  1. I cannot believe that in the year of our Lord 2024 that the best Saturday night option at Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts this year is Ocean Colour Scene. Jesus f**king Christ!

Happy to debate! Oasis are my favourite band ever, I’ve met both Gallaghers on solo tours.

I don’t like comparing Glasto to Reading, I know headliners overlap but Glasto should strive to be ‘bigger’ than Reading.

Liam headlined Knebworth if the strength of the oasis Knebworth anniversary , as I say I’m a fan, I was at knebworth, but Liam don’t play Knebworth if oasis hadn’t, it was a celebration of that gig and oasis.

I love him, maybe that’s a plot twist haha! He played sub in 2019 and is doing the o2 on his Oasis tour, I truly don’t think he should headline

Whether he "should" is another question, but if any other act was pulling the numbers he does they would be considered to certainty to do it at some point.

FWIW I don't think he ever will either.

He also thinks Liam Gallagher would headline, Oasis are my favourite band ever but that is laughable unless he was a fill in

Liam has headlined Reading/Leeds and played to hundreds of thousands at Knebworth in the last couple of years.

You don't have to like him, but by any objective metric he's big enough to headline on his own.

Of those who'll be putting their ticket back in, how many of those is a negative reaction to the initial poster though? A very small fraction, I'd imagine

Yeah there should be “giving up due to lineup” and “giving up for other reasons”.

Other stage headliners look fairly weak (National excluded) as do Pyramid Subs. Third down last time had Capaldi (mega star) and Foos (obv playing well below their billing).

I think this year has objectively smaller artists looking at it

TBF 2023 wasn't stellar either, take Elton out and it suffers a lot.

For comparison the 2022 poster in terms of "drop everything to see"

Kendrick, Macca, Diana Ross, Wet Leg, Little Simz, Lorde, Confidence Man, Sam Fender...

Just the way it goes i guess. Who would have matched that description for 2023 for you out of curiosity?

From the first poster (which only had the half the names of this year's)?

    Elton, Lana, Lizzo

    Added later:

    Murder Capital, Churnups,

    It's.... alright, I guess.

A fair few I want to see but have either already seen or will be doing so ahead of the festival. There's absolutely no "WOW" moment,  no-one that pleasantly surprised me. My 100%, definitely will be there unless they clash with each other list is a disappointingly small 4 acts. Underwhelming doesn't really cover it.

Really need Avalon to save the day.

The good news is I only discovered 2 of my must sees when the WH line-up leaked, so with some digging, I may find more.

Not sure there's a single "100% no matter what" act on there for me.
