Victorious Festival 2024 10th Anniversary
kelstar replied to Jack01825's topic in other UK festivals
Im a local, so cant say too much on the camping, but I know there is nothing in the form of pubs/clubs that would be open near the campsite (I live about 0.5mile from it) and I think I have seen that they try and keep the campsite fairly quite after a certain time, due to it just being a massive field, split into zones, so your fairly close to families. Your best bet, is to stay near the festival, as there are plenty of pubs and clubs, as the others have said. These are pretty much on the festival doorstep. However you will need to get back to the campsite afterwards, and the festival campsite buses may have stopped. You will need to get a taxi, which will cost £12-£20 or the local bus, which runs 24hrs and is hourly I believe, which will take about 30-45mins and has a bit of a walk to campsite (10-15mins) In the terms of the cost of the campsite. To buy a weekend ticket (No camping) or a weekend ticket with Camping - It costs the same £210 plus fees. So technically your camping is free. But if you use the buses, it is £35 per person per day. -
Victorious Festival 2024 10th Anniversary

I would of thought they would keep drip feeding info, build the excitement and keep the festival a talking point.......it just feels very forgotten. Victorious has so much potential to be awesome, but it just feels meh! Although a lot of people have said the same about other festivals x -

They just keep churning out the old news. They just seems to be no excitement over this years victorious. -

I am surprised there is nothing on the website too. Especially as last year about 8 or 9 acts from the beats stage made the main poster (Including the 3 beats headliners) although I dont think it was a mistake, them posting it. Just shocked they not acknowledged them on main website or app for that matter. -

There is a cafe in the skatepark. As they are in the festival fences, they put a stall outside the front entrance to skatepark and were selling a range of cheap and cheerful food and drinks. (Not the normal all year prices, as it’s a festival and a chance to make money for the cafe, but much cheaper than other vendors) although I have heard the cafe has new owners and had a refit end of last year, so got to see if they do the same sort of thing for Victorious this year. -

We went for Jacket Potatoes there! Found the food bloody awesome. Pipping hot, plentiful and much cheaper than most places xx -

I think most of Victorious go in with pouches strapped to them. My problem is going in with my daughter who needs a drink every hour and eating is every 2-3 hours! Costs a bloody fortune. Although I found one of the cheapest places for food was southsea skatepark last year! -

If I remember, you’re a local??? Glad your feeling the same, you get a few people who are excited, but there definitely isn’t the same buzz in Portsmouth for Victorious this year. I really think it’s a shame, as Victorious has so much potential -

Last year, we knew the stages by May, but the actual times went out early July. Some of the acts/stages have been put on website, but nothing been updated in months, since before the second announcement. -

For me, summer and a Bank holiday, if I wasnt doing anything, I would probably be in Southsea anyhow....so for me its just buying our food and drinks each day. (And to be honest, we usually have a big brunch at home to keep us going till later in the afternoon) But I totally get all the extra costs you guys have to pay, hotels, travel, etc. for a festival with very little buzz about it. Its a tough one xx -

Im local, so I bought a weekend ticket for £145 plus 11.60 booking fee on early bird one, because I'd be going in some way whatever the line up- its on my doorstep. If I wanted to buy the weekend ticket now its £226.80 To be honest, with the line up, even as a local, it would be a no from me- I might of considered going for one day. I dont know if its just me, but their seems to be no buzz about Victorious this year, some people are happy, but it just feels flat, no excitement- Ive even heard people calling it Groundhog day. I suppose the good thing for me, is, I dont have to go in all day, I can travel day later, leave early and we can go in and out, therefore I dont have to pay the over inflated food and drinks prices all day. Which will save me a fortune x -

I am now interested in what they will do with the D-DAY car park, that's a big space - although I agree, not a lot more will be announced. as they will put some of the beats acts on the poster (They had 2 or 3 from each day last year) -

A weekend camping ticket is the same price as non camping ticket for an adult, however if you chose to camp, you need to know the following If you park in the campsite parking its £25.00 for weekend (Free street parking is a little bit of a trek with all your camp stuff) If you use the campsite buses to go to festival, it costs £35 per adult plus booking fee
