  1. So many acts with albums out and touring that are missing... Sprints, St. Vincent, Elbow, Vampire Weekend, Ibibio Sound Machine, Nadine Shah, Everything Everything, The Smile, Brittany Howard, Villagers... to name but a few, some of which always are a hit at Glastonbury (Elbow, Vampire). It's a bit odd.

6Music promote all these bands and alternative music and then they feel absent.

I'm so lucky to be going and still lots to see and the festival is so much more than the main stages, so it's all good. But weak headliners for me, Shania Twain is baffling to me... who next Michael Bolton? Curtis Stigers? Celine Dion? Coldplay feels very lazy.

Dua Lipa and SZA i guess i'm just too old for them to be on my radar, but it does feel very pop.

Anyhoo... i'll still be cracking open a beer on Wednesday 26th June full of excitement. Will just be exploring other places.

  2. I hope I’m allowed to do this, apologies if not.

I bought an additional parking ticket by mistake (I’m camping in LoveFields so it’s not needed).

it’s been delivered, along with my ticket (woop 🙌). Would anyone like it for a tenner off?

    DM me.

(Or delete me if this is not allowed.)

  3. Just now, The Nal said:

Were they ok with you strolling around?

Absolutely fine.  Even with the promise of rally cars bombing around.  I emailed the office out of courtesy a few days before, they state that as long as you realise it is at your own risk, you are very welcome.

  4. On the way back from a camping weekend in Dorset, myself and couple of mates paid little visit to the farm yesterday if anyone is interested to see.  Weirdly they had a car rally on, so walking down from Mary's Gate we saw stewards which was incredibly surreal. As that is what you normally see.  But the car rally hadn't started so the site was still very peaceful and a joy to walk around.

It was hot as balls... and we had no water, so only managed Pyramid stage and a walk around to West Holts. But was still an awesome experience to see the site completely empty and looking lush.  Been meaning to have a bimble around it for many years... will definitely go back in cooler weather.

  5. If this was due to Glasto trying for Prince and then him not committing or pulling out... just stop trying to book the little f*cker!

I love Prince. He is the consummate performer and really does rock! Live he is hard funk, rock, soul with pure musicianship. BUT!!! He can be such an arse!

If he doesn't wanna play then sod 'im.

Blimey it is like trying to keep that gorgeous girl who wants to tease and play around... just let her go!

Anyhoo... Prince may have nout to do with it. I'll be off in Shangri La before the crush starts anyway!

  6. I simply do not understand this decision. It screams of a last minute scramble after someone pulling out? (Could he be short and purple?)

As The Who did the headline legend slot in 2007 and surely it will just be a repeat but when they are nearly ten years older!?! Unlike Glasto to be so repetitive (kinda).

As for Weller... i also saw him in 2007 and he was a grumpy old c*nt who was visibly angry the crowd weren't into him playing new stuff. He was even goading them.

I think artists should be able to play some new stuff at a festival... it is what they are into at the time and the festival is about appreciating the artistry. However... Weller was being rather stubborn.

  7. Is it me or was there a massive influx of late teen 'only way is essex' types this year? also a ton of chav like arrogant teens who didn't give a shit about pissing anywhere. saw some guy try high five some as they walked passed and the group almost beat him up?

I'm no Glasto snob and I do realise that turning 40 recently means after 13 Glastonburys I'm gonna start to see a new generation and change of vibe. But... If this crowd grows the festival could have a problem again in the future.

    Just my opinion.

  8. Hi guys. I have never been to Latitude before. I am a dedicated Glastonbury goer. I am no snob to other festivals... i just usually spend all my cash at Glastonbury. However this year, for the first time in decades, i failed to get tickets.

So.... I want to try a decent creative, artistic festival and i've been told Latitude fits the bill.

Just one question... are there any late night or 24 hour stages/tents/bars etc?

  9. Can't see that this has been mentioned (cue me being directed to a massive topic). But anyone else notice a strange gap after Cat Power on the Park Stage Sunday evening? She finishes about 9.30 - 9.45pm from what i can see. I can't believe this is a curfew being in the 'late night' end of the site.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  10. can't see that this has been asked... but all this business about check in to worthy view being open till 10.30pm. what the hell happens if you get stuck in traffic queues and rock up after 10.30pm? they have no idea what traffic will be like. surely they can't make you sleep in the car?

  11. I know it's horses for courses and all that... and I know i'll have a great time at Glasto regardless of the line up. But to me that is uninspired. Having listened to 6music for the last two years and been turned on to tons of new great bands, I was hoping for a lot more. Just feels 'watered down'. I know others will disagree. It's just my personal opinion... but very bland.

  12. i am a little concerned too... i hate hate HATE this new tuesday car park opening system. i've all ways been disciplined enough to travel to the site early wednesday (from kent) leaving 5am to get there for gates opening. last year this simply wasn;t good enough and after getting there in good time hours of gate queuing only to find the site full by 10am was a nightmare. i simply do not want to sleep in my car.

this year i'm staying in a BnB this eve and gonna get on site early. but i bet that still won't be good enough.

  13. Arrived with campervan at 0800 this morning. Straight into the fields with great spot overlooking the site and Tor.

All set up now and off to bed after Stonehenge last night.

Site is a bit muddy but I've seen it much worse.
