  1. The events this evening in Plymouth are awful:
  2. Just binged the first season. I’m pretty sure the general consensus is it stays up to that level and finishes perfectly (no spoilers, please!). Excited to watch the other two. Ghosts was great the other night. Think the whole third series is up on iPlayer but tempted to keep it as a Monday evening treat for the next five weeks.

    First Gig Back

Looks like my first one back is The Cribs in Kingston next week.
  4. They’ve got the Loose Women on their ‘get back in the office, you lazy pricks’ campaign: https://metro.co.uk/2021/08/09/loose-women-anger-viewers-with-divisive-opinions-on-working-from-home-15061963/?ito=facebook|social|metroukfacebook&fbclid=IwAR2XzHA86uLdNNd55q7HhiVsRTxobalbTHvtBfguHXR3EgT8nSS9I0NHwms
  5. I think a heavier band called Antlered Man may have played Williams Green one year?

    How do you feel?

Try reading a physical book or put headphones in and listen to an old favourite album/something completely brand new? I’m sure we can all offer recommendations if you say what kind of music you are into?
  7. Paralympics starts in a few weeks.
  8. Did you not see the British guy who thought he’d lost an eye?
  9. New Foxing will be first on my list today.
  10. Interview with Charlotte here: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2021/aug/04/charlotte-ritchie-ghosts-fresh-meat-call-midwife
  11. They can get away with anything. Really thought Tyrone Mings calling out Priti Patel at the height of the England team’s popularity would have led to *something but the way she refused to comment has worked out perfectly.
  12. Pep has now spent £918 million in his time at Man City.
  13. Haaland must have grown up a little bit in England so might fancy some familiar surroundings?
  14. That Dave album then… Three Rivers is extraordinary.
  15. Had some time off last week so made use of my Cineworld Unlimited card (seeing Stillwater tonight, although Amanda Knox’s angry tweet about it has left me wondering about whether it should have been made…) Old - interesting premise but the execution, script and acting (from a talented cast) left a lot to be desired. The Suicide Squad - fun, brainless nonsense. Reminded me of James Gunn’s earlier work, Slither. Jungle Cruise - a throwback to Indiana Jones/Romancing the Stone. Felt it lost its way a bit towards the end. Would have preferred Giamatti and Plemons as the sole antagonists. They were having a great time!
  16. Anyone else think it feels far too soon for the season to be back this/next weekend?
  17. We’ve been here before (and Sunak has re-emerged over the past few days):
  18. But then Starmer gets criticised for not shying away from his wealth? Labour are just a mess really. Everyone should want the Tories out and to achieve that, they need to work together - not constantly in-fight.
  19. What was the beef with the Jamaican sprinters? Seemed very odd after they finished.
  20. Bleachers, Lump, Lakes, Slash Fiction and Tom Williams will be on my list today.
  21. Enjoyed the Forever Purge this evening.
