  1. Doja cat is massive imo (at least what I feel/have gathered being a 19 year old) shes 8th most listened to artist in the world on Spotify (73mil monthly listeners compared to Fred’s 14mil), she has a devoted fan base, and has at least 6 singles that the majority of people my age know (say so, boss bitch, kiss me more, woman, need to know, paint the town red… more than Fred, or blink for that matter) plus other successful songs. She’d thoroughly deserve a MSE slot imo
  2. Doja cat - boygenius - lil Yachty kasabian - bombay bicycle club - Raye Eminem - Aitch - ice spice royal blood - the wombats - the vaccines blink-182 - yungblud - Tom Grennan Fred again - little Simz - soft play
  3. Can u tell I’m having technology issues
  4. Other than paramore, what are some seriously possible female or female-including headliners?
  5. Hey guys turns out this is the truck forum not the reading and Leeds one oops

  8. 2 hours of tiktok remixes of break stuff
  9. With the limited number of big indie bands to headline / draw big ticket numbers, I can very much see them bumping up the undercard with the usuals tdcc, wombats, kooks, blossoms, vaccines etc haven’t seen Courteeners mentioned for a msw headline (as weak as it would be)
  10. on another note can we all agree that easyJet and “easygroup” should hang their heads in shame for evermore
  11. My bad dunno why I just got Giggs and Kano mixed up!
  12. Could see one of these acts with 2x others. Giggs played 2018 and 21 don’t think he’ll be back again so soon
  13. When I said edge I meant the angst side of things rather than just pure pop like Taylor Swift. Edge probably isn’t the right word though ur right
  14. Struggling to see how this is a problem when a large chunk of r&l attendees are gcse leavers age girls who would love to stand in a field and scream about their ex. Most of Taylor swifts songs are about her ex’s but shed be considered an incredible booking - same with Olivia but she also has the “edge” that makes her more “r&l worthy” to the older audience too
  15. Billie Eilish is bigger than roderigo but not massively - she’s insanely popular with the younger crowd especially the girls r&l targeting with bookings like that. I’d argue that billie was the one holding up last years lineup - definitly the biggest act booked on there To the younger crowd, most of the names I’ve highlited are basically irrelevant now, and most wouldn’t be considered “legendary” (Ariana grande js the only one I’On the contrary, I genuinly can see roderigo going massive in a Taylor swift kind of way if her next few albums are good and don’t all sound the same Her current tour is huge on album 2. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is just the start
  16. “The younger crowd” (this makes me feel so old I’m only 19 😭) know blur, but the hype is considerably less than it would be for a Gallagher. Most would only know parklife, song 2 and girls and boys now that I’m saying it out loud though it’s not too dissimilar to the killers… most only knew brightside, somebody told me and human difference is I think damon would be less keen to do r&l. Could see them more likely doing something like Isle of Wight
  17. If he’s there, Tyler would be MSE
  18. Liam Gallagher back is a good shout… BLINK-182 - Yungblud - Fontaines DC OLIVIA RODERIGO - Boygenius - Lil Yachty TRAVIS SCOTT - Aitch - Ice Spice FRED AGAIN - Little Simz - The Vaccines LIAM GALLAGHER - Jamie T - Headie One KASABIAN - The Wombats - Tom Grennan
  19. I can’t remember who or what they were but someone in the 2023 thread gave the stats of returning artists from 2022 and 2021 and it was near enough 40-50% if I remember correctly. Personally the major hurdle this year was that despite wanting to see a lot of the logo acts (killers, billie, nbt, bicep etc) having been the 2 previous years, I’d seen most of the small name acts anyway so what’s the point. Oh god
  20. I can picture the boyfriend - girlfriend arguments already
  21. Boardies has an eco bond for the rubbish tbag works quite well - the 2 tjmes I’ve been (2021+22) I saw a considerable amount of people returning their bin bags of rubbish. They also have a dedicated volunteer eco team who basically spend all Monday cleaning up, so that by Tuesday you can barely tell there were campsites there (shout out to the green team they’re awesome!) However the amount of tents left behind is probably similar / slightly less bad than r&l as you say. I actually came home from 2021 with an extra tent bcs I picked up a 2 man that had been disguarded in light of the fact that the tent i origionally bought had been labelled the piss tent and thus urinated on multiple times. The last 2 years have seen camp-war situations too ultimately it’s a reflection on the parents that raise children who think it’s ok to litter and ruin the earth like that. It shouldn’t be the festivals job to discourage such behaviour, but as it happens it is, and I agree that some sort of bond/deposit would be worth a try
  22. Is say she’d end up in a mimi Webb kinda spot: 4th down one of the main stages kinda spot. she’s excellent though: seen her twice this year, once at her own gig and once at a festival, and I loved both.
  23. Or Noel But then again I’d put him and his band as MSW size rather than MSE… at best
