  1. Paramore / Travis Scott / Green Day Post Malone / Blink-182 / YUNGBLUD Royal Blood to sub either Paramore or Green Day.
  2. Yeah I'd probably slot her in between Paramore and TDCC. Otherwise not bad. Deftones would be a very strong NME headline booking, if the festival wish to get a band like them back in today's climate.
  3. Foals definitely have anthems. My Number, Two Steps Twice, What Went Down, Inhaler. It's like those songs were written with big festival crowds in mind.
  4. I'm going to assume/pretend we will get the NME tent back: Olivia Rodrigo / Fred Again / Glass Animals / Gunna / girlinred Flume / Easy Life Travis Scott / Ice Spice / DMA's / Beabadoobee / Mae Muller Fontaines D.C. / King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Blink-182 / YUNGBLUD / Phoebe Bridgers / Turnstile / Headie One Little Simz / Bad Boy Chiller Crew
  5. I reckon Dua Lipa will be at Glastonbury. I would like to think the festival are considering scrapping the two main stage format and bringing back the tent. It was a good idea in 2021 when lockdown and mandates were still a thing; it makes less sense now. As for Melvin's comments about the headliner who has headlined before. I'm thinking one of Muse, Green Day or Blink 182. Or Post Malone or The 1975.😂
  6. A loyalty scheme just for going within the past five years? Pah. Where's the loyalty scheme for us oldies whose first Leeds was 18 years ago?😉
  7. To be fair two of the headliners that year were artists who were at their peak in the early 90s.
  8. It always has been a young person's festival. It was the same in the '00s golden age we look back on with misty eyes.
  9. Where next for Billie Eilish? She looked really good on iPlayer last night and now she's headlined the big two in this country.
  10. He was rumoured for that this year. Even though he's a complete cringelord and he murdered great songs by Sublime and The Chats, he is undeniably one of the biggest acts in the UK right now so it wouldn't surprise me if he did it next year.
  11. Just some comment about how f**ked the country is right now before telling everyone to stick their middle fingers up. Looked like a good performance though, for someone playing mid main stage. Nowadays a lot of acts below sub perform like glorified support acts.
  12. I wonder if Rina Sawayama will go on another rant about Matt Healy.
  13. Surprised it took R&L as long as 15 years to get The Killers back, they always seem to be in this country pretty regularly and they're like the ultimate festival singalong big anthem headliner.
  14. Never been a fan, always found them a bit too "bubblegum" for my liking, but he sure does ooze charisma.

    2024 Headliners

Fender is a lot bigger right now than Foals were at their commercial peak circa What Went Down.
  16. Are the BBC actually going to upload their set?
  17. What on earth is Chase Atlantic? They sound like a combination of all the worst music trends of the past 10 years.
  18. True, but he also opened the Main Stage in 2016 and his crowd seemed a little better then. Sam Fender could spent 90 minutes reading the Wikipedia entry for 'beige' and the NME and Twitter would hail it as groundbreaking.
  19. When the crowd can't even get up for an R&L staple like Frank Turner, you know the festival isn't what it used to be. Like night and day compared to his 2013 set.
  20. This year's Glasto line-up resembled more of a classic R&L line-up than this year's R&L does.
  21. BBC are putting out a documentary about Reading and Leeds by the looks of it. I wonder if they will acknowledge the festival's history prior to 2018.
  22. No doubt. Those acts would shift tickets wherever they'd play. I've said it before, it's no co incidence that the festival has gone in a more pop direction since V was cancelled. The organisers got it right in 2019 as there was plenty of something for everyone, be it rock, pop or rap but since then it's just pandered to Capital FM listeners and TikTok addicts. Probably for the best that Rage pulled out last year because it's just no longer the festival for that kind of act.
  23. Just watching this Mimi Webb on iPlayer. Hate to sound like yer da but it's mad that ten years ago we had the likes of SOAD, Deftones and NIN playing high main stage slots, and we've gone from that to stuff like this high up the bill.

    2024 Headliners

The difference is that GNR have that aura of legendary status so they'll always headline wherever they play. Having looked, in terms of UK fests she has played 4th down at V Festival, 5th down at TITP, and subbed IOW so even at her peak she never headlined anywhere here. I can imagine her being better suited to a Miley Cyrus/Katy Perry type slot.
