Fuck's sake. I go off to do my actual job for an hour and the thread gets nuked?!?
Almost as quickly as Guns'n'Roses have been nuked from the list of contenders.

Another week, another post raving about Andor - which continues to go harder than you think is possible in Star Wars 😲

What was wrong?
Nothing wrong, exactly. But yards and yards of fairly stark, downbeat new material.

Not been around here much, what happened to the old Taylor thread?
The old Taylor thread can't come to the phone right now.
Why?
Cause it's dead

I went last night. Hmmm.

Imagining Axl and Slash agreeing to do an hour in the middle of the day sandwiched between the likes of Elbow and Arlo Parks.

I dunno if it applies here, but Kelis keeps getting booked for festivals that she doesn't show up for. There's something up somewhere

It's pefectly possible to simultaneously hold these two seemingly contradictory thoughts in your head:
Roxy Music are a perfect booking for the slot; and
Roxy Music will be way less of a success than anyone else who's played in this slot since ELO 7 years back.

Acoustic Stage headliner at best, when compared to the calibre of recent acts in the usual Pyramid slot
While I wouldn't go that far, it'll be very different from the last three.
But it will give the 'In what world is Kylie a legend, they should give it to a real legend like Old Papa Realmusic' demographic a moment in the sun.

They only moved onto cheesy pop shite when they couldn't get proper legends like Johhny Cash anymore.
Not really. There's always been a mix of more nostalgic fun stuff (Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Neil Diamond) and more serious Mojo-rock (Paul Simon, Ray Davies, ELO).

I vividly remember standing in the crowd on the Friday night for the TBC act feeling so convinced it was going to be Taylor...the sadness when it was not. I was not privy to the info beforehand that it was The Libertines 😞
The saddest story ever told.

We've said the same thing about Elton for a few years now.
We've said the opposite - that we can't assume he's guaranteed to play

Dua is as close as we have to a safe bet at this point.

Spiderboy is Damo confirmed.

Dua, Swift and Blur.
Something for everyone.

Watching one of your faves support a mega-act in a stadium is usually a sobering experience as they perform to general indifference and huge swathes of empty seats.

I wouldn’t take bets on 2024 now
I reckon it's as close as we have to a done deal this far out.

I won't link to the article, but it also says Eminem is also still in talks and that Monkey and the lads are signed up to do it.
