Yes, Left Field was on the corner itself. But given that WG was only about 3 or 4 stalls down from the corner, for me that's not a distinction of any substance and it counts as essentially the same location.
Fair enough to me left field was on the corner and wg was the middle of that bit.wg was originally publicised as a food court rather than a music venue.

Wouldn't say Williams green was a replacement for queens head. But it duplicated what queens head did so they ended queen's head

Williams Green was a replacement for the Queens Head.
Which in turn was previously known as The Crown, when it was in the Other Stage field.
The spot across from the Meeting Point was previously occupied by the Left Field.
Left field was further up at the bottom of muddy lane. You're right about queen's head that used to have Thursday bands always too full to be enjoyable.

Everyone knows how much I adore the festival, but losing Williams Green still really hurts. There was and is no other venue that had/has that identity and curated line-up. It was like a small version of the 'New Bands Tent' that JPT was once and for many of us was a key part of our daily line-up schedule. Yes, the big bookings, especially on Thursday with so much less on around the site, became untenable. Fine. Stop booking those bands. But, that combination of upcoming bands and also daytime sets by more established artists who were playing elsewhere during the weekend (Everything Everything, Courtney Barnett etc) was unique to Glastonbury, and its passing is one small step towards the Farm feeling more like 'all the other festivals'. And that's a huge shame. With the loss of The Rabbit Hole, the only vaguely comparable daytime venue (though I do understand the reasons for its end), that type of experience at Glastonbury has taken another huge hit for those of us less interested in chart popular stuff and nostalgia acts. I truly hope they knock it out of The Park with a replacement for the ol' Hole.
Ben
williams green was always too pop for me, and never a part of my schedule. (think i only saw one act there), its not something i'll miss.

It was never a “New Bands” tent. It was a replacement for the “Bands Tent”.
Sorry to be pedantic but that’s me. The New Band tent is probably BBC Introducingwilliams green was a replacement for nothing.

That’s what’s been said on here before. I think by @Neil . Unless it was one of his monorails.
the news bands tent (a new tent for bands, not a tent for new bands) became the john peel tent, and now woodsies.

I potentially have a bit of intel that might be relevant with them boxes. Someone who works in the same yard as Joe Rush told me a good few months back that he had built/was building some sort of sky bar for a backstage area. Don't know anything more than that and certainly not saying confidently it's what them boxes are, but not out the question.
I hope not anyway, not interested in what they
have going on for people backstage personally 😆good attitude: - backstage is the most boring place on site the action is out front.

it was far enough away to flatten my mobility scooter battery last year, it meant i didn't have enough battery power to go out on Saturday night 😞

I also think the festival is crying out for a Maccie D’s, Burger King, Nando’s and Pizza Hut stand
Pizza express were doing festivals at one point don't think they did Glastonbury.

I think it would help if there was a Rightfield for an alternative point of view. Nigel Farage or Lee Anderson could be a great speaker for there.
the festival couls sell an egg and tomato concession for a high price. 😛

It's what the Tories are offering to oldies to keep the triple lock.

The SNP have given away how they intended to remain in power after the election. Theres been a survey on people's satisfaction with the NHS.the Scottish govt say that Scots are happier with the NHS than the survey says
( Scots are happier with their govt than the votes say). So the SNP can run the NHS to the same standard as the tories.
so much for doing better than the Tories.
