  1. His first ever liveshow? Thats pretty big for them. 22y old me would have booked a ticket to LA on the spot. Hopefully he doesnt suck, that would ruin the mystique built up over 10 years...
  2. I have started to explore the undercard, and listening to Sudan Archives right now. Like it a lot! Got a major TuneYards feeling, and wasnt surprised at all when I searched and saw that they have been touring together. It has begun... finding the 10 000 artists that I didnt know I wanted to see in Nov, but in June have to walk as fast as I can on tired legs from Cupra to Dice to check out.
  3. Are there any reason why he wouldnt? Btw, I know many liked the organic set that Strokes played in June after watching the ultra choreographed Dua Lipa set. But for me it got annoying and weird after a while, even for Julian. We also didnt get to see Ode to the Mets because of all the stupid small talk.
  4. Cant tell people how to do festivals, but as a more casual 37y old music listener, my favorite thing about Primavera Sound over the years has been to discover all the great, unkown (for me at least) artists that the festival have booked over the years. Rigberta Bandini was maybe my favorite act last year. She is probably well known in Spain, but neither me or anyone I know had heard about her before someone in here mentioned her. And I have a ton of other that have made the Primavera experience great.
  5. I only attended week 2, but it didnt feel that bad at all. A bit too crowded at times, and the bars was a mess as always (and as always it also magically got better on Fri-Sat), but all in all I didnt have the bad experience that a lot of other people had at any of the areas on the festival site. I noticed that people complained a lot more during week 1, and from what I could see from videoes and messages it almost looked dangerous at times. Cant see it ever get that bad again though.
  6. Which acts will get the Ray-Ban 0300 slots Thurs-Sat? Saw someone mentioning Overmono earlier. Listening to them now, can see them playing there on Saturday. I see that Confidence Man played there in 2018, had forgot about that. Some of my best Primavera Sound experiences has been those 0300-0400 concerts at Rayban. Caribou, The Blaze, Four Tet, Ratatat, Jagwar Ma..
  7. Oh oh. Didnt this cause a ton of complaints this year? People kind of ignore the ''subject to capacity'' thing.
  8. Yeah, put in Bjørk on Thursday, The Walkmen/M83 on Friday and Pulp on Saturday and it would have been a pretty normal Primavera perhaps? Even though the undercard doesnt blow me away.
  9. Cant even search for it, cant find all the symbols on my keyboard.
  10. We talked about the 2011 lineup yesterday. Compared to that the 2023 lineup looks like a whole other festival.
  11. Shit, now I have to check out an Halsey album... Thanks man! Keen an open mind etc 🙂
  12. As of now the acts Im probably gonna plot into my timetable and try to find time to see, before really having full overview of all the acts, are: Thurs: Blur, Darkside, Le Tigre, NXWORRIES, Turnstile, Pusha T, Arthur Verocai Fri: Kendrick, Depeche Mode Four Tet, Fred Again, Moldy Peaches, Christine & the Queens, Channel Tres, Daphni, Julia Holter, John Talabot, Yves Tumor, Julia Jacklin Sat: Rosalia ( 😞 ), FKA Twigs, St. Vincent, War on Drugs, Caroline Polachek, My Morning Jacket, Death Grips, Ezra Furman, John Cale, Laurie Anderson, The Voidz But still a ton of acts I have to listen to the upcoming months.
  13. Yeah, need time to process. We survived Migos and Miley Curys, we will survive Halsey, Skrillex and Calvin Harris 🙂 Forget it, Migos ofc didnt show up.
  14. Haha. Diplo on Sunday? Saturday lineup has to be one of the worst for me in 10 editions.
  15. The most memorable editions are the ones where our group didnt hang out by the main stages. Now I just have to check out the 1 billion other bands and find alternatives at the smaller stages which I like. We know that there are a ton of gems there. Looking forward to June!
  16. From what I rebember of the bigger acts Im looking forward to is Blur, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Four Tet, Fred Again, Pusha T, Anderson Paak, War on Drugs, My girlfriend got extremely hyped for Kendrick, Christina and the Queens, Rosalia. Haha. Tokischa, Skrillex, Måneskin and Calvin Harris are no go. Dont remember most of the acts, need a poster.
