    F*ckin hell. I've never said they are impossible for Glastonbury. I've mentioned several times Glastonbury and Coachella are different level and we should not compare them to other festivals. Coldplay love Glasto and wouldn't be surprised if Chris Martin was already pitching a tent there and did the show for free (just a joke of course). I swear he's showing up there as a special guest every year. So no, it's not just a matter of money and Coldplay ARE impossible for Sziget. More "gnagnagna blabla" incoming 😉

    I was actually thinking of someone else for this "no way they're doing festivals" lol 😉

    About Coldplay, their fee being over 3.5M also makes me think that there is no way Sziget will book them. I don't know how much Prince or David Bowie used to ask, but nowadays we all understand Sziget won't spend that much money anymore for a single act.

    But I still maintain : offer those 9 Millions Rihanna got for the indian wedding, and even Coldplay will come to Budapest lol.

  2. I remember when majority were like "blablabla Coldplay impossible for festivals"... . Thank you Glastonbury.

    I hope now everyone realise that it's only a matter of MONEY. Hey, Rihanna performed at a wedding for 9 millions, ok ..? So please no more " gnagnagna blabla he's/they/she not doing festivals etc...".

    But considering the obvious Sziget budget for music, indeed I don't believe 1 second that they could get Taylor Swift lol. Or AC/DC or The Weeknd.

    We should look at acts that use to be subhead or "normal" headliners.. James Blunt, Sia, Usher, etc.. and if we get lucky, someone who haven't performed for a while like Shakira or Ariana Grande, etc... (Katy Perry still seems to me too big for the "Nowadays Sziget" 😞 )

  3. I'm not unhappy with the 5 last names we got, because I have already accept the fact that Sziget made the choice to spend LESS on the line up budget. That's a FACT, we must deal with it.

    The last big shot was Foo Fighters in 2019 (trust me, they are expensive.. way more than Imagine Dragons or Billie).

    So considering that, we should now take a look at the undercard way more than we used to ; the first wave was very poor, everyone agree on that. I think even Sziget themselves, they're not stupid. Why do you think they don't communicate about this edition being the 30th... they're kind of ashamed..

    So the 6 first names we got from the second wave (Skrillex, L.Gallagher, Tom Odell, Raye, Editors and Mo) aren't that bad (except Liam as a headliner, this is too much). I'm just saying, let's be patient , maybe they'll be clever and get the best undercards names they can get.

    Ding ding ding

    Even i I hope for Biffy Clyro, Maneskin or Queens of the Stone Age for the rock headline show.. Liam can be quite good.

    MØ subhead on mainstage and Editors on A38 is also nice.

    I don't know for everyone here, but these 3 first names (even if I'm not a fan) are a better start for me than the first wave ^^ thanks for the clues @Sziget2024_Leaks 😉

  5. Placebo, Rise Against, Biffy Clyro, Motionless in White, Maneskin, The Offspring, Kasabian, Inhaler, The Kills, Queens of the Stone Age, Korn, Snow Patrol, Liam Gallagher, The Hives, Spiritbox, Neck Deep, The Amity Affliction, Viagra Boys, Scorpions (why not after all..), Flogging Molly, ...

    These are only a few examples of rock bands touring in Europe in August. So Sziget can't say afterwards " rock acts were missing in August".. clearly not.

    So I'm veeery curious about the second line up announcement. there is hope. But also fear lol...

    They've got one gig announced in England as far as I can see, I don't think that makes them available for a gig in Eastern-Europe 😞

    don't overthink : it's only a matter of money. If they're willing to pay, it's on.

    But I (sadly..) don't think Sziget is aiming this kind of artists nowadays 😕 . Younger rock bands maybe (because cheaper) , like The Reytons, Dead Poet Society, ...

    About Placebo, they've been to sziget many times, and it seems that it was a combination that works, so why not...

    Solomun, Folamour, Blondshell, Nation Of Language, Bad Nerves, Yin Yin, Barry Can't Swim, Sylvie Kreusch, Motionless In White, Fat Dog, Hudson Mohawke B2B Nikki Nair, Patrick Mason, Yussed Dayes announced for Pukkelpop

    Motionless in White is kind of "Palaye Royale" in Sziget 2022, that would be nice 🙂

    Excuse me for my pessimism btw. It’s just pretty sad to experience such an amazing festival getting f’d up by some new organisers.

    I sadly agree. I'm even angry at them, disrespecting us by putting so much electro-edm acts... like we dont know its cheaper than bands...

    if the hint is skrillex. which line up spot would he get?

    it IS Skrillex, no doubt about this. And I honestly don't care where they put him. Same as Alan Walker or Steve Aoki I guess, Party Arena..

    Reading and Leeds making 2nd announcement at 6pm (UK time) tomorrow (1 Feb). Could be a further indicator of who we might be seeing announced from Sziget 2.0

    same for Rock en Seine and Cabaret Vert, 2 french fests' happening in August

  11. cool, another edm-electro act. Threre wasn't enough, I feel better now.

    Given that Leaks had stated there will be more than 6 headliners - maybe Skrillex could co/sub-head with Fred? And a good sub-for Stormzy? If it is Skrillex after all, I think it would be a shame to have him, Four Tet and Fred and not have them drop a few tracks together.

    Also Pinkpop just announced some new names: KEANE – ANOUK – THE ANALOGUES - BABYMETAL – COREY TAYLOR - DE JEUGD VAN TEGENWOORDIG – DOUWE BOB – THE INTERRUPTERS - PALAYE ROYALE – S10 – SKINDRED - DAGNY – FLEDDY MELCULY – LOTTERY WINNERS – MELL VF – POMMELIEN THIJS – TALK – THE VICES – YĪN YĪN

    Keane and Babymetal have my votes ^^

    Also, "TALK" is the kind of act I would definitely see at Sziget : he's all about the acceptance of ourselves, no matter what we look like, no matter who we love, ... yep, that must be a choice Sziget made. I would say 80% chance.

    So bored of waiting for announcement number two. God, January is a drag.

    What's everyone's top 5 acts they'd like to see announced next? Got to be possible (so playing gigs in Europe in July/August - so no 'Led Zeppelin'!)

    I'd go with:

    - Raye

    - Wet Leg

    - Bicep

    - London Grammar

    - Future Islands

    Not sure how many extra tickets they'd all sell, and none of them are headliner-level but would be very happy if any were announced.

    * Robin Schulz

    * Biffy Clyro

    * Keane

    * Zaho de sagazan

    * (a festival EXCLUSIVITY. You know, because 30th anniversary. Because Sziget is a big name I think..)
