  1. Ffs, it's just one act out of over 100 acts announced! There's a few acts announced that I have zero interest in seeing - same as every single year. I don't come on here to "express disappointment " just 'cos I don't like them! It's pathetic. Curate your own festival if you want to love every single act on the bill.
  2. I agree. It does seem like music snobbery. Comments like "great lineup, except for Idles ", makes people sound like spoilt brats - "how dare they sign up a band I don't like!" If you don't like them, go do something else instead. No-one's forcing you to watch them. You can't possibly love every single act on the lineup!
  3. More than happy with that! Headline clashes galore - I want to see all of them! Can I divide my body in 2 so I can be at Woods & Garden at the same time? 😃
  4. Haven't got a machine gun handy so decided to give it a miss 😀
  5. I've been on a 4 day week since my heart attack 3 years ago. I'm poorer but much happier. Hoping to drop to a 3 day week after my 60th at the end of this year.
  6. He'd be General Melchett - miles from the action & ordering millions to certain death! The fat useless public school c**t!!!
  7. First announcement next week then?

    2024 New Music

    Aye - it's a belter!
  9. Actions speak louder, etc - I've been in a union all my adult life. I've marched with and collected for the miners. Same with the sacked GCHQ workers. I've been on strike 4 times & always been on the picket line. As far as I'm concerned, I'm very left wing. Having said that, I'm backing Starmer, 'cos he's just got to be miles better than the shower of c**ts we've had to suffer for the last 13 years, right?
  10. Was that actually him? I thought it looked incredibly like him! 😀
  11. I've been listening to the Lisa O'Neill album almost constantly since Boxing Day and have come to the conclusion that I should have placed it much higher in my top ten - I'm sticking it at number 3 in my list now.
  12. There doesn't seem to be a thread on this, so I thought I'd start one. I can't be arsed doing a spreadsheet to decide a total list, as that's a bit too much like my day job (if anyone else wants to, be my guest). But I'm always interested in other people's lists in case I've missed a few gems. Anyway, here's my top ten: 10 - Lisa O'Neil - All of this is chance 9 - The Lottery Winners - A.R.T 8 - Sufjan Stevens - Javelin 7 - Beirut - Hadsel 6 - The Mary Wallopers - Irish rock'n'roll 5 - Boygenius - The record 4 - Jason Isbell - Weathervanes 3 - The Rural Alberta Advantage - The rise and the fall 2 - The Hold Steady - The Price of progress 1 - Laura Cantrell - Just like a rose
  13. So, Wham is the Xmas number 1 - maybe we deserve World War 3 after all! 😠
  14. Merry Christmas everyone. Here's hoping for a great 2024 (and an end to 13 years of the Tory shitshow).
  15. Braverman getting the 'Dick of the year ' award on The Last Leg was genuinely one of the funniest moments of the year! Would recommend anyone catching up on channel 4.
  16. This not-so-Cleverly bloke really is an appalling speaker - "Er, um, I will make progress, er, um, um". Mind you, it must be difficult to speak clearly when you think the bill is "batshit crazy"!
  17. Ffs not again! That set gets shown more often than Only fools & horses on Gold!
  18. My first festival - Reading '89 - The Pogues headlined the Saturday. I was down the front with my Celtic shirt on. At the end of the gig, Shane climbed down and handed me his half drunk bottle of whiskey. I was gonna take a sip and save the rest as a souvenir. I took a sip and some asshole snatched it from my hand! I'm off to see The Wedding Present tonight, but I'll raise a glass in his honour. FWIW I think Red Roses is a much better album than Rum sodomy & the lash. For my money it's the 2nd greatest punk album ever - after London Calling.
  19. I'm not arsed to be honest - I'm 59 and I've been lucky enough to witness, in the flesh, Camp Nou 1999, Rotterdam 1991, numerous league titles, loads of FA Cup finals and other trophies. If we never win anything again, I've still been so lucky to have been there for those magical years. If we're going to get knocked out in an average group, at least it was entertaining - 3-4, 2-3, 1-0, 3-4 & 3-3! - I'm predicting United 3, Bayern Munich 6! 😄
  20. Scored 3 in Munich, 3 in Copenhagen & 3 in Istanbul - only got one point! Might be a blessing in disguise - we had no chance of winning the cup, so might as well get knocked out early?
  21. That was one of the most incredible games I have ever seen! Bring back De Gea!
  22. And Villa & West Ham - can't see us getting many (if any) points from them 5 games!
  23. We've played almost all the teams in the bottom half (& beaten most of them) & only played 4 teams in the top half (& lost all of them!) We'll be 20 points off the top by Xmas!
  24. I work in benefits & WTC still exist.
  25. Potholes are kind of a big deal for Rishi - if he fell in one, he'd never be able to get out - the tiny little man!
