  1. Here's an interesting take on the approach to dealing with excessive ticket applications.

I'm looking to book a popular shuttle bus in Canada. Bookings open in 20 minutes.

Look what the site says "places in queue allocated randomly"

How about that for Glasto ticket sale??

i saw them at a festival about 20 years ago, they were fabulous. 🙂

    Oh bugger.

After watching Roger Waters my son and I took the decision to stay and watch Rod Stewart rather than move to Air.

    BIG BIG MISTAKE. ETERNALLY REGRETTED

I think everyone is expecting a live set as she posted this on Facebook.

"Delighted beyond belief to be headlining Thursday night at GLASTONBURY!!
The first live band ever to do so…
    See you there"

Also, the below is on Camp Bestival website, so clearly this year she is going with a live format at some of her bookings. Maybe her DJ sets will go back to being billed as Sister Bliss.

"WE ARE SO HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE RETURN OF FAITHLESS TO THE LIVE ARENA AFTER 8 YEARS AWAY, AND WE CAN'T THINK OF A BETTER WAY TO RETURN THAN TO THE HALLOWED FIELDS OF CAMP BESTIVAL, IN ALL THEIR JOYFUL GLORY. THIS WILL BE ONE BIG CELEBRATION - WE CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO COME JOIN US, IT'S GOING TO BE AN EXCITING SUMMER AHEAD."

    SISTER BLISS, FAITHLESS

    Neah

It's not a Sister Bliss DJ set

It's Sister Bliss with a sessions backing band.

"failed to get contracts with Madonna, Taylor Swift, O-Rod or Stevie Nicks" is that a fact or just speculation? I think calling the artists "decidedly 2nd string Plan D artists" is a bit mean. Maybe you don't like them, their music, their music genre or don't know them but it doesn't make them second class.

I dislike the term "second class" and that's not what I said.

In terms of fact or speculation there have been pages of fact? /speculation? on these e-fest pages several of which chatter would imply ate/were "in the know" - and add Stevie Wonder to that list, but of course he's not female

And do you really believe thay Emily had SZA booked a year or so ago when she first said she had 2 female headliners?

Nah. Why would SZA getting the call affect so many other things?

If any one of the 4 acts I mentioned had been on the poster I reckon the reactions would have been much more "Wooo.. They got...??"

  6. I reckon that Emily shot herself in the foot when she declared LAST YEAR that she had 2 female headliners and female legend and then failed to get contracts with Madonna, Taylor Swift, O-Rod or Stevie Nicks

Ended up with decidedly 2nd string Plan D artists

But hey, headliners probably relatively cheap so more money for charity??

  7. 1st was 1998. Only failed to get tickets twice since then

First time I've felt like giving the ticket up

Grim doesn't start to describe it.

Did Emily shoot herself in the foot by declaring LAST YEAR that she'd got 2 female headliners and then didn't get a contract with Madonna, Taylor Swift, or O-Rod and has therefore had to go to 2nd string.

i reckon they'll just stick a single page ad in next weeks NME

It's be surprised at an ad

That opens it up for pre-official-announcement leaks

Announcing "All 3 headliners are female - O-Rod, Dua Lipa, and SZA". Would be far too much

I can't herlp thinking every time I see reference to O-Rod here that we are talking about a firm of 24 hour drainage unblockers

By the same token, surely they wouldn't book Billie Eilish? The demographic is probably just as young. Maybe even younger.

At least I'd heard of Billy Eilish and had even heard some of her tunes (and I don't just mean the Bond theme).

Hadn't heard of SZA until they popped up in this thread (I'm 71 by the way 🤣)

Almost certainly bollocks but Human League opening Other is such a weirdly specific detail that is has me second guessing myself.

Maybe they're running with a noon-time cheese slot

    Rick Astley last year

    Human League this yeat

  12. I'm getting way too old for this sh*t.

I saw reference to O-Rod and thought "I've never heard of O-Rod", just as I'd never heard of Dave until his name cropped up in the "2023 Headliners?" thread last year.

So, I had to Google O-Rod.......
