  1. I was hoping for a more guitar-y undercard - all the bands I'd like to have seen like Arab Strap, The Armed, Brutus, Deftones, Duster, Gel, Model/Actriz, Bikini Kill all missing
  2. Lana, SZA, PJ Harvey, Mitski, The National and Pulp all in for Porto
  3. Selling two tickets, will take £200 for the pair (Dice - can easily add friend and share). I've been trying to talk myself into it for months now but, as the line up just isn't for me, will give it a miss (for the first time in six editions!) That will teach me for buying the tickets Immedietly after last year on the back of the wonderful Pavement-Beck-Nick Cave-Kim Gordon-ness! Send me a message if interested.
  4. Whilst I get we're living in tough times, I don't really care how great value for money the line up is, I just want a great line up! It could have been worse, but it's still a far cry from what was the heart of the festival, which is a shame. For those asking about Porto - it's a magnificent city and easy to get around. I usually do 6/7 days and split it into two hotels/Air BnB's - 3 days in the city and 3 days in Matosinhos. That might be a faff for some so I'd say go with Matosinhos and travel into city on non-festival days (walking back to your hotel 10 minutes away is a godsend on day 3 of 3am exits)
  5. I was hoping, as Barcelona turns more and more into Coachella, that Porto would become its smaller more alternative line up festival. With that in mind, hoping for something like this to join from Barcelona – Arab Strap, Soul Glo, Just Mustard, Jockstrap, Shellac (obvs), Pet Shop Boys, Turnstile, Alex G, Black Country New Roads, Boris, Built to Spill, Blackhaine, Beak>, Japanese Breakfast, Swans, Yves Tumor, Delgados, My Morning Jacket, Death Grips, Ezra Furman, JPEGMafia, Pup, Cloud Nothings, Crack Cloud... For logistical reasons I’m not expecting many acts who are playing Madrid on the middle Friday to transfer to Porto. With Madrid happening that weekend, I’m hoping for some exclusive Porto surprises, especially in line with them pushing the 10th Anniversary. Bring on tomorrow!
  6. Last four editions – 2018 Porto had 6 out of 10 top line poster acts – plus the addition of Jamie XX (Nick Cave, War on Drugs, Vince Staples, Tyler, the Creator, Lorde, Asap Rocky – missing out on Bjork, The National, Migos, Arctic Monkeys) 2019 Porto had 6 out of 10 top line poster acts (Erykah Badu, Interpol, Solange, J Balvin, Rosalia, Stereolab missing out on Future, Tame Impala, Cardi B, Janelle Monae) 2020 (who was booked) Porto had 5 out of 9 top line poster acts (Pavement, Lana Del Ray, Beck, Tyler the Creator, Bad Bunny, missing out on Massive Attack, The National, The Strokes, Disclosure) 2022 Porto had 5 out of 9 top line poster acts (Tame Impala, Pavement, Beck, Gorillaz, Nick Cave and missing out on The National, The Strokes, Jorja Smith, Tyler the Creator)
  7. Whilst you can imagine the same fans liking a lot of those bands, its still a tiny pool considering the festival, up until 4 or 5 editions ago, would be made up of 70-80% guitar bands.
  8. I've been to the Porto edition the past 7 years but even if everyone I wanted to see transferred over from Barca (highly, highly unlikely) I still wouldn't be that excited - the undercard is very underwhelming from an alternative point of view. Here's hoping we get a few more acts than usual not playing the Barca edition
  9. If it makes anyone feel any better Porto edition last night was similar to barcelona, totally oversold. Couldn't get near the stages, even for relatively smaller acts like DIIV. Everyone doing their business in the bushes as queues were crazy, totally different to before
  10. Beck hasn't played a full show since October. Since then, it's a smattering of solo acoustic sets, mainly for charities and benefits. I wouldn't be too concerned!
