  1. Two of our friends have dropped out of the resales so just two to get now!
  2. The last time I saw the Silver Hayes one was 2017.
  3. I would hope so, balance window shuts this Friday.....hopefully with bank holiday etc we will have some news by 11th April.
  4. We can't be far off an announcement now....
  5. either weekend of 14-16th April or 21st-23rd April.
  6. That would be my tactic too. 🙂 Should be on site by 12...throw your stuff in the tent then down the hill onto the main site and straight into the bars. 🙂
  7. 1. Bottle of Lucozade sport (with two Neurofen) 2. Belvita 3. Packet of crisps 4. Can of red bull Ready for the day. 😎
  8. There's plenty of options, also given that Glasgow is so far whoever is driving is going to be completely shattered before the festival even starts if they do 6-7 hours driving, no sleep then straight into the festival. Could even break the journey by doing 4-5 hours Tues evening then do the last two Weds am then straight into WV. Surely the beauty of WV is that you don't need to do things like driving through the night etc and can just rock up at any point with everything all arranged for you and no queues.
  9. If it was me I would be more inclined to travel down Tuesday afternoon and stay in a nearby hotel, get a full nights sleep then into WV, or leave Glasgow early Weds AM and sail straight into WV at lunchtime. No point depriving yourself of sleep before the festival has started when you don't need to.
  10. I would agree with this, probably better to get a full nights sleep Tuesday evening, then leave at 6-7am Weds morning so you arrive by 1-2pm...straight into Worthy View, then down onto the main site and straight on it. 🙂
  11. I was on holiday in Paris with my family when Be Here Now came out......it was advertised EVERYWHERE on public transport and the mass hype around it was a pretty big deal, you got to remember there weren't many outlets for music at the time bar TOTP, the Chart Show or those who had SKY even then only had two channels. If a band had something (an album) to promote, you fucking knew about it!
  12. It does depend when you're arriving though. Someone I know has got the train down Weds evening after work a few times and he's pretty much sailed in, first on the shuttle coaches (with hardly anyone else on them) and then walked straight through the gates.
  13. Depends on mode of transport. Car: tend to leave Abingdon/Oxford around 4am on the Wednesday... park up about 6.30am or so....get straight in the queue (usually Ped gate B or C), then its anyone's guess when we get through the gates....once in, set up then usually an hour or so later go back to the car for booze/camping chairs etc. See tickets coach: Pre festival I take camping chairs and booze to friends on GA tickets for them to bring in their car, Weds AM get coach from Oxford usually in Ped Gate A queue by 10am or so, get in and meet the GA friends at camp, set up our tents, then go to their car to collect our booze and chairs etc. Usually done and dusted by 3pm or so.
  14. Yet, I've used it twice (2015 & 2022) and been asked for my ticket both times! 🙂
  15. You can’t be far from me then! (Abingdon)

    Glastocam!

Can't see me, my gf or dog when we visited on 29th Dec 2022! 😞
  17. I think because largely most of the film is recorded outside the festival, and mostly focuses on the people running and living near it.....really does show the other side to having a major event held by your home that's not used to that sort of thing.....as much as we love the festival there's no doubt (for me at least) that during the 80s and early 90s it was carnage for those living close by.
  18. I used to work for Cancer Research and their office is opposite Oxfam's big HQ. 🙂
  19. I moved house just before paying the balance for the 2017 festival, I updated the delivery address with see tickets - although my actual ticket had my old address on it, however, they put a white sticker label over the see through window with my new address on it.
  20. Just seen this on getty from 1995.....weird to see the (now) Park & Arcadia fields being used as the West Car parks!
  21. That didn't happen for the 2017 festival!
  22. ha! yeh its a complete nightmare at the moment....luckily I'm a STH so don't need to worry about matchday sales, but plenty of my mates are silver members and have been moaning this season....
  23. It was(is) a terrible pinch point, especially post headliners, Park, Arcadia, toilets, food stalls, pennards all in close range...I didn't see any crushing as such but it was very congested a few times and I think some of the stewards didn't really know what to do. Hopefully it was a one off as I haven't seen it like that before and have camped in that area for last 7-8 years....
  24. Yeh, I wouldn't call them crushes either...just a lot of people trying to get to the same place at the same time....I've seen it a lot worse in other years....I was camped in the bit of green to the left of where it says Sweet Charity on your screen grab.....was interesting trying to get our camp to regroup on the Friday night (we had a mare!)
