    2024 Headliners

If you're like me and loved the first couple of albums but then got lost, make sure you've tried Ghost Stories from, I think, 2014.
  2. This is really unclear. I pressed the green button a few days ago. Now I got an email today saying I need to confirm. But the links don't have anything to confirm, it just lets me update my details again. Am I all done?
  3. I don't know when I originally registered, but I've now gone to the link and pressed the green button. I didn't upload a new photo. Am I good?
  4. What did you do this year that you've never done before? See a headliner at The Park (Alt-J) Enter The Temple See an amazing late night act at Croissant Neuf (Global Collective) See a debate at Left Field See no more than one full set at The Pyramid What you have yet to cross off your Glastonbury to-do list? Visit the Piano Bar Go to the newly positioned Strummerville Visit the secret Rabbit Hole Have a Goan fish curry
  5. Seeing way less than you expected is totally normal until you learn it's the norm. Heat, tiredness, food, toilets, queues, walking, clashes, waiting. Many people believe it's best to only have 3 or 4 must-sees a day.
  6. I had my best food ever at Glastonbury! Including ... - Twice at the cafe next to Croissant Neuf - Masala dosa at Carhenge - Mac n cheese at Acoustic - Spicy chicken and rice at West Holts - Burrito in Cabaret field - a Duck wrap - 2 different pad thais Worst was some momos I got which were like bricks. Between Other and Silver Hayes maybe? They weren't bad, but not as amazing as momos can be.
  7. Gabrielle was like a sauna in Croissant Neuf! I simultaneously ran out of water, got struck by sudden intense hunger, and baked! Real shame, cos I would have otherwise really enjoyed it!
  8. How come she's not on the BBC IPlayer? Can we expect to get her added later?
  9. 1. Alt-J 2. Warpaint 3. The Global Collective
  10. Far too hot for me this year, but I learnt from the torture of 2019 and stayed in shade and indoors for most of the daytimes, which helped. 2022 weather was blissful!
  11. Original Poster here, giving an update : I opted to see Alt-J, and had the best time ever. Highlight of the festival, no regrets. I also sprinted to catch the last few songs of Elton on the edge of the crowd, which in hindsight wasn't really worth it. So to conclude, always see the act you like! p.s Sorry for the late update, I was doing my hair.
  12. Original Poster here! Seems like I've got a mix of response, reflecting why I asked the question in the first place. Overall though I still think I'm gonna see Alt-J. I'm too excited by that! Plus hopefully I can catch the end of Elton anyway, just to give myself a taste of what could have been!
  13. With big talk of Elton's performance, is there anyone else who's not intending to see him, but slightly fears its a mistake? For me, I'm not into his music, but I don't hugely dislike it either. But I've got hugely into Alt-J this last year, so am really looking forward to that instead. Plus I'll try and catch the end of Elton if I can. I remember last year I saw McFly at Glastonbury, and everyone around me was loving it and I wasn't feeling it at all. Made me feel like a miserable old man. So hopefully I'm making the right choice here! But .... FOMO!
  14. I'm behind on this. 'Doing The Smiths?'. That's a joke, right? 🤨
  15. Darn, I chose to attend the wrong set that year. 😞
  16. Yeah, I remember it was rainy and miserable. They had to cut out at least 1 song. Shame, they were one of my favourite bands.
  17. Mmm, interesting. Do you think it would be awkward when getting to the front of packed-out sets?
  18. It probably sounds like a dumb question, but if you wanna walk around bag free, anyone got good tips to carry the steel water bottle about? Maybe buy some sort of clip to clip somewhere?
  19. Is there a nice way to attach it to myself somehow? Or will I need a pocket or a bag?

    Sunday Sub

I know! If I'm too knackered, I'll forget it. But I think there's 35 minutes difference in their end times.

I was hoping to catch the end of Elton after Alt-J, even from behind a huge crowd. Possibly that's sounding like they won't even let me in the field?
  22. I do lots of walks leading up to Glastonbury, just try and get myself more used to being on my feet all day. I'm pretty sure it makes a huge difference.
  23. Thanks, I've bought one of these. 1st impressions are great, I can't see it being a bother on hard ground like my last mat!
  24. Yeah I dont intend to push past chocker-block bits, so I don't expect the pit. I'm wondering where to aim for, and which but of the pyramid field to try and enter from. So as you say, maybe I should "circumnavigating the sound desks to the other side". I'm also thinking I should avoid entering the field from the very front right bit, and enter the mid way right bit (from The Woods)
  25. Does anyone have any recommendations how to get a good spot for the Pyramid stage having arrived last minute from Woodsies? I believe that front right side can get super shoulder to shoulder!I like to be as close as possible, preferably in the pit, but I'll only get to Arctic Monkeys with minutes to spare as I'll be seeing Warpaint beforehand.
