  1. I really enjoyed it too. Have been to three gigs there now (also did Dizzee and Baxter Dury/Fat White Family) but Friday night was the best one by far. Cribs were great - first actual moshpit. Was a bit gutted no Hey Scenesters! and Another Number though. I'm not even a particularly big Supergrass fan but, yeah, they were great. That big run of his they did at the end was superb. Delighted that I'll be seeing them again at Godiva in a few weeks (was only £7.50 too!). It's a really nice set-up they've got down there at CP Park. Am trying to blag tickets to the opera next Sunday, so fingers crossed for that.
  2. Also, big shout at to, er, me going to Supergrass and The Cribs in Crystal Palace Park on Friday (actually, should be a fair few others going considering the number of reduced price ticket links I've DM out!).
  3. I ventured to the outer reaches of other forums on this website (it's a bit like the 'rejected toys under the bed' scene in Tory Story: initially terrifying but it turns out everyone is friendly enough) and found a Supergrass and Therapy? festival with tickets for £7.50! https://www.godivafestival.com/news/article/93/friday_line-up_announced_for_godiva_festival

    First Gig Back

Her friend works for the NHS; my wife (she should be ashamed!) works in marketing. One thing I learnt back in my internet app dating days was that all women in London work in marketing.

    First Gig Back

Great stuff, you're at a fest every week aren't you?! We've sadly realised we aren't going abroad for a while and holidays in this country seem quite hard to get hold of. Not sure I want to go clubbing yet cos of the Covid, so have sort of decided that going to loads of festivals might be the way forward!
  6. Did anyone have any joy with complaining to Wembley re the final? My bro did so last week for the four of us (was some conjecture as to whether we should all do it individually or as a group).

    First Gig Back

My wife's first gig back was last week at Gorillaz at the NHS gig at the O2. When she got back she said she was so emotional being back at her first big gig (we did Farmsfest before) she almost cried (plus they had loads of special guests, inc Robert Smith). Anyway, the reason I am posting it here is to say Big up to @Big durbsfor helping her and her NHS worker friend to get the free tickets. My wife's been getting a lot of crap at work recently and has been very (very) stressed, so very grateful for you for taking the time to sort this and taking her mind off it all for a few hours. What a top man!
  8. Thanks guys, reckon will go. Will wait and see what bargains turn up closer to the time!
  9. Realised we prob aren't going to go abroad on holiday as planned, so just going to do bank hol in London and might go to this (surprisingly, doesn't seem to be much else on!). Have got the next week booked off anyway. Still £90 mind. From digging around, would appear BBC and Foals prob won't clash anyway, is this correct?
  10. I went to the Baxter Dury, Fat White Family one (which was obviously more 'indie') and it was pretty busy. Prob not quite sold out but approaching it I would say. So hopefully the Supergrass date does alright (no pub intended),
  11. Hacienda mix on 6 for the next hour. Kicking off today's all-day 90s rave.

    How do you feel?

My two would be playing sport or lying in bed listening to a podcast. Hope you feel better!
  13. All I can say is 'I want my minutes back'.
  14. In a real hands across the ocean moment, I'm prepared to admit that I thought The Day is My Enemy was quite a good album.
  15. Am guessing this is how I'll feel about the Eden Project!
  16. Thanks for that. We are in Falmouth, which seems quite nice! The wife mentioned the boat trip so will def do that ta. Theatre is sold out every day unfortunately! How was Stonehenge? Never actually been 'inside'. Was talk of doing it on the way home too, but I have a ticket to a festival in London on Sat now.
  17. Pleased to say we are now on holiday! We're in the UK but you can't have everything. Drove down to Cornwall after Farmfest (which was in Somerset) and we are here for the week, then drive up to Glastonbury on Friday to stay with friends on the way back. Not been to Cornwall for years if anyone has any recommendations? We've been told that the Eden Project is a must-do. Could be good for the day it's supposed to rain.
  18. Sorry to hear that - though that will be a hell of a way to return! There's always those sort of halfway house events held in holiday parks where you get a bed and everything?
  19. I didn't actually see many bands, which is unlike me - and what I did see was a bit of a blur! It's a bit vague but the highlight was unsurprisingly Snapped Ankles. Also really enjoyed Talk Show, so thanks to those who recommended, though I only saw 15 mins as they clashed with SA. I mainly saw DJs later on. I usually watch a lot but was too nice sitting around at the beer stand in the sun with friends I've barely seen for two years catching up with the rolling hills in the background. Was lovely!
  20. I think she knew the game was up when Steve Wright started blowing her out of the water with Serious Jockin'.
  21. Yeah, we had a few dropouts for Farmfestival this weekend and everyone I know who resold took a hit on the price. It was sold out too. Anything aimed at an older audience is usually good value for a cheap ticket. Any gigs like that, I always wait until last minute and get a cheap one. Older people are much more likely to not bother at the last minute and don't really care about selling at less than they bought for.
  22. Sorry to hear that - how awful!
