  1. Whoever decided to overlap Electric Callboy with Slipknot so heavily is a big old muppet
  2. Our group have been to 4 editions including yesterday and we all through this year felt far far busier than normal (expected with a sell out) but honestly it was a bit much. We were shocked at the queues for water/toilets at times, almost felt like they upped the capacity and reduced facilities/staff. The car park situation was actually a joke, shocking they can get away with it to be honest. I also thought the stage lay out was far better last year than this year, the Kerrang tent this year was carnage and surprised there wasn't a crush at times, was far better with the one stage that Neck Deep played being in the tent. There has to be some way of rearranging the arena to manage crowds better.
  3. I'm also torn on Shikari/The Offspring. Everyone in my group is going to the Offspring as none of us have caught them before and most of my mates prefer them to ES. Personally I prefer ES and know what a fantastic show they put on, however I am going to their tour next year alone already, whereas I can't see myself ever going to an Offspring gig. I was set on ES until the newest album released, don't hate it but not the hugest fan. Think I'll end up at Offspring but could really really do with DL announcing if either are replacing 5FDP before this weekend lol.
  4. Final Headliner is coming next week, UK exclusive. Any ideas?
  5. May be in the minority here but as much as BFMV is an unexpected booking, I am really happy with it! I think Broco will be announced as the last headliner at the end of the month. If not maybe Shikari after Slam Dunk? WOuld be funny if so they'd have the same three headliners as the DL Pilot.
  6. I'm also happy with the line up, there's certainly a dozen or more bands I want to see and plenty more I've heard good things about that I now have some incentive to explore more. I think for trees core audience its a good undercard, from a pure business stance however they need to sell tickets beyond those that return every year. I don't think this line up does that, I may be wrong. The other headliner announcements could be tied up by contracts etc but its odd they haven't touched on it at all.
  7. I'm very confused why we are still missing two headliners. This line up is good but it doesn't have many big ticket shifters. Trees has a solid base of regular attendees but can't see many people being pulled in by this line up, especially this latest announcement has nothing that going to pull in numbers. Are they struggling to book headliners?
  8. Nothing But Thieves have just been announced to headline the second stage at TRNSMT the Sunday of Trees weekend, they're clearly doing a European festival circuit playing RFP, RAR, Nova Rock etc. They're playing Reading and Leeds but not as headliners so could be a UK Headline Exclusive at Trees? They've done it before.
  9. What a weekend! Amazing from start to finish. Thank you RFP 22
  10. I looked at who was active in Europe and roughly the right stature of artist, Skindred were my first thought. I wondered about Frank Carter but playing 17th and 18th in France and Netherlands respectively so might be tricky. Yungblud would be cool I guess.
  11. Any guesses who the unannounced 'sub headliners' might be?
  12. Just have a gut feeling its going to be Metallica, MCR, Slipknot/SOAD. I think each of them would go down great. Slipknot/SOAD are bread and butter for DL, Metallica are as big as they come and MCR would be treated like kings whereas they'd flop at R&L.
  13. Funny you say that I have tickets for Rock For People in (near) Prague next year in what is one of the best line ups I've ever seen for my personal taste :). I also tried for Hellfest but when there were 70,000 in the queue ahead of me I knew I was in trouble. The issue we have getting to Euro fests is the additional day needed to travel there and then by the time you either transport camping gear by plane or pay to stay in a hotel etc rather than camp it's not much cheaper than a UK fest ticket...
  14. This whole topic is something I've been kind of waiting for. For both myself and many of my friends, our music preference sits almost exactly between RandL and Download. 2000 Trees don't quite have the pull of massive acts yet and Slam Dunk is a day event so the UK doesn't have a major festival that really suites me. I know thats because my taste is not as popular as pure metal or shit pop and rap but still I just see American and EU fests that are SOOOOOOO good and it makes me really disapointed 😞
  15. My girlfriend was volunteering and managed to get into the production area showers. Said she was confused as loads of people around were whispering/giggling/taking photos whilst she was waiting in the queue. Once the woman before told her stepped in to showers the person behind her tapped on her shoulder and said 'you know that was Dua Lipa in front of you'. Now my gf has no idea what Dua looks like so couldn't confirm it was true. Either way that is now her famous person story.
  16. Secret set before Nova Twins??
  17. Still no line up or times on my app?!!!
  18. I had no doubt it would be better! I'll be flying over from the UK so not able to bring much of anything with me just wanted a sense of how much to budget for the bars!
  19. Volunteering so on site from Tuesday! Can't wait!!!
  20. Do people have a rough estimate of what a typical bar price would be at RFP? Used to English festivals with their £6-7 pints
  21. AM are possibly the single most in demand band for R and L every year. In the context of Reading in the 2020s I'm not sure there's a bigger booking they could make? Drake maybe. They won't play a secret set this year but if they did it would be one of the largest crowds all weekend.
  22. This isn't official is it? just predictions based on the original? I'd be very surprised if Catfish are back, I feel they wouldn't accept anything but headline now they're doing Reading/Leeds.
  23. Had 2020 tickets, rolled over to 21, now rolled over to this. Super excited! Cheap by festival standards too!
  24. DPU great addition! Holding Absence good as well. I am honestly gutted about no Cleopatrick, I know this will happen with a fest this year but they were someone I was super excited for!
