Pyramid stage screens asking everyone to pack up their chairs and blankets. Fair play. First time I have seen that

Best thing would be to have a sign in the entry to the car parks and entry gates saying don't bring the f**kers in in the first place

I'm at Capaldi, the crowd is big - but it's very, very bad. f**king painful.

Have you no idea of his struggles with mental health, he's doing brilliantly

Wow Chvrches, just wow! In my world they are pyramid headliners! Absolutely f**king incredible! Not sure anyone will top that all weekend.

Bit of a lull now for me until Sparks at 9:15 - time for some grub I think.

I was thinking that too, but only caught the last few songs. Brilliant stuff, you will have a job to beat that over the weekend. Well done them, a real graveyard shift being up against the Foos but they totally smashed it. Dare I say it, I think I would rather have been at Chvrches than Foos had I been there tonight..

Suffered for people going off to get a good spot for Adele in 2016 and now this clash with the Foos. Hopefully they get to sub for Taylor on their next tour to make up for it.

They need a decent spot on the Pyramid, they would go down a treat. I saw them sub Coldplay a couple of weeks ago in Manchester and it seemed a bit flat because people were there to see Coldplay, not them, so hopefully won't be same if they sub Taylor. I always think they are a band who need an appreciative crowd, they rise to the occasion if the crowd are with them

  5. Assume its the realisation that this man is human like the rest of us. He has seemed superhuman for the last 50 years and suddenly we might be realising that he is vulnerable like the rest of us, especially being the age he is, crumbs he's 87, bloody wow! No doubt he will have many more happy years at the farm just maybe not quite as active, but hopefully enjoying his creation, hopefully he can sit back and enjoy it all, I wish him the best. The festival is in safe hands with Emily, I hope he enjoys the legacy he has created for many years to come

Used to enjoy watching the football matches and Wimbledon in that bar when the dates combined!

Me too, especially remember Wimbledon on a sunny Saturday afternoon chilling just inside the bar entrance having a fee beers, whilst keeping an eye/ear out for who was playing in the tent next door. Love(d) that place/area, could spend hours drinking and listening to music and people watching as they pass through between Acoustic/Pyramid/West Holts or just chilling out on the seats outside.

Bar on the green is now next to the bbc introducing stage

Ah thanks, it did look quite a bit like the old Williams Green area, but the path did look a bit strange if it was WG. Thanks for the reply!

  8. On today's Glasto twitter feed today is this photo, which I thought was the bar in Williams Green, and so I was a bit confused as there looked like the Williams Green tent in the background! I assume the photo in the twitter feed is not from this years festival then!? Has that bar gone, as well as the tent then, I liked to have a few beers in there each year. A shame if it has

  9. Sorry if I have missed this, but when do they lift the screens at the front of the Pyramid and behind the sound desks. And the crowd barrier. I know they will be fenced off until Friday but seems to be a bit late to be putting them up when the site is full of people tomorrow?!

  10. Hi, no ticket this year unfortunately but I still find myself really, really drawn to these boards, not too sure why, just a realisation that this year wasnt meant to be, so less stressed trying to get things sorted

So, I would really love some photos from those enjoying themselves. I don't want to see bands or posh photos, I want to see crap photos, walkways, stalls, random sh*t, Williams Green, the Woods, Strummerville, all good, just photos which show the how cool it all is, and how much I enjoy, and miss, being there

Miss the place so much but just want everyone to here to have the times of their lives, which they totally will

Spend a moment to post for the non-attendees please!.... Don't mind spoilers, but maybe leave until Thursday when most punters have had a good bimble, don't want to spoil it for those about to unwrap their Christmas presents...

Pretty sure this is where the guys with their ‘Pyramid Plaza’ (may have misremembered that name?) setup used to be when I first started going. A big open tent on the pathway with a living room setup and armchairs etc. Anyone else remember this?

Yes, remember it well, a cracking set up they had right next to the path overlooking the Pyramid stage, I always wondered how they managed to get the same spot year after year!

  12. It seems a bit drastic to close the whole of Row Mead, I know they have moved it back before but not by much. I didnt think you could even see the Pyramid stage when you got a bit further back in Row Mead due to how the field slops back there, might be wrong though? I would also have though it would be more dangerous as that corner has always been a pinch point at the opening where the fence is, as people headed from Pyramid to Woodsies from the top of the Pyramid, at least people were only coming from the path or the area below. I would have thought it be even more of a pinch point if they can also come from Row Mead as well? There will be lots of people heading through that space at the same time from different directions, might be a bit unpleasant especially as they are clearly expecting such a huge crowd for Elton

  13. Stone Circle put this on the Accessibility thread, and it might give an idea (not sure if it will show in full resolution, if not have a look in the Accessibility thread). It shows a photo of the site when in full swing, not sure what year, cant be that old, but not last year as Pylon and Rivermead still seem to be fully punter camping. You can see which areas aren't rammed when the action is happening, so Friday onwards. If it were me I would have headed to Backhouse as it has always looked quite sparse, even though quite away from the action, or somewhere else towards Gate D. Also, dont forget campsites always look full from the paths, as its where people tend to pitch first, but walk along the perimeters of fields and there is can beloads of space at the back, in fields which look full from the main walkway. Rivermead (and Pylon before) have been are go to camping spots for many years, they often look full on Thursday but just have a wonder and there's usually loads of space at the back, as you can make out from the photo below

RIP Pylon and most of Rivermead
