Yeah, you’re right. I just don’t like them

The idea of them or The Offspring or similar sort of pop punk bands playing in 2022 just seems a bit naff and nostalgic. Why not just go to Download. Looking forward to seeing Turnstile though.
  3. I hate the word use of the word "clash" and things like "clashtastic" "clashtastrophe"
  4. Controversial opinion threads on forums are always such a bad idea. You think it’s gonna be people saying “oh, actually I quite like mud!” But in reality it’s 42 pages of arguing about racism and affirmative action. Depressing.
  5. Could you try answering that again please with a bit more context, cheers
  6. Why do people want cold weather?
  7. Yeah those are all fair points, really. Tbh I’m looking at it as more of a camping holiday / chance to hear The Long and Winding Road while buzzing off my tits, than an actual music festival at this point.
  8. The headliners are generally brilliant tbh, it’s all the shite like The Hoosiers, Elbow, McFly and The Libertines and all the soundalike radio 6 bands like foals etc I’m disappointed by.
  9. Yeah, I'm 100% certain I'll enjoy being there and soaking up the atmosphere with friends and strangers alike. But I'm going through clash finder and there's like 4 acts I want to see on Saturday for example? Just bit of a shame. I imagined that because this was the defacto 50th anniversary, it would be filled to the gills with new and current music from UK and abroad, undeniably legendary acts, with the odd obvious crowd pleaser thrown in. The fact that it caters to everyone and doesn't really have the same budget or curation as other festivals is becoming really clear to me. But it seems this one is worse than other years? The stage that had Wu Tang Clan in 2019 has a...brass covers band.
  10. Isle of White line up is worse, but also kind of similar? Frustrating mix of decent enough, radio friendly acts, but that play literally everywhere all the time / aren't really very "current" (Jessie Ware, Blossoms, Vaccines) and acts that feel a bit gimmicky/past it (Happy Mondays, Kasabian, The Kooks, Shaggy). Really glad to be going to Glastonbury for the first time...but it'll probably be the last if this lineup is an indication of how it usually is.

More of a Reading and Leeds type band aren't they? I'd be so disappointed if they were to play.
  12. Lol I meant elbow- always get those two confused!
  13. At least they got Doves, The Hoosiers and Libertines!
  14. So boring. Of all the artists currently touring right now, why three you could see literally anywhere else as a surprise act.
  15. Why is there such hunger to see Paolo Nutini, not heard anyone talk about him since 2005
  16. Cheers. I think I have my "if I don't see this, they'll probably die soon" must sees mentally sorted. Just need to think of the other bands I'd like to see / figure out if I'll actually stay up late enough to watch some of the DJs
  17. Right, so. As a first timer, how do i actually go about making a schedule for what to see?
  18. That’s just bonkers
  19. They really do. Who'd have thought such a milquetoast band would be so divisive.
  20. I honestly have no idea what you're talking about when you refer to "advocating best before dates". I have no knowledge of the performances you're referring to either. All I'm saying is Elbow are a very middle of the road band who don't have either a nostalgic appeal or feel very relevant in 2022. Comparing them to the artists on the flyer you've posted is strange as they genuinely don't hold a candle to any of them.
  21. Ah, that's such a shame. Wonder what the 50th would have been like had it gone ahead.
