  1. You know it’s a special set when you can feel the magic sat in your living room, it looked and sounded incredible

2013 was an all timer for me, unbelievable set, I watched the encore with the strings right hand side of stage near the bar and it was just absolutely stunning, they really made it special. Fast forward ten years and watching it on tv it bored me to sleep. Where was the effort to top what they did 10 years ago, the effort to make it memorable and special, Jamie cook looked bored out of his mind at times, absolutely shocking
  3. I think it does really change from year to year, and its been like that for years, and theres always going to be crazy crushes and pinch points each year, sometimes from sheer bad luck as everyone has the same idea of going somewhere, or just from poor booking decisions. They had to shut off Williams Green on the Thursday in 2009 to stop people trying to get to see Maximo Park, that year getting out of Kasabian on the Saturday was insane. 2010 it was crazy full on the Wednesday, we had to walk all the way across the site to find some camping. 2013 turned up Wednesday late afternoon, loads of camping still left. Getting out of Rolling Stones was scary. 2017 got the coach from Leeds on the Thursday, loads of camping spaces still left.
  4. I’ll give them a listen during overtime tomorrow morning
  5. Aye they will def draw a big crowd. Our group will be there out of curiosity and if it is them we'll be staying to watch.
  6. I understand that bit, worked that out a while ago. I just cant get my head round out of all the bands out there why the first secret set I've seen at Tramlines is f**king McFly of all bands, not exactly your typical Tramlines main stage band.
  7. I think we have a winner
  8. So what do people think he's opening his set with considering he's said its a song he hasn't played in over 10 years. Would he blow peoples minds from the get go with Pinball Wizard with Pete Townsend on guitar ?

    I feel sick

It gets easier mate. I havent been since 2017, the first year not going was incredibly tough mentally as I had friends and family still going, 2019 was a family decision not to go and do other things. My wife was diagnosed with a thyroid issue late 2019 which means we cant go now as her ongoing issues means the place is way too big for her to manage.
  10. Just watching her on YouTube headline a festival in Rio this year , she’s absolutely nailing it and treated like an absolute goddess by the crowd. Unbelievable how good she has become on a big stage and the new songs sound massive, she should def headline glasto again one day
  11. Good ! Seems like a genuinely funny guy but his songs do my head in, rinse and repeat formula !!
  12. But why the secretive nature of it, its McFly ffs ! One I've seen mentioned on twitter is Lewis Capaldi.
  13. Paulo Nutini ? Cant announce him outright as he's headlining Latitude festival ?
  14. The only gig they've got listed as well is Tramlines, interesting !

She was incredible in the tent last year at Tramlines, she'll absolutely kill it on West Holts, the remix she did of Milkshake with Smells Like Teen Spirit was unreal.

I've had two five pound bets with my brother. 1, They'll end the main set with A Certain Romance like they did in 2013 (btw one of my favorite ever Glasto performances, watching the encore with the strings near the Mandella bar with a fresh cold cider was just magical) 2, They'll do something special, like the string section in 2013, during the encore. My brother....."Miles Kane coming out for 505 doesnt count" 🤣
  17. I think both Bloc Party and Sugababes will be main stage tbh, Bloc Party fit the type of nostalgic acts that usually play main stage and Sugababes were absolutely packing out tents last year, apparently it was scary the crowd they pulled at Glasto last year, so I know its not normally the type of act that makes the Tramlines main stage but I could see T'Other stage being crazy if they were playing there.
  18. Aye, Im turning 41 in June, still like a lot of current music, but for me im happier with this lineup then I was from last years bar the headliners, who were fantastic last year. I watched 2-3 bands a day last year, although on the Saturday that was due to sitting in VIP drinking like a fish after Russel Kane, if my group can get on their toes and get out of the accommodation early this year I could easily go in early all 3 days as theres that much I want to see, and I still think Tramlines will drop in some gems on the next few announcements, a bit like they did when announcing Kelis last year, who was unbelievable.
  19. We saw 2-3 bands each day last year and still had a fantastic time and great value, although we did get in early on the saturday last year, watched Russel Kane then got hammered in VIP until The Vaccines
  20. Do we reckon from pale waves upwards is main stage for the Friday ? If so that’s a decent run !! Can’t wait to see Bloc Party
  21. Ashcroft with PH&JA sub is a bit more appealing
  22. Its a weak and safe set of headliners if that's true. There's no one in that trio that's gonna cause the scenes that Kasabian did last year, or Dizzee the year before (I know he was a sub but its one of my favorite festival sets ever, it was crazy).
  23. Oh no definitely not a headliner, like you said third down one day, similar placing to latitude main stage last year
