  1. Just read that "Who's posted the most in this thread" page and saw I'd posted 6 times!! Can't even remember posting, usually the weather thread is just too much to read for me, let alone post!

    BTW - Make that 7 times <_<

  2. Read about Blackbud playing here on another thread and having watched the 'pyramid skin' video on TOS, noticed it is soundtracked by another (pretty good sounding) band who are playing here.

Can anyone tell me anything about it and where we could see a listing of bands?

  3. One of our crowd is leaving his missus at home. We discussed it - she would enjoy it as long as the weather is good, but if it turns to mud she would not be a good person to have about (x10!), so on balance.. not worth the risk, as it would just create a big headache for everyone if things do get mucky.
  4. Went with mates in 2002 and 2003 and my wife moaned about not being invited. At that time I was getting backstage tickets and so got tickets for both of us to go in 2004 - however I spent the 10 days before Glasto in Portugal with my mates watching Euro 2004 and the severe lack of brownie points meant I was "encouraged" to stay and look after the kids. So my wife went with a mate of hers and only had an 'OK' time.

Despite that, we went together in 2005 and it was probably my worst Glasto - we couldn't agree who to see, where to go, what to eat, what time to crash out etc. Ended up packing up and going home at 7am on Sunday. Needless to say, I've been with mates since then! We have a swap going now - the three wives of me and my main Glasto-going mates have a weekend in Spain in October to compensate for our Glasto trip!

  5. Saw the 2002 Pyramid slot and thought he was great - as someone else said on here, it was quite shambolic and he flitted between piano and guitar on stage on his own. I heard "You Were Right" that afternoon and it is still one of my favourite ever songs.

On a linked note, it seems that BDB was a late stand-in on the Other Stage in 2000 and that the other performances were scheduled. Finding this out led me to discover that the early afternoon running order on the Other Stage on Sunday in 2000 was as follows:

Mo Solid Gold, then Wilt, then Jack Lukeman, then The For Carnation (actually replaced by BDB), then Dark Star

Not sure that run of bands has stood the test of time well!! The previous day on the Other Stage at the same time was:

Soulwax, then Toploader, then Coldplay, then David Gray, then Feeder

Whatever happened to that Coldplay lot?

  6. Some more times gleaned from myspace, this time for the Park. Obviously they are not all correct again as the Memory Band and M Ward are scheduled to play at the same time.

  7. Personally I thought neil's reaction was perfectly justified; as he's pointed out

...is just as much an insult directly against all the members that post here...as the content of forums by nature are user generated. Whether that was the intention of Okky or not, I don't know, but it justified the reaction.

....I also don't think it's really necessary either to seperate the neil/efests persona, we all know it's the same guy ffs,

can Neil at times be brash, abrasive, rude, sarcastic, singleminded, disagreeable; yes

did I think immediately after reading Okky's post, "Neil's gonna come in and a minute and give him shit....ah there it is...like clockwork" ; yes :(

..but does Neil provide a valuable service, do an excellent job maintaining that service, and make enjoyable / informative / engaging / funny contributions to thread topics; YES!!

....I'd much prefer the admin to contribute to threads/discussions as Neil does, than to have some overseer just slapping people on the wrists when neccessary. You take the rough with the smooth with Neil, but that's him, and on this occasion his reaction was perfectly justified in my opinion.

  8. Will everyone stop posting for 20 minutes to give me a chance to catch up on this thread - it was only 8 pages when I started reading and its now up to 11. Ok I'm going back to page 7 now and I'll post to tell you all you can start posting again as soon as I've caught up OK? :(
