  1. I recommend you don't buy a ticket. X
  2. Last year on the Sunday saw Anish Kumar, Kool and the gang and Four tet back to back. Best run of the weekend for me. Even managed to fit Ewan Mcvicar in there somewhere who was taking heads at zenith.
  3. Map is on the app. Orchid is here, the digital programme suggests it has 4 good vendors.
  4. Fair enough! I guess it gives enough time for some last minute ticket buying still that announcing 3 days before didn't. Hopefully over time as they set the ethos a bit more they'll be able to sell more tickets based on the "vibe" rather than the headliners (like Glastonbury do).
  5. Early lineup with a tickets still available announcement possibly an early sign that the new secret lineup format isn't working?
  6. The number 1 tip I would give is to start now. What you need to know is that most, if not all, Glastonbury volunteering spots are effectively taken by March so last minute finding of spots is incredibly hard. It is a lot easier to get a spot if you already have some sort of connection. A load of spaces aren't even available publicly and are through word of mouth by local groups for people who have done something with them before.
  7. They've already done the extra gigs back in Manchester a few years ago. It got glowing reviews but didn't spur any more dates then. I think Glastonbury might have been it.
  8. There's a bit of that but it's not really my experience, i've had more aggy people at Glastonbury than I have at wilderness.
  9. Possibly, D shift we had.im I'm doing it with Oxfam! It's lovely as a festival best described to me as "it's for people that want to say they've been to a festival without going to one" It's often described as posh but I don't really get that. The poshest thing is probably that the toilets on a Saturday night have loads of toilet roll in them. and in terms of "nothing too crazy" there are definitely parts where it can get a bit wild!
  10. I've suddenly had a great idea for a flag next year.
  11. The one they did at 9am in 2019 definitely. In my hungover state I thought I was about to have a 9/11 into my tent.
  12. On Thursday the signs were telling people to avoid Silver Hayes. I remember because we were considering it but then decided to just go straight to truth for skindred. "Silver Hayes very busy, seek alternatives"

    2024 Headliners

I'd forgotten she was booked originally. Yeah Cardi would be incredibly pricey. I'd just love to see them "take a shot" with these acts that could do an incredible set. E.g. I'm in the camp that thinks if Lana Delay had been pyramid she'd have knocked it over, and Lizzo would have shot it into space.

    2024 Headliners

What about one of Cardi B and Doja cat? Has that been discussed? I know for a load of people on here they'd go down like a wet long drop but they're undeniably big names to top el pointo.
  15. Yes! Ollie was his name! An absolute star. Not been put down as a supervisor yet but really should have been. Don't know how we'd have coped 4am Saturday morning without his speaker and loads of sweets.
  16. Tbf I think if I had an in I'd prefer doing some of the directions and traffic around SE corner and railway. Would make the shift go faster!
  17. You're not a fully fair sample though because you're able to sort all your shifts so you're finished by Thursday! I'd put it first if I could guarantee that, showers and save £350.
  18. Just reflecting on my week and it was really really fun. Monday and Tuesday were unexpectedly an absolute blast. I don't remember getting to my tent on Monday night. And Tuesday we actually had to queue to get into places in SE corner. Crew bars wise, what everyone has said is true. They're bouncing Mon, Tues but a lot quieter when the festival is on. Being in silver Hayes and having the ability to leave my group and go to the nice compost loos was a bonus. I enjoyed that it was the same people for all 3 shifts mostly, so you actually got to really know people over the week. Comparing who we saw and plans was great. Night shift went faster then I thought, someone brought a speaker and huge 3kg bag of sweets which was a life saver. I didn't particularly like the occasional kitchen caterer they had. By far the worst catering experience I've had with Oxfam. Small portions of relativity basic food. I know they have struggled with costs but a 500ish calorie chili with side salad after a night shift is not going to help you recover. I hope they can find someone else for next year if they can't improve the offering. Met four tet briefly which was interesting. Being a first time supervisor was actually fun and I'd recommend it at Glastonbury if you can as you get to move around a bit more and there's a team leader on the gate I worked, so anyone being a genuine arsehole just got sent to him. Sunday shift finished early so we got to see all of Elton. I didn't use my supervisor authority much but glad I was able to let the guy with the Elton John tattoo sneak off a little early as well. "Just go whilst no one's looking". I hope he made it to the front. Would recommend it as an option, certainly not the same as being at the festival as a punters but definitely a good 2nd!
  19. They were categorically in a minority.
  20. I was a first time supervisor this year on Gate C and made a point of working with the other supervisor to try to rotate people out of standing positions where possible when they were clearly flagging. We were fortunate because we had options for doing that over the gate. Some people just want to sit and hide for 8 hours, some want to get involved and be active. If you can work with that a bit it makes it easier for everyone.
  21. I see everyone here missed the secret venues that they brought back in Shangri-la this year.
  22. I'll give you the same response I give to others, you're 15 years older. Your tastes change and that's fine.
  23. He's been huge for a while now with basically back to back albums. Surely due a rest and reset and doing other projects
  24. I've just increased my monthly saving for it from £40 to £60. So as soon as that's not enough to cover a huge chunk of the ticket fee I'll probably have to hang up my hat, or get a promotion.
  25. If it is permanent they could do with opening up more camping on that North East Corner. If you land at Gate B or C there's really not anything that isn't a 40 minutes schlep away if you arrive after Wednesday morning.
