  1. I can’t give any macroeconomic reasons, but from a purely subjective level, (a younger, stupider) me and my mate plumped for V Festival over Glastonbury because they had The Verve and Kings of Leon (subbing!), Muse on the other day and wasn’t massively arsed about Jay Z. But it was purely the lineup for me, and only the headliners at that.
  2. Saw him 3 years ago and he played 3 hours straight without so much as stopping for a sip of water. I can’t see how he’d be unable to do 90 minutes.
  3. I think this is an overlooked Glastonbury tradition of booking people as headliners maybe before others think they’re ready (and before other major festivals do so). It’s not simply a case of getting the largest acts possible. Coldplay*, Muse*, KOL, Florence and Stormzy all had questions as to whether they were big enough or had enough songs to headline. On this years I’m in the weird spot of thinking it’s a high quality set, maybe the most balanced in the festivals history, and yet I’d say I’m more than likely not gonna see any of them (clashes permitting obviously) There’s something for everyone, just not for me! * the first time.
  4. Well that would be very nice Saturday night on the other. Would take that over Macca for sure.
  5. Thought that was KC and the Sunshine Band. Who would be a bold choice to headline.
  6. Triffic signings the pair of them.
  7. I don’t I’m afraid. Had one that turned to vinegar after 3 months but I think that was mostly heat based (was in the summer and wasn’t in that cool a place) rather than it going off. Soonish to be on the safe side though?
  8. Kanye wasn’t even the worst headliner in 2015. Love Wolf Alice to bits, but I can’t see it. “Main stage” is a really weird choice of wording too. More importantly, however, it’s reminded me I’ve got a 10L box of half and half that isn’t going to drink itself…
  9. How tall out of interest? I’m tempted by them but worried about ending up like an upside-down tortoise if I get stuck.
  10. It was a reunion tour after a 10 year hiatus. Borderline heritage if you ask me.
  11. We deserve How Much is the Fish on the Pyramid.
  12. Im not sure on the classifications but is this a SR?
  13. It’s still 100%. There may be some changes to the lineup, but it’s still 100%.
  14. Nothing to be gained from putting the poster out early. Just making a rod for your own back. People will want them regardless after 3 years. It’s never come out in February anyway. I can’t see that being accelerated with the uncertainty. And everyone who went to festivals last year will know- last minute cancellations will happen to. Suspect there’s gonna be plenty of acts kept in reserve to drop in if required though. A bit of perspective is required though. 2 geriatric American acts cancelling their tours is not a crisis.
  15. Just go with the 2019 set up. Masks, plastic screens. Covid Secure before it was cool.
  16. If you can persuade a guy headlining Wembley stadium twice or a guy genuinely topping R/L to sub then all power to you, but I’d think you’d sit on them till 23 when either/both could top El Pointo in their own right.
  17. Riding with you on the Kendrick speculation bus, but Ed Sheeran is playing Wembley that weekend.
  18. It’s Billie Macca Kenny until better evidence comes along. The lack of Kendrick evidence doesn’t mean the evidence is better for anyone else.
  19. Can’t see any Kendrick news until after the Superb Owl anyway. Would assume (if there’s anything) it’s all behind that.
  20. I reckon so. Would really like to see him have a go (4thish) on the pointy one.
  21. Fell for that one good and proper.
  22. Where would you put him? I haven’t got the foggiest.
