  1. ... and Portishead again ...I wouldn't mind U2 giving it another go as well, it didn't really work last time they on so many levels, especially the weather
  2. Paul McCartney I don't care that he will be 80 and his voice isn't what it used to be. He's a f*&king Beatle, and it's probably the last chance we'll get to see a Beatle performing live so can't miss it Can't wait
  3. That sounds like a great idea. I will avoid it like the plague mind, being the wrong side of 50 now, but anything that gives the area its unique identity/vibe will be great. Its one of the biggest open areas on the entire site, it just need to be utilised properly
  4. I used to love the old Dance East and Dance West tents they used to have there in 2005, etc, they had a real mixture of indie/new bands and then dance acts there late on during the day, from memory. I suppose that all changed when the Park took over those type of bands in 2007/2008, and later Williams Green, but that left a void in that area, so it became much more dance orientated. The area never really found its identity in my opinion after that, and hasnt since. I know they have added Blues, Gully, etc, but it still seems a random collection of smaller venues to me. Probably need to put something right in the middle where the path is, to split the area to two sides, even if its bars/food outlet just to make it feel less unwelcoming/cavernous
  5. ... for what its worth, I hope they change Silver Hayes a lot. Such a huge area, has a lot of potential with a decent curator. Last time still seemed like an area you just walked though to get to the Other stage / camping field/ JP, quite bleak and desolate area and has been for many years, it just doesnt seem to have its own personality/theme like other areas. Just my opinion mind, I'm sure they dance music people love the area! It has some good small stages in it, but they are all in such a massive space that they just get passed by as you walk through
  6. You can't get rid of the Glade, its probably my favourite venue, it has such a vibe and is in a stunning location within the trees. I cant imagine its a stage that costs a lot to run is it, just need the trees cut back, a stage and a canopy and a sound deck. its a wonderful place. If they wanted to cut back on costs then cut back on the new stuff like Glastonbury-on-Sea which didnt real add much last time round and didn't really seem to fit in with the festival at all to me, just seemed a really odd project. Leave the likes of the Glade well alone please, its been part of the fabric of the festival for many years and makes it stand out over so many other festivals. A really special place
  7. Having been trying to keep off these forums as just couldn't face two and half years of despondency convinced I wasn't going after failing in the last main sale and not being reminded of the festival to much Bagged two tickets today, can't believe it, daddy will be going back to his happy place after all Well chuffed, I won't be avoiding these forums now! See you on the farm!
  8. It's a bit scary, the West aren't really doing anything to physically stop the war because they understandably don't want a nuclear war with Russia. So we mpose crippling economic restrictions on them which so far Putin hasn't reacted to. I just wonder what happens when the nutter Putin announces an ultimatum that if we don't lift restrictions then he will nuke us, what happens then? The bloke is a psychopath, I wouldn't put it past him and have no idea how the West would react? Fucking scary times
  9. Apologies for being a bit behind the times, but what's the difference between posters "Neil" and "eFestivals" these days?
  10. I heard her say 'See you for a sing song at the spike at the big G you daft punks...'
  11. If it was deemed acceptable to go from 20000 cases a day to 100000 recently then it must also be acceptable to go from 20000 cases to 22000 by giving people all their freedoms back by ditching masks, especially the limited impact that increase in cases would have in hospitalisations and deaths compared to keeping them
  12. Yes they shouldn't really keep reporting death numbers and linking them to covid statistics any more, it just causes worry when people see that deaths graph without context. We should only be reporting ONS deaths data now, appreciating it wont be up to date, but will be more accurate Very simplistically, if the UK population is 70 million and average life expectancy is 80, then on average 67,000 will die every 28 days of something, or you have a 0.1% chance of dying every month, ignoring seasonality, etc. So when cases are 150,000 per day then you would expect 150 (0.1%) of those cases to die in the next 28 days in a normal year. And even more than that this time of year
  13. Yes but we were told not to do a LFT test for 90 days, but that is the test we should be doing, more than PCR, as indicates our infectiousness more than a PCR test which indicates we have been infected, which we clearly already knew!
  14. That's what we thought, bad advice supplied by test and trace, not the best response from Whitty bit probably didn't appreciate the reason why the question was asked. Must be loads of people who have tested positive for covid who won't be doing LFT tests because that was what they were told to do, but could be needlessly be spreading the virus round as they haven't done a test since because told not to. There are some quick wins there if they got the advice right and disseminated it down the chain
  15. Can anyone help on a question which was asked at the briefing and me and the missus have been asking as well. When my boys tested positive a few weeks ago we were told they shouldn't do a LFT test for 90 days as the results wouldn't be reliable. But that contradicts the guidance now that you are OK if you show 2 negative LFT tests after a previous positive PCR test. Whitty said it was be because it was LFT tests are less sensitive and show infectiousness better than PCR so why are we being told by test and trace not to do a LFT? Genuinely dont know the answer unless test and trace are giving the wrong guidance to people who have a positive pcr test?
  16. Is that true? I assume that person recovered as well? So noone has died of Omicron covid in the past 5 weeks in Scotland, is that what this is saying? Or people have died from covid but they didnt know they were had the Omicron variant? So they all died from other variants or other causes (after a positive covid test). I would be interested to see the data behind that headline

    Doves...

I see Doves have cancelled all future shows due to mental health issues. I was looking forward to seeing them next year, but hopefully I will get one last chance to see them again sometime in the future. I hope they are OK...
  18. Already a new date announced, 19th at Wembley no surprise there, I suspect they will announce more on 17th and / or 18th with London Grammar only subbing on 16th at the moment, no doubt they will sub more than just one day at Wembley
  19. Where were you in the queue when your tried for Glasgow tickets? I though the queue was for any date rather than a queue for a specific date. I was around 60000 in the queue and took about an hour to get Wembley tickets for the Tuesday (waned to catch Londion Grammar again)
  20. I think presale tickets are still on sale for Coldplay, I just go another 4 in a much better position after getting some earlier in one of the corner sections with a worse view. I had two presale codes for some reason, one when we ordered the CD and then another different code this morning, so used both, you might want to check if you had two codes as well. Will sell the first four tickets, I cant image I wont be able to sell them on or sell them back to ticketmaster
  21. I love Floating Points but I didnt really get this album to be honest. Didn't do anything for me, but I am sure I missed something somewhere!
  22. Loving this to be honest. Celeste on at the moment, fucking loving it, brilliant, fuck have I missed live music so much this past year. Enjoy it again...
