Yeah Janelle did Holts last time so looks to be on Pyramid or Other if she’s there this year.
Hope she is on the Pyramid this year. She would knock it out the park.

slightly perplexed by the coverage Gossip are getting TBH. There is an interview on BBC news homepage as well https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68477960
for me they really were a one hit wonder. Saw them a few times in the 00's but wouldn't be interested now.

If it is a run of pj harvey, lcd, Coldplay on the pyramid I will be so f**king happy.
I don't care about whether other people think those acts are too small or in the wrong stage I will be having the time of my life.
If people around me aren't digging it I'll just move to get a better atmos.
In fact, I don't think I've ever done a 3 act run at the pyramid on a Friday. Last time was a Sunday for elbow/Lorde/ kendrick and it was amazing.

Are the same people moaning about LCD and PJ Harvey headlining the field on the basis of crowd size the same people saying SZA crowd size doesn't matter and she scores really high critically?
That Friday is shaping to be an excellent night of music for those who want to be there.
PJ Harvey - genius
LCD - awesome
Coldplay - you know will put on the best live spectacle of the weekend and will probably have the biggest crowd
I may be at all three, or none, depending on options, but that's a pretty good top 3.

Yep, good as nailed on.
Yeah I think it's gonna be SZA.

love this question. lot's of the repeat acts I've seen have only been across the same stages though so not a really broad spread.

Honestly, if you think the pyramid is bad....you've never been to Latitude Obelisk Arena!!
100% Not only is it picnic blanket and camping chairs everywhere there are plenty of people with a rotten attitude...not letting people past, giving people dirty looks if they touch the corner of their picnic blanket with their foot. Not everyone, but enough to be really annoying.
At least the Glasto champing chair crowd seems to be friendly.

It is why demurred a bit on it at first. Taken as individual tracks they're all all top drawer, but taken as a whole it's slightly too much for one sitting. The R&B Tusk.
I agree with this somewhat. There is a lot at a similar pace for an hour long album (and this is coming from a fan of The National 🙂 ) I think the live pacing looks okay though as it is broken up with stuff from CTRL and singles.
SOS is really growing on me though. I think as soon as you get over it being more slow jams than bangers then it is a great listen.

I'd take it. Great live band with a huge catalogue of tunes. They'd be great.
there are still Latitude tickets available. Sunday headliner there....and boy are people happy with those headliners/lineup 🙂

So now we have these as our main contenders so far?
Dua Lipa - Coldplay - SZA
The National - Shania Twain - Pulp
Liam G. & John S. - Janelle Monae - The Smile
all rumoured, with the exception of LG & JS who despite a lot of noise a couple of weeks ago was walked back.
I think there is more speculation behind some than others.
-
Today is pretty wild and I'm here for it.
In the absence if info we are just filling the void aren't we.
The National are one of my favourite bands, I can't state that enough, but I don't think they are the right band to headliner Glasto. Joe Q public wouldn't have a clue who they are.
Better to go with an O-Rod or SZA or 1975 who have hit pop songs and a profile in the general public.

Yeah but;
Just because they were right before doesn't mean they ever will be again / just because they were right before doesn't mean they will be right forever / just because they were right before doesn't mean they weren't guessing / just because they were right before doesn't mean anything until the contracts are signed
(Delete where appropriate)

Kasabian were defo big enough
Mumford too tbh, they were huge then and still pretty big now
yeah, you are right they were big enough I just think they were a bit naff 🙂

What would you say these are?
for me the only 2 that I think were slight missteps of recent times were Kasabian and Mumford and Sons. I'm sure plenty of people enjoyed them on the night.

Thought the Verve were meant to be good.
Yeah hindsight for Kanye but one of the biggest names on the planet.
AF a bit on the small side I agree.
The Verve were fantastic on the night. I think they are a name which has more limited appeal... Put it one way they were part of the line-up that only sold out right before the festival (which included KOL & Jay-Z) only time I can remember that happening.

They just announced a gig at a venue in Milton Keynes that fits less than 300 people, and indeed one that is a venue I like and always think I should visit more often. They worth my time?
I only have the new album one spin yesterday and I thought it was great and would be really good live so I reckon give it a listen. They are a bit punky but then also sort of rocky and a bit shoegaze in places so a real mix.

Seems to have come to here from the other place via Reddit. No idea on the bona fides of the original source.
It really just seems like another pretty unsubstantiated one.
Falls into the category of "possible enough to be true, wild enough to get you talking".
If SZA is there in some capacity it'll be a great booking.
We are definitely so dry on genuine info at the moment that it's hard to know what to believe anymore.

Well, two to figure out.
I still don't know who's playing the other 2 nights after Madonna.
She's going to do all 3 nights. Different set each time 😀

Yeah, I've not been but will hopefully go for a ticket next year. I go to EOTR each year and this seems like that but with a bigger budget.
I always love the look of EOTR as well those two are always fab line-ups.

Empir State Bastard playing Resurrection Festival on the Saturday. Not entirely ruled out but certainly makes a Biffy Clyro appearance less likely
good spot, yes makes Biffy seem much less likely doesn't it.

Has nobody suggested Kylie as a headliner yet? She's had a stormer of a year, she's doing a BST Hyde Park show, and she was supposed to headline the Pyramint several years ago.
Originally due to headline the pyramid in 2005 I think. She played a very well received legend slot in 2019, it was a lot of fun. Would be something which hasn't happened before to go from legend slot to headliner.

Add Master Piece’s debut album to that list. A real blend of indie styles in one album, I really enjoyed it!
I'll check it out, thanks for the recommendation 😀 👍

Did I imagine D-Block Europe are rumoured as an other stage headliner?
I must have read it somewhere because I don't know anything about them as an act. I have no idea if they are big enough.
