Yeah that always had the ring, but the field was smaller this year. So the speakers moved in. Ive been there 19, 17, 16 and that space was definitely reduced this year.

The field before pangea was bigger. They made it smaller this year. And it used to have 2 bars, one was small, this year both sides were massive bars.

Put Carmegeddon in the bin. We have the palais to watch movies, area is nothing short of a vanity project.

Agreed on this. Or just schedule up and coming acts. Only one way in from the top, If not coming from the other stage. Think if they moved it, and kept lineup the same it would move people out.

I was thinking before, that maybe the JP tent needs to be moved up towards Carmegeddon. It used to be up and coming bands, but is now filled with bands that draw big crowds. Anyone coming from cider bus side can only pass from the top on a walkway.

One of the last living musical legends. It was special. It was definitely a moment, one which will be remembered for Glasto for a long time. Its all you can ask for, and it's was everything and more. When he's gone, we will talk amongst ourselves about being fortunate enough to be there 🙂

It is, and it's how Ive felt, the last 2. Lots of it is an age thing, but it's, not just about being about being old. It's how the younger generation view and enjoy themselves. Now that's not my issue, and not there's, they deserve it, it's the best years of there lives, I just feel, that the new generation are not so much about the vibe, the ethos and the history of the festival I guess. However that is a sign of the change in society, festivals and partying I guess. Who am I to call out people enjoying themselves.. I won't do it. I will say the festival will shift again, and the ethos, magic, community feel lost as we oldskool move on. The festival has to stay relevant, sadly, things will be lost to make that happen and that's just life.

Yep, Glastonbury need to keep a certain clientele on board, they need the money to run it. Looking through tiktok the amount of people who seemingly got in is just amazing. People just walking in, quite literally. Some security/stewards posting video's outside the wall saying they can hear russling in the bushes and aren't going to trying to take down any grown men. These stewards/security are just young girls ffs. Something obviously went massively wrong with the security outside the wall this year.

Just had a quick Google, Glastonbury overcrowding to see if any outlet's reporting yet and first article was from 2010 when overcrowding and crushing was raised by the council and they advised more areas and smaller stages on earlier to combat it. I spoke to someone involved in the build and a lot of big tents were only put up the weekend before the festival started. Seems like they were way behind schedule in the build, which is why maybe some things were missing.

Yeah I think the one next to it was definitely closed, as I'm 100% sure they had toilets there, but when I went across, it had metal sheeting and was closed off. Maybe for crew camping and had tents next to the boarding.

If you look at the glastonbury app, and the arcadia map it has 6 entry/exit points. The map was wrong, as some of those entry exits were removed and tents were now there.

There is always lots of scousers. 😂 15/20 years ago would of been a nightmare, when fence was breached. If they can afford to camp at worthy view they don't need to be robbing from people 😂 Love Liverpool and scousers. Different generation now 👍

This what's wrong with the place..for whatever reason, punters who had no interest in Noel or Macca were using that to move through either to San Remo or other stage, John peel. I never want to pigeon hole anyone but alot of the people moving on the top of the field were the new blood of the festival I think. I think it's quite possible that the issues could be being caused by the younger generation taking a different idea of the festival and who they want to see and the movement that follows. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all btw. But it could explain the huge influx of crowds in certain areas very quickly. Its a bit controversial this and not meant to be, so I hope I've not offended anyone. In hindsight though, anyone trying to get to JP for Headliner would have to pass through there or go via Other Stage. I don't know, I honestly believe it's been to busy this year, or people are not spreading across the stages and just moving for the same acts.

I have had the best times of my life here, and was pretty much spent after 2018 and stumbled across tickets for 2019. I love this place, but it's started to become, especially this year, tiring and arduous to just move across the site. Its a probably a mix of things, age etc, but it's definitely moved in a different direction, as have I I guess. I'm heading to healing Fields today, permiculture etc. Hopefully that rejuvenates me. 😁

Whilst BBC make it like a national holiday.. people will always keep on coming. But beyond that, West Campervan, the Farmer that owns that land. Wanted to make more money. So it became stickylinch. A sterile, bell tent area, than instead of me and you paying 125 for our van. People pay 1000 for one. And they have filled the field. Eavis can't say anything, at all. That should tell you all about Glastonbury and what it future holds.

I've never seen so many people on a Thursday. It was bizarre. And couldn't quite believe, on my chair so many people had turned up. I couldn't give a shit, just wanted a pint. But then I couldn't leave and was stuck in crush on Bella's bridge, with my mum of 74. That's when I knew it had been oversold. I was seeing pics of the Park, full of thousands and them trying to shut down Williams green. I won't be coming back again, 14 years deep, and I love the place to bits, it's everything to me, but I won't fucking walk around constantly over congested areas, that previously made it for me

And sounding stupid, that is an understandable bottleneck. It's always been tight moving through there. This year is completely different. Bottleneck on Bella's bridge, Arcadia to Park. I guess nobody goes Shangri La anymore, as everyone is up by the spider and park.

Williams Green on Thursday was a sign of things to come. You know it's bad, when they are blocking off the pyramid before the cider bus to stop people gaining access. Absolute shambles of movement of large crowds this year. They have fucked with the layout, Arcadia especially. It used to have an entry and access point below the bar on the left hand side. It's all fenced off now. So your in and out limited. Arcadia was always open and you could approach from different pathways. It's also got smaller. Festival has been oversold for me, I love it to bits, but there are places bottlenecked, that shouldn't be. Thats too many tickets being sold
