They're one of the best British singles band of the last 20 years. They're brilliant live. They are perfect for this. I looked at their setlist for Standon Calling and got genuine chills

I won't hear this slight on Hot Chip

momoooooooooooooooos

agreed. it's not like it's taking place last summer, but there are still risks, and some of the language on here about "forget about it" has been a tad reckless imo. now average age is older, so more double vaxxed people which means lower viral loads. But I know there's a fairly decent chance I'll catch it there, so have planned to stay at home the week after (luckily my job allows that)

be interested to see what else they have on the bars - Metroland is a tad too close to lager as those session IPAs go
-
always better to have an not need than to need and not have
-
Are they mostly bands whove played elsewhere? Cos I'd give a short price black midi turning up if outsiders appear
-
Self Esteem playing would make my weekend tbh

BEAK and Self Esteem to every festival that goes ahead

Full disclosure - he's an acquaintance of mine, but Garrett Millerick is hilarious

One thing that took me aback at EOTR was the abundance of really decent NA hot drinks. Loads of coffee stands that had Allpress beans (not my personal fave, but compared to most fest? forget about it) and good tea options. Green tea wires more than any other simulant so could be a good idea to keep you pluging!

My work is moving to 2 days in the office the week after EOTR.....*shudder*

More importantly, when do we get the healing field deets. I am so up for getting in early and snagging a massage
-
Probably around 10am on Friday. Only 2 of us could go Thursday, and it's my mentee's leaving drinks fromw work which I feel honour bound to attend

They're available at pharmacies, but there are also a lot of community testing centres about where you can do it and they auto text you so it gets registered for you. Could be an idea, as you might get some looks sitting around doing one in public

Emailing confimring entry is - COVID pass - 48 hour lateral flow - Natural immunity cert In order to make the weekend as safe as possible for everybody involved, we will be requiring all attendees to abide by new Covid-19 protocols in order to gain access to End of The Road Festival 2021. All ticket holders aged 11 and over (those under 11 are exempt) will need to demonstrate their Covid-19 Status by providing either: • Proof of full vaccination – both doses received (with the second at least 14 days prior to the festival) or; • Proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Test or PCR Test taken within 48 hours prior to arrival at the festival (please note that it can take up to two hours for your test result to show up on the NHS App) or; • Proof of natural immunity based upon a positive PCR test within 180 days of the festival (including 10 days self-isolation following the result). You will find a full list of FAQs regarding Covid-19 on our website.

cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war

I respect you, so I'm gonna ignore that

My mate actually did this for the 5 years I went. Vividly remember him opening the 2009 programme with Shakey, The Boss and blur headling and going "holy shit! Doves are playing!"
-
No worries man, I hope you have a great time
-
Is anyone else absolutely gassed? Like I can't concentrate on my work i'm so excited

As everyone has said, well done on the sobriety mate, it's a great achievement. Might be a bit extreme, but on my one interaction with the first aid and welfare team they were so friendly, kind and non judgemental, that popping to the welfare tent if it really gets too much isn't the worst idea. I'm very sure they'd give you a seat, have a chat and a cup of tea. Less full on, but once you head to healing gardens beyond the garden stage, and the creative area around the talking head stage there are no bars at all, plus with stuff to do. Could be a nice relaxation point - I've used the talking heads stage as a distraction before when i've been feeling a bit worse for wear
