  1. Why's that? Project Horizon will begin construction next year, and Bianca Sammut confirmed the purchase of new flats (though no date on them, everybody assumes it's next year, but may not be.)
  2. People always have and always well spend more money in certain sectors of the UK leisure industry during times of economic downturn. I've done a lot of research on this revolving around theme parks. During past economic issues, such as recessions etc, Alton Towers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and others have all enjoyed their best years. This has been attributed to people choosing to do things in the UK rather than have expensive holidays abroad. We don't have the figures yet, but this seems to be happening again. With much bigger queues at Alton Towers and Thorpe Park last year, and Merlin Entertainments seemingly willing to make massive investments into all of their UK parks over the next 2 years. (Thorpe is getting the UK's biggest and fastest coaster ever, Chessington just got a huge (for them) new coaster, Alton Towers has had Nemesis completely rebuilt for next year, is getting several new flat rides for next year and another coaster will begin construction next year!) I wonder if this crosses over to Festivals too?
  3. Well done... After nearly 13 years of vaping, just this October I started reducing my nicotine down from 18mg, and am now down to 3 bottles of 6mg left before I move to zero... Hopefully I'll be off them by glasto.
  4. That's not entirely true is it? There's the tents, yes, but they don't belong to Glastonbury, (they're from podpads or whatever they're called) so the prices will have gone up for those too. But there's also Toilets Showers Electrical infrastructure (Generators) Fuel for the generators Water Infrastructure Trackway Fencing Security Land Rental And that's just off the top of my head, all of these will have risen in price in that time, some of them a lot more than 30%. That being said, I wouldn't say I disagree with the point you were making, there may well be additional profit being sought on the glamping options, and why not if there's demand? As I said before, it's a luxury, not an essential, and if demand massively outstrips supply, then bump those prices up to keep costs down for others elsewhere elsewhere.
  5. Costs may not have risen that much (although I wouldn't be surprised if they have, at the pub our commercial energy rates alone are 3x or 200% higher than they were in 2019) but demand has definitely gone up... Love Fields are sold out already! I'd expect the prices of onsite accomodation to continue rising well above inflation year on year, for as long as there is way more demand than supply. It is after all a luxury, not a necessity. A tipi is now £1750 on site...
  6. Glad this thread has come back up... Those that tried the VOOPOO Vinci that @frostypaw recommended, how did you get on? @kerplunk @gfa
  7. yeh and you can feel the change in atmosphere immediately, not just because everyone starts dancing, but because everyone suddenly starts interacting with those around them, like they've just realised they're not alone... The difference really is incredible, for one song, the audience suddenly comes alive and feels 'as one.'
  8. Like this the whole way through Coldplay... And near the front too!!! I'm not exaggerating, the whole damn show! I like to grab a photo or even a short video from time to time, but keeping your phone up the entire show is sh*tty thing to do. Even crazier when all 4 people in the same group are doing it side by side... I mean ffs, can you not just pass one copy around?
  9. Love Fields has pretty much sold out of PYO this year already... We booked them months after the tickets last year, and they were advertising pitches right up to the week of the festival (when they eventually did sell out I believe.) Lots of folk who rely on them as a fall back if they can't get official camper tickets are going to be very disappointed this year. We've gone Love Fields again next year, just for the location and how easy arrival was. It's insanely expensive, but worth it between you to be right next to gate D, and able to arrive as and when you like, and drive right up to your pitch. The other perks, showers, toilets, power, etc, are nice little bonuses, and that nice cool covered shady bar with plenty of seating was a godsend for time outs last year. But really it's all about location and convenience.
  10. That's bloody miles away, why would anybody pay a grand to stay that far away?
  11. Once the main festival kicked in it was... Wasn't Wednesday and Thursday though, was bloody scorching.
  12. I hope it rains none stop, but only on your tent and wherever you're stood... 🤣🤣🤣 Come on, be honest, you don't 'WANT' the unbearable heat we've had at times the last 2 years? 20c and overcast, 20c and overcast, 20c and overcast....
  13. No not at all... I don't WANT bad weather, I just don't want a scorcher either... 15c and sunny is too warm for @FuzzyDunlop 🤣
  14. Rather a wet one than the heat of some days this year to be honest... Sorry, but it was unbearable at times. Ideally 20c and dry but overcast, is that being too picky? Edit: Haha Snap @clasher
  15. Surely due a wet one? Never been to a wet glasto, but I had a blast at (other) festivals in the mud this year, so I'm not worried. Imagine the biggest issue is just allowing extra time to get anywhere. (And minimising how many times you fall on your arse / mastering not spilling a drop when slipping over.)
  16. Both groups through 9:19 and 9:45 🙂 See you in the fields. 🤩

You really shouldn't have to preface your views with that, however I understand why you did, and it's appreciated. 👍 It's not about religion, really... Yes, it's long, (8 mins) but watch the whole thing if you can.
  19. You might need to elaborate. I saw... O-Rod Happier Bastille Happier Billie Happier Than Ever Just off the top of my head...
  20. 4 groups out of 12 for us, so 33.33%... Not bad at all. And the sold out tweets took their time coming too... Does this bode well for Sunday?
  21. Is nobody bored of this debate year in year out yet? Plenty of influencers in general, campers, and official hospitality camping... Plenty of us broke sods scrimping and saving to make our festival a little easier in glamping like Love Fields... It's a stupid debate that makes no sense to anybody who's experienced both sides of festivals.
  22. Had a sense of Dejavu when I saw our local station earlier... Remember why now.

I think that timer is for the singles chart... The top 40 🙂
