  1. Hello! Yes that was me! Sorry for my late reply. That was a while ago - pre a working BBC webcam. More recently I used to post the high-res panoramic photos from our garden, but after Arcadia got annoyed that it showed their crane before they revealed it themselves, I was asked to stop posting them. Sorry 😞

And the villagers deserve the event and our eternal gratitude after allowing us to descent in our thousands every year.

Tbh, at £120 for a family of 4 (kids too old for the £10 ticket, but aren't earning enough yet) I don't see the event as much of a thank you. (The free Glastonbury festival tickets, I see as a thank you.) We haven't been able to go since it cost £7 a ticket and was in a marquee at the Pilton Show. So I don't see it as an event for locals; I see it as a fundraiser for locals. The money raised goes to any Pilton group that applies for some - it was the only income the Pilton youth club had while I was running it, and a necessary and needed amount of money for the village, which has several groups and associations kept going probably because of it.

Just thought I'd put in my two penny's worth!

I've got a family meal at the Crossways in North Wootton on Sunday... How long should I give myself to arrive from Shepton?!

Just don't come into Pilton the A37 way - (traders are routed in through Pylle) so come in along the B3136, onto the A361 and then off to North Wootton -  that road isn't closed to the public until Tuesday. It'll be busier than usual, but you shouldn't get stuck unless they've changed the route traders are brought in.

    Have a nice meal!

I'd love to watch a video of them all convoying in. Must be great to watch them all arrive.

Great to look at. Not so great when you're stuck amongst them trying to get down the A37 on the Sunday before! haha!

  5. Just to be clear, I did agree to stop taking the photos. However, if you were to take a photo of the woman next door sunbathing and post it, but she already had a webcam pointed at her garden (trying not to type lady garden) for you and the rest of the world to see; and then she also posts a public video in her garden showing everyone how she gets ready to sunbathe; wouldn't you be a little bit baffled if you get the blame for people who might want to peep over her fence? (and possibly break their ankle whilst doing it.)

I don't need to take a photo of Arcadia - I'm lucky enough to be able to see it. I don't take them for the fame or glory; it's simply because I know that before we moved here I would have loved to see photos of the site coming together - it all adds to the excitement. People here have asked for the photos, and we're happy to oblige, and in return we get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing we've helped with the enjoyment of anticipation for the festival. That's all.

  6. I know legally I can take photos from my own land and do what I want with them, however it's a tricky situation - I don't want to annoy Glastonbury Festivals. BUT now I've discovered that Arcadia have released that video (which I didn't know about this morning) I'm a bit pissed off actually that they're blaming me for members of the public coming onto the site to have a look at it?!! Once the fence is up, I don't see why the photos can't resume. And yes, if they want to talk to me honestly about wanting to keep it secret, rather than giving me (what I suspect is) crap about health and safety, I can miss that bit of the landscape out. We'll see if the conversation continues.
