yet.

Crucially pretty dry just before the festival as well. We just need to be wary of that date range of rain between the 6th and 10th pushing too far out later.

As sad as this sounds, I'd be quite interested in collating weather forecasts for the next week, and then comparing them with the real weather afterwards to see which was most accurate. I'm not sure where you could find accurate weather stats for days that have already passed though?

  17. Sad news. Rember spending time in GM in the early 00s when the SE corner was not not really a thing and late night entertainment was not as prevalent, really fond memories of one particular early morning  where they had a show where a VJ//DJ cutting video loops live to create music that kind of thing is done quite a lot now but at the time it was like nothing I'd seen before.

Cheers for the update cerv. Was rather optimistically hoping that things were happening in the background between you and Glastonbury that you couldn't talk about and that you were linking up to create an official GlastoMap.

It's quite disappointing from Glastonbury; the map they provide is actually quite crap for a festival of it's size and GlastoMap was a brilliant alternative.

Since GFL don't want you to see it   you should definitely not look for cached versions of it on a populate web archive site.

Hmm.. I can't see anything illegal about it. We would all have to agree to the terms and conditions before we paid up. Not all that unlike a raffle really except you'd get refunded if you didn't win

I could only it being an issue if they didn't give a full refund to those that where unsuccessful as the system would then have to licensed and regulated as a lottery by the Gambling Commission

I assume you don't have an answer to my question I asked twice yesterday about how the festival could legally take ticket money from thousands of people until it is returned/they get a ticket?

I don't understand how it wouldn't be legal the festival takes a deposit to be entered into a ballot and by paying the deposit the buyer agrees to these terms.
