  1. £157 for 3 days + camping as well, not a bad proposition at all.
  2. Tool ain't playing Glasto. Be lucky to see them in the country again frankly although after the Fear Inoculum tour sales they'll maybe think twice about not playing England for another 13 years. The bassist is even English for fuck's sake, what did we do wrong Justin?!
  3. Jack and AJ aren't playing 4 arenas + Wembley. It's not that far off but MGK is bigger.
  4. Not so much "around" but means The Strokes and AF are active
  5. They were only ever stand-ins for U2 on the pyramid anyway. Should never have been there. Other is the ideal slot. Saw them at Primavera this year and they were excellent, tons of amazing guests.
  6. +1 for LCD Soundsystem, still never managed to catch them
  7. I haven't followed the conversation as I think MGK is a coffin nail but didn't he just say he WANTS to headline RnL?
  8. It's really not that odd no matter where he's from, I think people have read WAY too far into him saying that personally. Little Simz closed her Glastonbury set this year with a "see you next time on the Pyramid". That doesn't mean she's booked for a 2023 slot on main stage or that she's reached any real agreement to play there next time she shows up at the fest Could well have been a hint but people seem to have taken it as some kind of confirmation and it just ain't
  9. Imagine Dragons to headline? That made me feel a little bit sick just writing it
  10. Can't wait for the bickering between young couples when the lads want to watch his whole set, but their girlfriends want to get a good spot for Billie.
  11. I think calling Eminem a victim of cancel culture when he himself said he went too far by calling Tyler the creator a slur - and was commended by his friend Elton John for doing so - is a little more nonsensical. He didn't put out any artistic expression into that line, it was an insult and it's the same insult Eminem's been using for decades because that's how he grew up and it's taken him this long to shake it. May not fully shake it yet. It's not artistic expression when you apologise for it afterwards.
  12. Biggest rather than favourite? Arctic Monkeys and Eminem are a good start. Rihanna should be up there too if I'm thinking about artists I've heard the most* - intentionally or otherwise - in my 30 years here. *and Queen and Michael Jackson but that's unrelated to being under 40
  13. Remember that Eminem was and still is rap for people that don't like rap. That's not to say rap fans don't ALSO like him in droves, of course they do, but there's a lot of people who won't entertain the genre outside of a few exceptions and those are most notably Eminem, Drake and Kanye. I don't need to check any charts to tell you those are the biggest 3 rap artists ever. Bear in mind also that legendary does not have to mean good. Drake is beige wallpaper and always has been.
  14. ????????????? He's literally the most famous rapper in history. Sold more albums than The Rolling Stones in half the time.
  15. He's got the catalogue for it. Just depends how he approaches it. I think after Stormzy and Kendrick people are gonna be way less interested in the "play half of 32 songs with a constant hype man" style.
  16. Florence, Chemical Brothers and more added to Bilbao BBK a week after RW. AM already announced. https://www.bilbaobbklive.com/en/
  17. For one, a lot of U2 fans had been promised U2 and let down just before the festival. But they played almost their entire new album which had been out for literally 3 months at that point, at the time Plastic Beach didn't move mountains, it's one of those albums that's matured with time and is now often cited as their best, or one of. It was only their third album, too. They could have dug out a few more tracks from the self titled but it wouldn't have made much of a dent. Just absolutely not the band that should have played that slot, and I'm a fan.
  18. Not just stadiums, arenas too. £95 for blink-182 was just ridiculous, the last gig I'm spending that much money on is my final chance to see Roger Waters. I see a lot of people agreeing that they're priced out of festivals now but I'm the opposite, I'm priced out of gigs and would rather put 3 gigs worth of money into a pot and go to a festival and see 25x as many acts.
  19. The arena tour isn't doing that bad at all - but yeah, it's way too late for Download now, much like Paramore, they're pop bands.
  20. Ahh damn I missed the EU one on the 22nd... that might be the end of that then. Although he may make an exception for Glasto.
  21. Not a problem, Sting frequently plays 3 nights in a row, sometimes in 3 different countries! If anything I'd say this makes him very likely which is awesome
  22. Is that out? That looks like a perfect in to me
  23. Download is missing a few big slots. I think without Keith - and with already-booked Pendulum not being as hot as they were a decade ago - a 1-2 punch on 2nd stage is entirely possible.
  24. Ghost are doing it for their 2nd stage head slot, Sweden's only over the road. Ruling Pantera out because the ITK guy who dropped like a dozen bands says they've pulled out to do their own stuff here.
  25. Because I've never seen them and they're one of my favourite bands, nothing more complex than that. Won't happen this year anyway, two of them are busy with a side project
