  1. New Hamish Hawk album out this week...surely a good fit?
  2. That must have been unreal. Not really one for reunion tours but there has to be exceptions eh...caught NMH at the Albert Hall and was heavenly
  3. Walkmen, BJM and NMH doing a one off to promote the boxset would do .🤣
  4. Ah perhaps a chance they pop down to Dorset then
  5. Have Brian Jonestown Massacre ever shown their face at EOTR? Noticed they're headlining Manchester psyche fest the same weekend. Going to see em Saturday as it happens
  6. Wasn't really looking at it from that perspective...more an 'angel is at the upper limit size wise to headline the garden, we'll need someone who can draw a fair crowd at the woods to even things out' Obviously date availability will be the primary mover but obviously again they do also give consideration to balancing set times for diversity, popularity etc. Maybe Future Islands will prove popular enough anyway, tho popularity on Spotify doesn't necessarily equate popularity at EOTR. Quite possible Simon knows his crowd better than any one of us do though. Id personally still expect the garden to be rammed for an Angel Vs FI clash but time will tell.
  7. Hope your Mabe Fratti guess is close to the money...was listening this morning and sort of thing I could get well into in the garden but probably wouldn't bother with in the big top which I'm rarely a fan of.
  8. Yeah would be insanely crowded for Angel in that case surely. Opposite King Giz make most sense in crowd spreading terms I guess
  9. think we can guess which track this dude will finish his set with...
  10. I always find the playlist disappointing!...the very nature of the festival means it's a headache inducing constant flit from genre to genre A spreadsheet and work my way up from the bottom of the bill like a proper sad fucker
  11. Yeah I was listening to that last night and was v surprised when Bill's unmistakable drawl came in.
  12. Sam Burton...Tim Buckleyesque, really good songwriter by the sounds of it Moin ...very Slinty, be a decent racket I reckon Floodlights ... Aussie post punk/ jangle pop ... Tapir sound like they have something interesting going on Indigo Sparke put out a decent album on sacred bones, usually a good mark of quality Loads already really and I've barely begun digging.
  13. Yup. I'm still excited for it cos there looks to be some great undiscovered stuff but would be nice to get some more top tier second liners...only Angel fits that bracket at the moment and if you look at past line ups there's been at least 3 or 4 every other year. If they don't materialise they should expect some criticism. Headliners are very uninspiring but that's often been the case and hasn't really mattered...think it will this year unless there's at least a couple more crowdpleasing names to come.
  14. Some great stuff in the lower unknown section...dunno why we ever doubt Simon tbh...hyped again already
  15. Would be pretty poor if true for me...but tbh even speculating for months we've struggled to come up with an inspiring list of headliners ourselves...just one of those years maybe. Sure the undercard will be the usual high quality.
  16. Did Andy Shauf ever make it over or was he just scheduled for the covid year?
  17. New Steve Mason single released this week...what a set that was in the big top a few years ago...would be very welcome back... maybe an evening garden slot to mix it up?
  18. All the gigs pretty much evenly spaced tho, probably just likes to take things easy. Can't see it
  19. Hope not saw em a few months ago thought they were dreadful. Edit: garden fair enough no problem but the Thursday headliner is harder to get away from. Think they'd be a bit dull for that
  20. Yeah fair enough, I was thinking B & S had headlined the garden last time tbf, I missed that year. St Vincent has headlined the woods 3 times mind hasn't she?
  21. Wonder if Belle and Sebastian were the intended Thursday headliner and that's delayed the announcement till next week? Would normally be announced this week right and they teased the "soon.." just before Stuart Murdoch announced his illness was causing tour cancellations. Just thinking out loud really, the Thursday headliner is a pretty key slot for me to get things rolling... thought they just about got away with it last year. Who we thinking for the Thursday?
  22. Still kicking myself for missing that and love the new album so yes please. Having a cowboy junkies kind of morning... they'd be heavenly on the garden stage wouldn't they
  23. Ahmed Fakroun I fancy, lotta people seemed to be looking forward to that last year
  24. Yeah be disappointed if they don't...late night big top or early evening garden? Meg Baird and Hotel Lux both got albums out and would fit well. Hopefully loads of stuff I've never heard of too , there's some very tired looking Festival line ups knocking about elsewhere
  25. Been listening to the promo 'singles' for the Ruhail Qaisar album that loud and quiet just gave a glowing review to.... interesting experimental ambient soundscape shizzle...sort of left field booking that would do very nicely at EOTR I reckon
