Evanescence and VV clashing is shocking.

I'm just glad I got to see VV earlier in the year!

Alexisonfire clashing with Three Days Graces makes me grateful I saw Alexisonfire last year at Slammy D

If you have a day ticket for one of the days can you still enter District X?

No because it's in the camping area. I mean you could try sneak in, wouldn't have been difficult last year as barely anyone checked wristbands on the way back in to camp.

  3. I definitely think the capacity needs lowering, rather than increasing the venue size.

I know it's all about money making for the SD Organisers, so they'll want it bigger and bigger to earn as much as they can.

But for a day festival it needs to be kept smaller, or you'll end up not being able to get to half of the stages if they're miles apart.

  4. My only concerns after attending SD North yesterday were

    - who's idea was it to put all of the food vendors in the middle, facing each other, where a sea of people are also walking in opposite directions trying to get from one stage to another.

    - why wouldn't you open both sides of the Kerrang tent to allow more room for people to pass through. So many of us got trapped and crushed yesterday because people were trying to get in at the same time people were trying to get out. Not having a break between bands meant no wiggle room for crowds to disperse.

I got really lucky with parking, the queue on the way in moved steadily and I got parked within 13 minutes. Then as I was leaving at the end, I timed it just right when they'd opened the 2nd gate at car park one, so it took me 11 minutes to get out (and have some girls a lift to the Morrisons where they were getting picked up from).

Oh no we're miles away in Camping Plus 😩😩😩

Was hoping it was gunna be closer but hey ho.

I will have to do some digging to find out which luxury showers we'll be using because it says it's included with Camping Plus ticket, and I'll be pissed if we have to walk all the way over to Refresh Retreat 😭

Folks who have got tickets through ticketmaster, are they virtual tickets or physical? Just wondering if I can buy a car park ticket the day before I go for a day and present the ticket on my phone of if I need to buy it in advance.

Thank you all for your help in advance.

Last year I panicked because my car park ticket hadn't arrived in the post, so I emailed them on the 6th June and they replied saying it was being delivered on the 7th (it was) but they also said:

"However, I've also checked with the venue and the Donington Park is a system venue event. There's nothing to worry about, if you show your pre-event email as proof of purchase you will be able to enter the camping car park with your booking reference number + photo ID."

    Hope that helps ☺️

  7. It's been a long time since I was at Download, but, from my festival experience I can honestly say

    - get there as early as you can,

    - pack in a way that you can carry it over a long distance as it isn't a short walk

    - choose your spot wisely (you might think you'd want to be close to toilets, but think of the smell and people queuing around you, or close to the path (but what about being so open).

    - tent size isn't limited, however, if it is only you or you and a friend in a tent, maybe don't buy a huge one and take up too much space (other people need to camp too remember 😂

    - if there is a group of you going, lots of people camp in a circle, face their tents inwards, and bring a gazebo so if it rains you can still hang out together but undercover.

    - don't be afraid to make friends with your tent neighbours ☺️

Had a super day yesterday - drank far too much, but loved the bands.

Bottom Line, Blood Youth, Roam, Snuff, McFly, A, Spunge, Antiflag, Alk3, Frank T and first couple of from NOFX.

My voice is hoarse, my ribs hurt and I'm so hungover, but such a fab time.

Merch ran out of L / XL tshirts pretty quick though.

I don't understand why merch always order so many smalls and mediums, because TONNES of slim people will buy oversized Tees and hoodies, but no one who's an L/XL/XXL will buy a small or medium 😭 gutted I couldn't get anything 😒

Was at north, quality day got to the front for funeral for a friend was probably my favourite set. The tent is in such an odd place, there was quite a bit of space on one side but everyone congregates near the only side you can get in and no one moves over, they should put a walkway around the back so you can get in from the other side.

Predictions for next year? Maybe Sum 41 will play, apart from them really not sure on headliners unless someone like Offspring?

I was thinking about the lineup next year, and seeing as it's only a week before download, I reckon a fair few will play both.
