    Queue watch

We drove up from Glastonbury town to West car park at 1pm, no traffic queues at all (thanks parsonjack for the advice!), directed to pink car park unfortunately so quite a walk to Gate A. No queue to get in, and plenty of camping space this side of the site in Darble, Pylon, Rivermead and Bushy. West Side rules! Have fun people!
  2. Thanks parsonjack for your help, I think Somerton > Street > Galstonbury > West car park is probably the way we will head. One more question if you dont mind, you mentioned the A361/A37 junction will be closed. Will the whole of the A361 from their to Pilton, East to West be closed? Just wondered if heading North at that junction towards Shepton Mallet then down the B3136 to rejoin at Pilton is possible at all. Thanks for you help!
  3. Thats the route we usually take but i though the East to West road to the north of the site through Pilton (A361) was closed on Wednesdays?
  4. Is that the route you take? And do you travel on Wednesday (as they reopen some of the roads on Thursday) Thanks
  5. Yes that was the one I was thinking, I just wasnt sure if it was a good idea or even possible with all the road closures they put in place during the festival?
  6. Is going down the A303 then turn off just after Podimore onto the B3151 past Somerton > Street > Glastonbury > West cat parks possible, or is that a no goer?
  7. ....... yeah, I will be waiting for it...lol
  8. Shouldn't we all be packing and looking forward to 5 days in paradise now?! Take wellies, trainers and a few jumpers and you will be covered whatever happens. Time to get excited now rather than worrying about what might or might not happen and will no doubt change again in the next few days. It ain't going to be a mud bath so no need to panic, might or might not be a few showers here and there but who cares, its all a part of the experience, and unlikely to spoil your enjoyment of the festival in any way
  9. Thats very helpful thanks! I was wondering whether to go M4 then down and keep with the west car parks, or brave it and go M3, then up and head to East car parks
  10. Hi, has anyone got any advice for a virgin Wednesday arriver?! Thanks
  11. It was you who recommended them though wasn't it? I think they are are a great live band and it would be ace given a better slot at a festival, there's nothing not to like, electoronic music, DJing, live guiter, live drums, etc.... exactly the sort of thing i am looking for! I see they were at Boomtown recently
  12. Thanks old son, I will check them out. I think it was you who mentioned Subgiant a few years back, I think you know them, I have loved then ever since, right up my street, astonishingly great live band l, shame they aren't playing G this year, they're still playing live this year. One of the great glasto gigs ever at 2am in the Bimble Inn a few years back...
  13. Auto correct my friend, trust me I know how to spell weather!
  14. Yadder yadder, Countryfile whether forecast for the week ahead is imminent..........
  15. In any other year I wouldn't say this, but hearing One Day Like This by Garvey and Co on the Pyramid Stage will give me goose gumps.... I think its going to be one of those blubbing moments, like things are back to normal and we are having fun again. Fuck, the last couple of years have been shit
  16. There isn't anything stopping anyone/foragers getting onto the site Monday morning so I would recommend not leaving your tent for too long then in case someone thinks it's been abandoned so take it to sell it on
  17. Thanks all, there is some great stuff there but I still haven't stopped looking for any more! Also like Jane Weaver but not sure how good she is live? Penelope Isles I think will also sound ace in WG as well as WH Lung (last two not particularly electronically though)
  18. Would love a bit of this, some of the highlights the last few years were Acid Mothers Temple at West Holts in 2019 (I think) and Ozric Tentacles in the Glade a few years back. Awesome stuff, struggling to find something similar on the line up this year other than what's already been mentioned
  19. Thanks, I didnt know they closed the route East to West through Pilton, though not surprised, that road is OK on the Thursday. Not too sure the best, quietest route to get there at the moment if we are looking to head to the West car parks, coming from Norfolk. Or just head for the East car parks, but then not too sure where would he the best place to camp which will still have space in it?
  20. Sorry I know there are a lot of other threads on where to camp, but thought I would add another! We normally arrive on Thursday afternoon, and head from the east on the M3/A303 then turn off at Wincanton, head up through Castle Carey, then across the E Compton Road through Pilton, before parking in a West Car park, to Gate A and then camp in Pylon or Rivermead. We have decided to go on Wednesday this year, so plan to arrive early afternoon. So what is the traffic through Pilton like around Wednesday lunchtime, will there be large queues through the village and will we be able to take that route or will we be forced to park in one of the East Car parks? Also, how much space is there on Wedensay afternoon. We alway head to Pylon/Gate A as it is usually one of the few fields which has some space left, although not sure this year as some of Pylon has been taken over by hospitality camping. Will the be much space in other fields Wednesday afternoon, especially if we have to park in the East Car parks and head toward PGB for example? Any advice from Wdnesday lunchtime/afternoon arrivers much appreciated! Thanks!
  21. I would be happy with a deluge on Sunday if we could guarentee the previous 4 days were dry. Better that than a deluge on Thursday followed by dry weather. Keep the faith people
  22. Fleet Services son the M3 on the way there Gordano Services on the M5 for the be cast KFC ever on way home, feeling smug with all the other dirty, tanned people with wrist bands and Glasto stickers in their car windows, knowing we have all shared a weekend we will never forget and survived ... In different directions I know, but thats the way the traffic flows from Pink 54 car park on the Monday!