  17. Some weird choices, but thats expected and the direction Primavera is going I guess. No problem, we are guarenteed to find some great alternatives during the Calvin Harris/Skrillex/Halsey slots. Not the best lineup from PS Barca but still a billion concerts Im looking forward to.
  18. The act I regret most not seeing in Barcelona last year, heard he was amazing. Instead I had to see Tame Impala for the 150th time because my partner hadnt seen them before.
  19. Agreed. Phoenix was a top 5 concert for me at last years edition. So much fun. But Fred Again is headlining festivals over Phoenix in 2022/2023.
  20. I notice M83 has a concert in Vilnius June 8th. Can we still hope for a Primavera booking? I guess most of the lineup plays both Barcelona and Madrid.
  21. Also remember Nick Cave take time to praise the festival and the incredible lineup, and asked everyone to go see Swans when they played.
  22. Still annoyed that I missed it 😔 But glad you enjoyed it, some of my friends was also there and said it was magical. 2011 will always be the best version for me because of how fantastic it was experiencing PS for the first time. A lot of great memories: One of James Blakes first big festival concerts, the enormous crowd at that concert and his genuine appreciation and nervousness was wholesome. Echo the Bunnymen and Caribou at Poble Espanyol, being suprised by Tuneyards, chilling with Tennis and Cults in the sunses with the ocean in the background. The insane energy from the small Ty Segall crowd, The Walkmen being fantastic, Baths at 0300, experiencing the intensity of Nick Cave for the first time, Jamie XX with a great 0300 set, Battles at Ray Ban, Odd Future w future PS legend Tyler being idiots, PJ Harvey and Pulp. Holy shit, the memories. When it was over I just knew I wanted to experience that again.
  23. I only went the second week, so count the 2022 edition as one. Only missed the Radiohead edition (2015? 2016?), other than that I have attended every edition since the Pulp reunion made me get tickets in 2011. You should make it an yearly tradition my friend 🙂 IMO the best festival in the world in a fantastic city. I still enjoy it, and dont feel too old (37y), but other obligations (family etc) has made me decide that this is my last edition. My partner joined me for the first time last year though, and she absolutely loved it. So who knows! Maybe Im attending my 20th edition as a 50y old.
  24. Barcelona by far. The festivals are very different though, with BA being a much smaller festival with mainly 3 large stages. Its something about the unique feeling at the Forum, feeling the sea breeze at 3:00 in the morning, finding the weird acts on the always quality undercard etc. Im also getting lazy and enjoys knowing all the tips and tricks at the Barca eedition. Trying to not freak out when the organizers dont communicate well or fuck something up for the 100th time each edition has almost become a fun tradition. Also, my Spanish is terrible and almost nobody in BA speaks English. Pro BA: The bars was more efficient (Its baffling to me that PS Barca hasnt fixed that since I went for the first time in 2011), the crowd was more into the concerts and it was obv easier for my tired old legs to get to the concerts. But Barca edition wins in all other categories. And it has that x factor that no other festival Ive ever been to can match. This ended up being a chaotic love letter to Primavera Sound Barcelona 😅
  25. Doing my 10th (and final) Primavera Sound Barcelona next summer and still looking forward to the lineup release like a kid on Christmas. I like that we dont have any leaks so far. Btw, Primavera Sound in Buenos Aires was concidentally the same week I went there for vacation a couple of weeks ago. Argentinians are so much fun at festivals, the vibe a bit different to the more chill Barca crowd (even with a 3(!!!)beer max limit at the festival site). First time seeing a mosh pit at an Interpol concert, and the crowd singalong at Mitski, Lorde and Arctic Monkeys was maybe the loudest Ive ever heard at a festival. Didnt bother seeing Travis Scott, and fingers crossed he doesnt play Barca edition in 2023. Mitski was the biggest positive surprise, hope I get to see her again in June.
