Reminds me of the last T in the Park. It sold poorly so on the last night people were at RHCP leaving about 20 people to go attend LCD Soundystem on the Radio 1 stage. There was a picture of it at the time and it was painful.

I guess that even if 100k people go to see a headliner (for arguments sake) that still leaves several arenas-worth of people not there and seeing other stuff. Not sure how many people would need to be at the other stage to make it look busy. 50k?

Location is part of it I think. Coming from Glasgow is isn’t the best. It’s becoming clear that only one bit mainstream fest can thrive up here I think (trnsmt). The late august makes sense to be in line with all points east but the dates you mentioned fits in with primavera who book similarish acts I guess. Can’t quite put my finger on it but late May sounds way better to me than late august. Probs cause August isn’t an actual Scottish bank holiday

It probably is but as mentioned most people don't go to all of them and it is still 8 years. They are also the exception. It just basically needs to be accepted that they're going to be there every few fests. They'd be daft to turn them down - they are the biggest band in the world.

No one has ever claimed SZA is a lock. The other 2 are though.

Not the SZA part. Brave Sir Robin used to post on here and always get BST right. He said the BST dates but it also has Stevie W in it. SZA isn't a definite and doesn't come from him. Coldplay and Dua are locks. Comes from multiple people including Roughbloke who also used to post here and got it spot on last year despite a former disgruntled site owner making up some lies about them.
