  1. was told by Fiona end of April via Email
  2. you wouldn't, well perhaps you would believe some of the stuff people just leave for you to pick up. From used sanitary products, used condoms, needles, bottles and things full of piss and sh*t. I enjoyed after shifts but wont go for them as standard. For some reason they are also 5 days this years instead of 4 on recycling crew.
  3. same I was too 😄
  4. I did recycling crew for the first time last year after 13 years as a punter, I actually gave my ticket up last year in order to volunteer. I absolutely loved it - I did post festival shifts. This year the post festival shifts were 4 days instead of 3 so I went for during festival shifts so will see how I get on with that. The best thing for me was exploring Monday/Tuesday before all the punters got in and having a quieter campsite to go back to in Toms field to escape the carnage for awhile. I actually said to Dondo on here when we met Tuesday at the Crew Bars that I preferred it when all the ticket holders were not there. Ha ha. I am introvert by nature though 😄
  5. I went for yellow 10am to 4pm with tractor morning 2nd shift
  6. How likely is it for returning non vet's (recycling crew)to get their first pick on shifts chosen?
  7. Just got my Recycling Crew invitation as a returning volunteer from last year
  8. I spoke to Jake at Recycling - the invite for non vets should be arriving soon. Does the recycling crew get different invites from different people? IE some direct from Critical waste and some from Fi and Jake?
  9. yep - I was with a group of 4 first timers last year - on the post festi shifts
  10. Yes mate 100% - loved it last year
  11. Hiya dude, I spoke to Fi - for those of us non veterans who completed a successful shift last year we will be invited back in January. I presume Vets will be slightly earlier than those of us who are non vets
  12. I am presuming this IP hack was someone in the know giving out the direct server addresses which sit behind the load balancer at see?
  13. I had quite a strange experience trying for friends - using a link that was on here somewhere I got in at 08:58am to the enter registrations page. Put them all in but then a message appeared saying tickets not available until 9am and the confirm button was greyed out. At 09:00am I refreshed and the confirm button became live - so I clicked but got put back into the holding page. I went back and forth a few times to the enter reg page and clicked confirm but no joy. Assume it had not allocated a session cookie to me as I got through pre 9am but I am not technical in this area though have some understanding.
  14. thanks dude - hopefully see you at the Tow and Hitch again on the Monday 🙂
  15. I worked Recycling Crew last year for the first time, completed all my shifts etc. I know it is not guaranteed but presumably you are invited back the next year before anyone new? Do you know when Fiona normally contacts people who have worked it before?
  16. trying for others but assuming to get back with recycling crew
  17. Loved working for recycling crew. Slightly concerned their website and fb page has been down since glasto
  18. After 14 festivals as a punter i volunteered this year through choice even though I had a ticket. Loved it and deffo volunteering again next year

I too did recycling Crew this year for the first time. I was post festival shifts, was pretty hard work and I racked up around 250,000 steps over 7/8 days. The Tuesday-Thursday shifts are 8am to 5pm and are hard work. You basically go around every single camping field clearing the litter. We did 8 campsites in record time this year apparently so they sent us out to the car parks Thursday I was pretty knackered by Thursday and consider myself reasonably fit. The camaraderie was good and I met some great people. I will be applying again next year but will ask for in festival shifts I think as 10/11 days from getting there the Monday before the festival was a tough gig.

I found an orange health and safety band. No idea if it got you in anywhere but wasn't about to try as if challenged or asked a question I wouldn't have a clue lol
