I agree on that, she would cost so much.. I'd rather have a greaaaat undercard, and "normal" headliners ^^

(Pink in 2017 was a great catch, she only did 3 festivals at this time, and the 2 others were "1 day = 1 artist" festival stuff) And yeah, the undercard was amazing 🥰
+, Taylor Swift being free for 6 days during Sziget 2024 period ... no..? you don't think that's the kind of artist Sziget would target for a 30th anniversary ? I'm like 90% sure. And ready to apologize if I'm wrong lol 😅
But hey, I wish she's not here in 2024, I'm not a fan 😕

Ok Taylor Swift just announced her European show for 2024.. guess what, she has no dates in Hungary, AND she's available in August, like she has a show the 9 august in Vienna, and the 16 august in London... Considering Sziget will celebrate their 30th anniversary...

The schedule isn't right, many acts are, for now, planned at 20:10 (for exampe "call me karizma " and "stain the canvas", both the same day on te europe stage at 20:10...)
I guess we have to wait a bit more for the right running order !

'just got this email, basically saying that new names are coming next week , also with a lot of announcements . Also, the yellow sentence means " stages announcements starting 11th May "

I just notice something that will allow us in the future to "hope" a bit more : Adam Beyer will be at Sziget...but also at Balaton.
So an artist can do both festivals...

You're right, BUT ! many people don't go to those fests' for the headliners (Iron maiden, KISS, Metallica, Scorptions etc...), and I'm one of them ^^ And when I see Emo making a come back , I'm sure rock still have plenty of years ahead 🙂

That's interesting, and kinda true. Even if I think that the fact Download UK is celebrating an anniversary might be a reason for those great sales ^^ Anyway, it's a good news.
In France, the only festival that sell out before any name come out is HellFest (rock-metal festival). So I'm glad that an English rock fest' might do the same in the next years, 'cause it would give some ideas to other fests' bookers

As I said, I took some time to listen to the unknown names of the line up.
call me karizma, m.byrd, stain the canvas, lass, the haunted youth,etc...... there's some pretty good stuff, I admit. ^^
Doesn't change the fact that I was expecting more "confirmed" acts, clearly... but at least they can find and book nice talents 🙂

Anyway, I had all day to think over this line up.. I've looked at every previous Sziget line up I've been to, and this is clearly THE WORST. (the best being 2014 and 2022, to me)
Even if I've never heard of maybe 20 names (I'll give it a try of course), to see the combination of weak headliners like Mumford, Florence, Macklemore and Lorde is a failure. If we only had ONE of them as headliners, okay... but 4 !? ..... (P.S : I like Lorde and Macklemore, 'will definitely attend lol, don't say " it's because you don't like them !", I do like them ^^ )
I'm now going to pay attention at the "unknown" artists lol, by listenning to them ^^ But I can already see, thanks to other fests', that many great and confirmed artists were available... Sziget just made the choice not to get them, for the benefit of perhaps cheaper artists... yeah, we know that's true.
You better redecorate that Bridge guys .... and put on a MASSIVE line up for 2024 and the 30th anniversary.

I was there in 2014 and the crowd was huge. it's not a question of "interesting enough for sziget audience" lol, if you've been to this fest', you would know that the people who come like a lot of genres. For example, I might be a metal-rock fan, I also love pop, rap and EDM, which is why Im coming almost every year ^^ and every year hoping for Marina to come back.... 🥰
And finally... Dropkick Murphys will save the day ! 😄

I think the another problem is some of you think Sziget is something special. It's not... it's just another festival. It's not on the same level as Glasto or Coachella so you shouldn't really expect miracles or exclusive deals. Plus they clearly chose their new direction which is more pop and EDM oriented. With the correct marketing showing all the amazing decorations, activities and atmosphere (with max effort to hide all the dust, overcrowding and other problems) they don't seem to have a problem to get people on the island. Maybe it's time to start looking for different festival...
Arctic Monkeys / Kings Of leon / Tame Impala as headliners last year, plus Clutch, Inhaler, Fontaines DC, Palaye Royale, cleopatrick , Kensington, Nova Twins... hum hum , it seems to me there was a decent number of rock acts 😉
And when you say "these bands are not touring in August" : Placebo are, The Strokes are, The Killers are ,...
And finally, I strongly disagree : Sziget isn't "just another festival", you should know if you've tried other fests' 😉
