  1. That is how I remember it as well.
  2. yeah was one of my favourite electronic albums of last year and was surprised they weren't there in 23. I think they played in 22 but I didn't see them then.
  3. The National. Closing out the festival with one of my favourites.
  4. I'm hoping for Overmono to show up at either Silver Hayes or iicon. Really looking forward to poster drops starting soon. Had sort of forgotten about them.
  5. Bill Ryder-Jones is excellent - his last album is in my favourite of the year so far. hopefully he get's added to the Glasto lineup. Also, Madmadmad are really good live and Gaffa Tape Sandy are good as well.
  6. yeah I got a ticket for O2 in November as well - I'm really looking forward to it. BCNR are support as well so that is nice. I think the new song is great and can't wait to hear it live.
  7. yeah, I don't think it will be Wet Leg busy - they had some really big singles with massive radio play and loads of press at the point they played Glasto. Barry Can't Swim hasn't crossed over into the mainstream like that.
  8. I think it is just that Levels is easy to fence off and control because it is enclosed. I was there for Fatboy Slim and Nia Archives last year and they had really good crowd control. I appreciate that he is much bigger than those acts though I was thinking unannounced. But you are right they shouldn't put someone of Fred's draw in venue where it could lead to a crush.
  9. I would be so excited if he plays a random DJ set somewhere. Definitely seems possible. Hopefully either somewhere that can handle it properly like Levels or with good crowd control like the Temple where it can't get overcrowded and you are either there for it or you haven't got a hope of getting in. I've said before but I think if he maintains the trajectory after Reading/Leeds with a big album then next time he is back at Glasto will be headlining.
  10. interesting that he is a bit underpowered live. I agree that he hasn't got that much music for a full set so it isn't going to be wall to wall bangers. Probably unfair to compare to Fred Again because he had 3 albums of material + some big singles when he was playing Glasto last year. He probably benefitted from covid in that regard.
  11. His album is great and really looking forward to catching his set. I feel like it will be a bit early for him to be honest but quite happy he won't clash with some of the acts on later on so on balance it works for me. I hope the park isn't too packed so can have a little dance.
  12. Yeah that looks like it works for festivals. I really want Deep End (Paul's in pieces) from the last album.
  13. Oh yeah, for sure, I don't think I could tell you what the right set would be, but for headlining the other stage at glasto it is closer to the first night at ally pally than the second one imho. Although mega fans will always want the deeper cuts. I reckon they'll get the balance the right. They have so much to choose from now and I love that they mix up the setlists so much.
  14. I'm so excited that I'll get to finish glasto with one of my favourite bands. 2 thoughts I had. 1. Given that phoebe bridgers guests on songs with SZA and The National does that mean she might turn up live? I think it is unlikely but outside chance. 2. If The National play their cards right with the "right " setlist and performance they won't have a better opportunity to cross over to a broader audience in the UK. I think they are either as big as a medium size band can be (or as big as a cult band can be). With good BBC coverage they might just take it up to the next level.
  15. saw him last year at Latitude and he has a bucketful of great songs and comes across as a nice chap. Yeah perfect 10 can do one. Agree he will go down a storm on the pyramid in the early afternoon.
  16. f**k yes! I don't know why I have slept on Blondshell. Really enjoying this.
  17. Yeah I am kinda surprised Idles are headlining other above d- block to be honest as they have to be the bigger act on paper. Also, seems weird that idles and fontaines are clashing Very big crossover in fans.
  18. I think it is understandable that some people aren't feeling the line-up. I hope they come round to it and dig into some of the stuff they might not know yet. I guess it is fair that there are going to be folks who don't like it and are going to not pay the balance. In a way that is the right choice for them to make if the acts don't appeal to them. Also a good thing because people who get tickets in the resale will definitely be bought into the line-up and so will mean that potentially get more fans for acts (such as SZA, SEVENTEEN, Dua Lipa) than perhaps in the first sale population. You would imagine that there would be people who might have considered Glasto but not tried because there hasn't been a "big ticket" act that they really want to see there who would now try in the resale.
  19. Dua Lipa & Coldplay for me. I really want to see SZA but The National are one of my favourite bands and so I'll be going with them, however it is a tough clash for me. The Friday night is also clashageddon for me but reckon I'd rather have a nice easy run of PJ Harvey/ LCD Soundsytem and Dua Lipa. Will have to catch Idles and Fontaines DC on tour.
  20. God yeah, they are great aren't they. I loved antisicocialites most but the third is fantastic as well. I've never seen them live so hoping there isn't a clash.
  21. You are welcome 😊. Hope you find some stuff you like. That's the thing I love about the smaller names on the poster. Always some treats in there too be discovered.
  22. Not acts which I've learned from the poster but some smaller names that are really worth checking out.. - Soccer Mommy - She has done several albums 90's american indie rock sound. Supported The National at Ally Pally last year FFO Phoebe Bridgers. - Bar Italia - released debut last year I think. Post punk indie - FFO Fontaines DC/Idles - NewDad - I think they they have one album and some ep's - dream pop/Indie - FFO big thief, lush, wolf alice - Mannequin Pussy - new album was out a couple of weeks ago. Punky but then also shoegazy as well. FFO Idles, Ride - Barry can't swim - Debut album was out last year. sort of "lofi" Dance music, in a similar vibe to Fred again. FFO Fred Again -Alvvays - On about album 3 I think. Jangly indie pop FFO c86 bands I know lot's of indie there but I do listen to a lot of indie 🙂 also, I know people like Squid have been around a while but they are great post punk indie and Lankum was one of the albums of last year, dark folk I guess. I know I bang on about Nia Archives a bit but she really is fantastic. Jungle music very 90's influenced.
  23. Nadine Shah & Beth Gibbons would be the 2 I would have bet money on being there.
  24. It is aimed at nearly everyone though isn't it? probably the only underrepresented mainstream popular genres are metal and hard rock. As a representation of a really broad set of musical styles and acts it does what it is likely aiming for. if you like indie music it is there, if you like pop it is there, if you like dance it is there Rap it is there. It is good to see stuff like KPop (which is massive) getting booked at last.
  25. Also, these are all names that have been talked about on here for a long time (I acknowledge SZA was only talked about in the last few weeks). So it isn't like this is totally leftfield is it? Probably the main surprises for me are Idles and disclosure as other headliners and no Pulp (even that has been suggested recently so was mentally prepared for it). Nice surprises for me are Little Simz in a big slot on the Pyramid, Alvvays, Janelle Monae. Gutted that Idles will clash with Dua Lipa (and Jaimie XX and Fontaines DC)
