I watched her perform it at the Grammys and she actually seemed to cut a man's throat and then throw him sky high in the air. Then all ninjas came on and started sword-fighting one another. I'm really not sure if this is the sort of thing that Glastonbury should be encouraging.

Reckon Trav might come out with SZA.
  3. I've been listening to some Shania. Even the less familiar material is big chorus, hook-filled party music. She'll entertain people.
  4. A couple of wet years and underwhelming line-ups and the guaranteed instant sell-out will start to look a bit wobbly. A lot of folk take it for granted that it'll never stop, but I bet the festival themselves aren't so complacent.
  5. Cyndi's played before and I didn't hear much about her drawing an out of the ordinary crowd. Given the over-familiarity of the rest of the line up, a genuinely rare UK festival booking like Shania will result in a rammo field. Not that Lauper will struggle for numbers either tbh.
  6. Too soon to start writing the obituaries imho. They obviously had the ambition and wherewithal to try to land Madonna. That it didn't work out - for Glastonbury or anyone else for that matter - isn't really their fault. If 2025 represents a further downward slide then we'll see.
  7. It's cos she'll bring an enormous party vibe that Cyndi Lauper won't get within sniffing distance of.
  8. Saying I f**k with it = I like it.
  9. I f**k with Skeleton Tree tbh. It's the last couple of albums where he's d@bbed down hard.
  10. SZA improves the line up. She's one of the few genuinely great acts on there. Imagine we got the same undercard but topped off with Liam Gallagher or Kings of Leon....
  11. Clever move to keep this off the poster so that the crowds dont go f**king bananas.

Can't roast 2008 too hard given the f**king Gossip are also riding high and large on this year's line up.
  13. Wait - didn't realise this was the LCD Soundsystem thread. You'll be able to stroll in carrying three beers in each hand whilst they're coming onstage.
  14. Depends who's on, but by and large you can get in the pit any time for any act you want to see if you show up late in the set of the previous act.
  15. It's a better bit of scheduling for sure.
  16. Clashfinder is fan fiction at this point. You could go in and edit it so that David Bowie is headlining.
  17. Wonder if Jakes know that he / they are named after the lavvies.

    Anyone got a non-paywalled link?
  20. Still got a wee candle lit for B&S showing up somewhere. They still have a good old GSH. Trying to save some cash this year so didn't pony up for their festival in Glasgow.
  21. Flowerovlove sounding decent on a first spin.

The BBC usually take editing decisions to disguise small crowds. You can tell if the broadcast consists largely of close up footage. Come headliner time, however, there's always enough people stagefront to give it the appearance of being very busy. So to an extent there can be very little difference in the footage between a middle-sized crowd e.g. GnR or a large one e.g. Arctic Monkeys. The difference comes with things like the overhead shots like they used for Elton last year. I doubt they'll bother for SZA cos it will look pretty different to Elton's crowd. However, that's no real reflection on the choice to book her I don't think.
  23. Then you remember wrong then, dont you. LCD I thought was a poor scheduling. Still do. Idles I don't think I've even discussed much recently until they appeared on the poster. But crack on either way and I'll buy you a beer if Chaka Khan opens the Other Stage

Reckon that Justice will prove to be the more popular bit of counter-programming.
