Just looked at Feeders March dates and I'm impressed they are still playing decent size venues and a fair few of them too. Would be a perfect Avalanche headliner.
Still put on a good live show too, or did when I caught them a few years back.

At £80-£100 loads of tickets would have been hoovered up by tout looking to sell for £150. PJ are essentially selling at touts prices straight from the off.
They did a ballot though - touts can't hoover up in a ballot. Only problem was they massively overcharged even with a ballot.

Because they want to see mega-artists duh. Yes price wise smaller gigs are way better value in terms of the amount you can see but massive artists tend to play massive stadiums so you don't have a choice. Some people just really want to see Taylor Swift (myself included). Back standing was 110 quid, for a 3.5 hour set and paramore supporting. Really doesn't bother me at that price. It's possibly the only time I'll see her.
Sure, but something's gone horribly, horribly wrong when I saw Beyoncé at Spurs 8 months ago for £105 standing and now f**king Pearl Jam are trying to charge me nearly a third more for an arena show. They're not Beyoncé.

Looking at their official forums it seems like tickets aren't exactly flying. PJ doing a Manchester arena show should be an instant sellout but standing is still there after an hour, clearly lots of ballot winners put off at that price point. Barcelona hasn't moved at all.
Best case scenario they scrap the entire thing and try again at sane prices. They're never selling out shows where nosebleeds cost £150.

As someone vaguely out the loop, didn't Pearl Jam make a huge song and dance in the 90s about taking on Ticketmaster? Only to now charge the same prices and curtail to them in the same way as everyone else.
Or am I thinking of a different act?
That was them. As well as now banging on about "giving normal fans access to tickets" via the ballot they're also proponents of "all in pricing", where what you see is what you pay... except apparently that didn't translate here, because Jenko's screenshots don't seem to include the added fees that take the tickets to £170.
Arseholes.

Grumpy this morning realising that the Pearl Jam £170 standing price wasn't an elaborate prank. Manchester isn't even a stadium ffs.
Band's so incredibly out of touch if they think this is what "normal fans" (their words talking about a ballot system) can afford, they're on my shitlist.

There hasn’t been a band with a rise like theirs since MCR. It’s absolutely insane. I think they will headline Download next year.
Yeah, catch me having an argument with some absolute weapon about it on the official forums 🤣 stark reminder of why I got away from there and here

Insane that after subbing Yung Lean on the 4th stage at L&R less than 6 months ago, Sleep Token have just shifted about 70,000 UK arena tickets. Mental booking.

Blink Prodigy clash would be the funniest (saddest) thing ever.

Definitely will be eyeing up last minute resales for Blink / Prodigy day if I think we can afford it by the time it rolls around. Two still on the bucket list. Gerry who?

YO, they got Prodigy subbing? f**king hell, that Gerry Cinnamon free cash really making waves

Surely it’ll just be the same names in a different format?
10 artists is a super small first announcement. Even 2021 was double that and that felt small. Hardly any point even making a poster with 10 names on, wouldn't be surprised to see them add more first
-
Gotta be a poster today if tickets are tomorrow.

Becky Hill booked for Scarborough the week after R&L, could be booked?
Playing Cardiff on the 24th so possible she does that between R and L. She's doing 3 on the trot the week after so not ruled out

Ctrl+F "tool" no results
Tool ban phones at their shows and security are ruthless at chucking people out. It's amazing. Not a single stupid light through the whole thing, full engagement. They let you film the final song for your memento since they can't chuck a whole arena out at once but aside from that it's great.

I seem to recall seeing something by R&L referring to them as "6 headliners" but I cant seem to see it now, does anyone know if that even happened and if so where?
Every image on Twitter has "headliner" next to the name

Hi Ben 👋 remember when I said LDR was a MSW headliner
Hi Chad 👋 remember when you said Fred wasn't MSE headliner level but might be in a few years
At least know we know now Lana will take it, it's an insanely good MSW booking and that day will sell out on the back of the pair of them together. I still think she might have a paddy once she clocks on that she's not actually headlining anything, Glasto drama pt. 2

Are we all thinking this will sell out?
Yeah. It eventually sells out most years and this is a strong 5, as much as I don't understand the Catfish thing. We don't talk about Gerry.
Reckon the LG/Catfish and Fred/Lana days will sell out pretty quickly.

My mate was busy telling me Lana Del Rey being here was proof she should have topped Glastonbury outright.
But given I think MSW and Other Stage headliners tend to equate, she's exactly where she should be for me. (Albeit clearly the strongest of the trio there.)
Both are festival exclusives as well. That day's gonna sell out VERY quickly. Advise people buy ASAP if they're remotely interested.

Interesting year for headliners that. Everything from stinky to questionable to "good but uninteresting". Easy year to skip and save money. Curious whether I could make something out of it so...
Thur: Gaslight >Hives > Parkway > Slowdive > PH Harvey > eat during GVF > Jane's Addiction > The Streets
Fri: Visit Belgium all day > Bad Omens > Archive > Tom Morello > Snow Patrol maybe > early night
Sat: Noname > Jessie Ware > NBT / Janelle > Avril > The Blaze > Marc Rebillet > another early night
Sun: Brutus > Scowl > Idles > Loyle Carner > Michael Kiwanuka > Foos
Yeah, bit of a rough year for what RW usually has.
