  1. Must admit I was a bit indifferent about Placebo, despite loving them back in the day. Been listening to them loads recently and forgot how many great tunes they have, now on my must see list. Lost count of how many times I've seen Flaming Lips live and they have never been anything less than mind blowing Some incredible bands on...gonna be an absolutely cracking weekend!
  2. Expect there might be a queue at 9am on the Thursday and possibly after the schools close Friday but otherwise you should be fine. Avoid camping in Family and you will be fine. The carpark to any of the campsites is not a massive trek...one of the easiest festivals I've ever been to. Would definitely recommend talking your mates into getting there on the Thursday if you can, extra day drinking and the likes of Dreadzone and Craig Charles...why wouldn't you?! Its a great festival...really nice laid back crowd, very few knobheads. Gonna be a cracking weekend...have a good one!
  3. I've always said the last band I want to see at my last festival was Flaming Lips. Although Bearded isnt our last booked festival for this year (and hopefully I might have a few more festival years in me yet), if this is my last Bearded, can't imagine a better way to end it.
  4. We haven't been going that long but for me it is absolutely the highlight of my year...one of the main reasons I can drag my arse out of bed every day to do a job I don't particularly enjoy. Can't think of anything they could do to make it better. A lot of festivals try to grow and get bigger name headliners but lose what made them special. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes I suppose!
  5. Do we think the investment from the Rock City owners will change the festival much? Really hope not. Believe the bars will be run by them now rather than the company that have run them previously. Can't believe after buying the tickets about 2.5 years ago we will be there is less than 2 weeks.
  6. That'll do. Seen a few longer range ones that suggest we might have a dry one...not that it matters but would be nice
  7. Still Bearded Theory tickets available if the refund burns a hole in your pocket!
  8. Think the general concensus on here was that we felt this one might struggle to shift the tickets after the line up was announced. Shame though, never like to see a festival fail and last year was a really good weekend. Maybe in moving the date to Sept they are hoping to avoid clashing with other festivals/people's holidays? Hopefully it will return next year with a stronger line up...I definitely wouldn't rule out going again.
  9. Just seen an email saying Bigfoot has been cancelled until Sept 2023. Shame but can't say I am overly surprised.
  10. Beans on Toast is touring and free that night...
  11. We have a double campbed which we put a double airbed on top of and it works great, much better nights sleep. In terms of airbeds, we've had a couple but tend to find the self inflating ones don't tend to be as good, we had one we used for a couple of festivals but it was pretty shit, barely off the floor. Much better after getting an airbed we inflate ourselves along with a cheap battery operated pump.
  12. If anybody is a loose end on 11th June highly recommend this...cracking all dayer in Wakefield. Been trekking up from Brum for this for a few years now and well worth the £33. Its one of them 'get a wristband and get in multiple venue jobbies'
  13. Honestly, best festival out there mate. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!
  14. Already had Bearded Theory, Camper Calling and Long Division booked. Was hoping to talk my missus into doing Beautiful Days again but she booked Rewind so gotta sit through 3 days of 80's shit!
  15. We decided wasn't worth taking the babby out of school on the Friday and given the change of venue would have meant we wouldnt have got there until late and missed most the Friday so we got a refund. To be fair the organisers were sound. Shame, hopefully the line up will improve next year and we would definitely consider. Have a great one!
  16. Booked for the Libs...would have been nice to get a bigger support but £6 to see Libertines can't complain!
  17. Yeah, from New St its a doddle. Already planned a few in town first, quick one on the train, couple in Cov before we hit the fest
  18. Bit of a long shot but saw Tom Clarke supporting OCS at Xmas and he said The Enemy are touring later this year. Just had a look and they are doing dates in Sept so if they are saying local bands are supporting Libs they might be a shout? I liked them but was never a massive fan but he was actually really good.
  19. Hate to say it but think this was on the cards...I actually liked the line up but seemed very expensive, especially as no camping. Shame.
  20. Its a bit of a pain in the arse the tickets going on sale at 7am... I'll be happy if its Libs and a couple of decent indie bands subbing...shame the indie 'day' is only really an evening though.
  21. Think somebody has said they heard Libertines for the Friday night
  22. We've been taking our babby since she was 1 pretty much, she is 7 this year and honestly doesn't have that much of an impact other than costing a bloody fortune in ice cream. We tend to let her let her know the mornings are hers and she can do all the kids stuff until 1-2pm until the music starts then she watches the music with us. Works well. Obviously helps that she likes listening to music. Think its such a great experience for kids to be seeing people at their best
  23. You should be fine...the campsites aren't far from the car park anyway (compared to most festivals) and when we have been never feels like you are on each others shoulders. Expect a lot of people won't be coming until the Friday anyway if they have kids that haven't got a place in the Bearded school.
  24. A few festivals are very strict that your kids have to be with you if you are pitching in family...Bearded tends to be more relaxed. I'll have a copy of their tickets with me just in case. To be honest as much as I love having the babby at festivals, really looking forward to the Thursday, just having a day to wander round on my own, drink, talk to randoms...
  25. Its an absolutely fantastic weekend with the friendliest crowd. Great site, very easy to get round, huge choice of beers. You won't regret it!
