  1. Good call πŸ‘ I'm currently working at a large university that are hosting the Commonwealth Games & have huge conference centre's - I fear there will be no option of closing, I'll find out at 6.30am if I can rewrite the menu to cold options 🀞
  2. Spare a thought for us chefs in the coming days πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅
  3. Re-read my narky post, i seem to have taken my bad mood out on the app πŸ˜• Very much looking forward to the festival, it'll be brilliant πŸ˜πŸ˜‰
  4. Wow app is even worse than usual! On tablet, still can't get it on my phone. Spend a lot of time at Comedy which seems to have 3 acts on at the same time. Also 3D seem to be missing from schedule, hoping that's an oversight and not a cancellation. The "map" is laughable, if they were going to just have simple map why even bother overlaying on top if Google Maps? You'd think Festival Republic could afford a decent app developer.
  5. HeyπŸ‘‹ General campervan pass is all good, the family campervan area is closer to the arena & limited to people with kids etc. and they sell out fastest I think. I don't have kids so have never used that area, think there may also be showers? If family has sold out then general is your only option if you wanted to bring your van. It's all friendly, no real noise late at night, in fact in 2016 we were asked to keep the noise down because we were quietly chatting to some new friends at 5am πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
  6. No plan B.... plan A must be a success πŸ˜† I literally don't have any camping equipment, nothing... our garage are really good though, we've 3 different VWs that all go there for work and they are aware that we're going to a festival next week. I start panicking if on Monday night there's still no van on my drive πŸ˜‰
  7. Brilliant! You'll love festivalling in a van, it's the best. Saying that my driveway is still empty, my campervan went in for a gearbox rebuild last week and it's not back yet😬 Getting a touch twitchy, tomorrow I start nagging them.
  8. Just to update: campervan hanging pass arrived in the post today.
  9. I got a mini spirit level to level van on chocks because someone kept parking up not fully level, insisting we were level then rolling with gravity in the night & squashing me against the wallπŸ˜… Can I have a bit of van crew sympathy please, my van is at the Drs (very good garage tbf) we lost 5th gear as soon as we got on the M5 coming back from Glasto so van currently having a gearbox rebuild. Had to drive home at 50/60mph in 4th, not the best way to end the festival, so much ££££. And I need it back for Latitude next week!
  10. Updated my app - wouldn't open. Uninstalled & reinstalled - still won't open. Samsung S8, any ideas what I can do, can't carry my tablet around all festival! Because of course it updated fine on that, an older piece of equipment πŸ˜•
  11. This Glasto I managed 15/20k a day whilst recovering from a fractured patella (knee) thanks to the last couple of years lifestyle changes and heavy strapping on leg! Over the years had an on/off gym membership, never really enjoyed it much. During spring 2020 cancelled gym & did couch to 5k and fell in love with running (well I love it when I've finished the run!) I'm not fast and I don't go far, 10k is my furthest but I do it consistently. I even got a 5k PB 4days after Glasto 😁 the stats are not reason I continue, it's the mental health benefits I gain from it, being outside with my tunes blasting. I'm not a natural runner, I'm not built to run, but I do it anyway! Yoga; my advice to anyone, give it a try, I always thought nah, it's not for me but I'm converted and I bang on about it to anyone that will listen. I do 10/15mins every morning before work, so I have to get up at 4.30am to fit it in! And a longer 45min session once a week. Literally in my lounge, on the floor with a YouTube video, Yoga With Adriene has hundreds of vids for all levels, and I'm a little bit in love with her. My core strength has never been so good, years of gym workouts that always felt a chore didn't gain the results I'm seeing from Yoga. And my mental wellbeing is improving. I did some outside my campervan yoga 3 mornings at Glasto, one of them in drizzling rain and man it set me up beautifully for the day. The breathing aspect is so calming, it really helps quell the inner rage. I don't care how much I weigh, don't own scales, think that might come with age though like you reach mid 40s and you're like fuck this shit. Anyway bit of a ramble, sorry.
  12. Lurking here, lurking there, lurking everywhere πŸ˜† Tbf I usually only move sideways or backwards, usually for more space to lurker dance 😁 occasionally to get away from assholes
  13. Hiya, think this is the 1st year of downloadable tickets, previously we've received all via post. The campervan pass was always a hanging pass that you hang from your mirror rather than a sticker so presume this year it will be a download & print type of pass. Just checked and ours aren't ready to download yet so can't advise further at the moment.
  14. Yes, It is absolutely fine to move position, get a better view, away from people that are making your experience not as great as it could be - walk, snake, dance away to wherever you please as long as you're considerate to your fellow festival goers. And whilst we're at it, yes it is absolutely fine to leave a set after a couple of tracks, only stay for your favourite track or just show up for the finale - this year I only saw 2 full sets & 1 of them was in the Cabaret tent.
  15. You always previously been allowed your own booze etc at stages, pretty sure they won't change it this year, there's not really an arena, they had a bit of an entry bit from camping fields last year but nothing to stop you carrying cans/food etc in.
  16. DDC do loads of open air stuff around the Midlands, this weekend is Coventry Dining Club in the grounds of the cathedral, and if you can get in Open Arms at Warwick Castle is amazing but it sells out really quick. And they arrange all the food traders at Camper Calling, a brilliant little festival at Ragley Hall, think that's sold out too now. English Indian, Keebab Cartel, Flying Cows & a few others mentioned in this thread are quite often on rotation at different DDC events - I'm a chef who bloody loves food, this thread gives me life 😁
  17. You need to try Pietanic, peak pies with real mash That'd be Pietanic! A staple of Digbeth Dining Club
  18. Chems followed by 3D last year, absolute peak Sat night dance fodder πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί Looking forward to 3D being back in The Woods this year, Outpost in Forbidden Forest was genuinely a great little addition but that tent was no way big enough for how rammed their set started out. Sunrise tent is bigger I think, plus you've the additional areas around the tent where sound is still good, Outpost had sound bleed from Shack so unless you were inside the sound wasn't great.

