  1. If you fancy a treat and a little detour, the Salt and Malt at Chew Magna lake is seriously good. Gourmet fish and chips overlooking a beautiful lake. It's award winning, one of the best chippies in the UK, yada yada. https://saltandmalt.co.uk/chew-valley/
  2. You'd be lucky to get in by 5.30pm. You're likely to be parked in the furthest flung field and it can take 30mins+ just to get to the gate. You've then got to get from the gate to your tent and then back out there. Obviously it depends on where you camp (might be an incentive to go for Darble!) But if you're in the West camping fields, I wouldn't expect you to realistically be back enjoying the fest until 6.30-7pm, maybe much later depending where you head. It can take 45min-hr to walk across the site. Add on a couple of hours if muddy. Bristol traffic can be diabolical (so speaks a Bristolian). Given that you'd need to likely leave the festival at 1.30pmish to pick her up... It's a lot of time. Hence why everyone on hear is advising you to meet her at the gate. Perhaps discuss the logistics with your wife? I appreciate that this is me, but I would be horrified if my other half gave up all that time, especially when there are great bands to see. No judgement on you or your relationship whatever you decide, just wanted to urge you to discuss and carefully consider.
  3. Decided to show some trust and went to download the file, but it's showing as unavailable and I can't download it.
  4. I'm all one for trusting random strangers on the internet, but is there anyway to know if this file is legit before I download it? Sorry to be suspicious, but u know...
  5. I've got the same problem and I am hopping mad about it! I refuse to buy a new phone as the S7 is still working absolutely fine for my needs. I'm planning to use clashfinder and download it into my calendar.
  6. My advice would be to have a good chat with the parents over tthe logistics of them bringing him to the festival drop off point. You can shuttle out to the drop off to meet them. This is likely to be the simplest plan and least likely to backfire.

    Car Park

Obviously you can do whatever you fancy. My advice would be to pack for the whole weekend though. Glasto is huge and there is so much to do. You may change your mind about spending your days going to and from the site. If you have everything with you on the Weds, no harm done if you decide not to go home or do so less frequently than you thought. Just a bit of food for thought.
  8. Just your friendly reminder that there is already a pretty thorough thread on all issues with See tickets coach tickets and picking up tickets...
  9. Just a reminder that when you paid the balance there was a choice whether or not you want the lead booked to receive the tickets or the ticket holder. If you chose ticket holder then I wouldn't be worried about different dates of dispatch as you essentially severed your booking from your friends.
  10. This thread is enormous! Could I get a recap of any serious rumour slots, or is it still wild speculation at this point? Also, is there a good source for keeping track of the rumours when at the festival?
  11. Just to note that these ways are closed during the festival (except to residents and they have special passes) to stop people doing this or because it is being used as a car free route for other festival vehicles. Don't want you to get caught out!
  12. Worth noting you may not be allowed entry to kids field if you don't have a sprog with you.
  13. Can I asked whether it has side poppers? Every time I've tried to invest in a reusable poncho, it always has side poppers that come off on the first or second use. So I now avoid them like the plague. How does this one secure?
  14. Planning to use it to meet up with friends at different stage or find their tents(we are camping seperately). Although takes a bit of the fun out of using the flags, especially when a flag moves! I won't however be using it as a map to get around the site with the arbitrary three words set out above. Waste of battery when you can use your handy lanyard map. I do hope they are still doing the lanyards... so handy!
  15. Totally normal tohave gaps between sets at festival to allow them to set up and sound test. Obviously gaps tend to be less with DJs, but if there is some live element or new equipment needed, they'll need some time to swap over. Good time for the loo, or to get a drink! Or... a lovely nap!
  16. With massages, just be aware that they often book up (not sure if all do booking, but a lot dertainly do). If you fancy a massage, be sure to get to the healing fields asap on Weds/Thurs to book a slot for later in the fest.

    Glastomilk

No Milky Milky?!? Oh the trauma!
  18. Seen plenty of people at Glasto on crutches. Take a chair and take it easy. Ultimately depends if your mate is up for the additional struggle (will she be able to have positive mindset)? Also, her friends will have to be prepare to lug all her stuff and carry drinks, etc, for her. Are you that good a friend? 🤔 If it's due to be a muddy one though it'll be very very hard. Not sure if i personally would do a muddy year on crutches, might be a limp too far.
  19. You can get a seat reservation without it being an advanced fare.
  20. When I was last there in 2017 there was a tent based silent disco in the Park and an open space one (in a stonehengy light installation thing) in Silver Haze. However, from what I can see of the map, both areas have had a regig since then so don't know if they'll still be there. Assume there'll be somewhere! Very popular on Thurs evening.
  21. Lots of similar questions being submitted in the Question Forum. Please see this thread discussing the various issues. Nb. Pre-booked annual leave should trump a request to attend a training course.
  22. Your choices are (1) taxi, or (2) Bristol Flyer (bus) into Bristol and then the normal connections from there - shuttle, coach or train. See travel info on Glasto website for travel from Bristol.
  23. Queuing at Glasto is relative and very weather dependent. There will be queues at that time, they are unavoidable likely at any time. Queues on the road of 1-2hrs are normal and nothing to panic about. The nightmarish and legendary 4-6 hour queues you are likely scared about were the result of mud, cars getting stuck and mostly by all CV all needing individual tows into the CV field. So, no mud, likely smaller risk of this happening and you'd likely have avoided the worst of these queues by 6am if it did. Those huge queues built up over the morning on that dreaded Wednesday. The one thing I would say is that Glasto is good at learning from past issues. It wouldn't surprise me if there is now a plan to deal with the mud situation or strategic cement was laid after that festival, etc. In particular, it could be part of the reason why Sticklinch has now replaced CV West... So if there are issues with CV, it does not block cars coming in from both sides of fest. In conclusion, don't over think it. What will happen, will happen. Just ensure you have water, food and TP in the car in case of long queues. Oh, and tune into Worthy FM when you get close to the fest!
  24. I completely agree. I can't see Seetickets hiring an additional team of people or commissioning the writing of a new computer program just to allow coach ticket destinations to be swapped. Why spend money they don't have to - it's a corporate not a charity unfortunately. Not saying this is morally right, just being realistic. Equally, I also completely understand the salty response to See tickets 'computer says no' attitude. So many are in radically different circumstances 2 years later that it is very unfair. My main concern is the amount of well-meaning advice being given on this forum saying to just pick the ticket up at the box office. What if they actually enforce the T&C this year for fear of setting a future precedent and having people ignore the coach element of their ticket? I personally think it is a huge risk not to get your coach. I hope for the best for the people who plan not to, but they have to understand the extent of the risk they are taking. What's worse, travel inconvenience or no Glasto? NB. I'm not commenting on access needs as there is a good service for this at Glasto and has been addressed on a separate thread.
  25. I don't have experience one way or the other. If this became too much of "a thing" however, people using coach tickets as 'pick up from the box office when you fancy', I would be worried that organisers would stamp down on it. I'd think this would become more likely as more tickets are becoming combined coach tickets. Could leave a lot of people in the lurch if tickets weren't waiting for them.