    Crazyfool

Awe sorry dude, I have to keep the mystery alive & my Lurker status intactπŸ˜‰
  20. For sure! Imagine the carnage if they'd been up this year, dead wooden flowers everywhere!

    Crazyfool

Spotted a CF @crazyfool1 in the wild at Fatboy Sonic - contemplated giving him a poke but decided I wouldn't be much of a Lurker if people saw my face πŸ˜‰
  22. The dragons on the bottom entrance had gone (I didn't go in 19 so might have changed then?) The wooden flowers at the same entrance also gone but tbf prob for the best as it bloody hurt if you walked into one by accident! Side entrance by G On Sea seemed to be the most welcoming entrance - Park signage etc where as I didn't even see a sign at bottom entrance?
  23. I'll try answer some of your questions, I've been to the past 6 Latitudes. I stay in campervan field so not sure on distance from car parks but compared to Glasto, def shorter walk plus they have a charity concierge, payable but they will sherpa your kit about. There are stalls/traders/food/bar before the arena entrance plus the Co-op all open as gates open plus a few food traders dotted around in the camp areas Late night areas: Shack are always there, a self built DJ collective who bash out amazing tunes all on vinyl. Lots of the areas have late night stuff, I'd recommend Charlotte Church Late Night Pop Dungeon, she's bloody awesome. Last year there was an ambulance pumping out some old club classics outside the kids field late at night plus the Trailer Park has random stuff on. The Woods is full of teeny boppers on the Thurs eve/night all running about smashed, let loose after exams & parental supervision, they calm down a bit as the festival goes on! 3D were brilliant last year and 2019! If in doubt head for Shack or have a late night wander, you can't get lost it's small but there's often something unexpectedly round the corner. Larger, can't help you with, I'm a gin drinker and there's always plenty of that! Latitude was originally our Glasto comedown festival but it's now my partners favourite festival. The comedy is 2nd to none. Food is always really good. Friendly atmosphere & chilled vibes. It is expensive both tickets & drinks/food but I think it's worth it. I always come home feeling refreshed & that I've been to a festival, where as I come back from Glasto broken! Enjoy!
  24. Did the same for Diana Ross & Haim, went via Kidz & up through Big Ground, also whenever we went to an expected busy Avalon went via the Block 9 gates, got in for McFly 5mins before they shut the gates. Same as you, not saying what we did was better or being smug but I don't like being in a throng/melee of people & I need an escape route. Any time I wanted to be somewhere I would always take the long way round. Only time I was uncomfortable was Sat aft when something had finished on Other & I stupidly went through that way to get to William's Green, via BBC introducing - I'd basically got lost, how I got lost I've no idea!
  25. The cakes from here 😍 Bad Boy Battenburg, delicious!
