  1. I bit "worried" I might end up at the main stages too often as I'm eager to see Pulp, Justice, Mitski, FKA Twigs (still hope she'll be there), PJ and Lana. Of the smaller names I like Model/Actriz, Brutus and Voxtrot most and looking forward to seeing Arab Strap again if the timetable is not to cruel with me.

    New names.

Passenger and Intergalactic Lovers on Friday

Sheryl Crow and Lord Huron on Saturday (headliner still to come)

    Gossip and Zornik on Sunday

That Sunday looks great. Waiting for the Saturday headliner to decide if I take the train for one or more days. Sheryl Crow is not my cup of tea, so I might travel on Saturday, spend time in the city and do the festival only Sunday. Did the same last year and had a great time.

A lot of quality in today's announcement. After several years of doing Primavera Porto we decided to try something else this year and BKS looks very promising, especially being the same weekend (no need to change days off work plans etc.)

Should we hurry up with buying the tickets? Does it usually  sell out quickly?

Really like this year's line up, despite Disclosure being a mismatch with the festival. Don't think it will sell out, as it only did once as far as I know. There's still accomodations available (which I highly recommend), these would have sold out by now if tickets were selling fast. Now that both Lowlands and DTRH sold out fast, people might consider BKS though, same happened last year.

BKS is a great festival, if you decide to go I'm sure you'll have a good time.

  4. Anna von Hausswolf - 2018. Only knew one song at the time, but completely blown away.

Jenny Hval - Auditori, 2022. Just goosebumps. Another unexpected highlight.

Little Simz -2022. Great performer, really loved to see her for the first time, great vibes.

Slowdive - 2018. Whats not to like?

Beach House - 2018 & 2022. My favourite show in both years, bit of a fanboy, but seeing them play past midnight is a really great experience.

This line up looks like they’ve put all the names in a random generator thing.

First day is not bad though.

Motxila 21 that high on the poster is ridiculous.

Putting Motxila next to Pearl Jam on the poster seems like something the "Make a wish foundation" would arrange for them as a nice gesture.

Why is Thursday so damn good? I've counted the names I want to see and it's going to be horrific clash after horrific clash.
The only thing that could save the situation is if some of them double up with Ciutat!

Same here. Luckily I can see Justice and Amyl the week after at BKS and I just noticed I get to see Wiegedood in January as support act for Amenra, so that's three less worries. But agree that day is ridiculously stacked still.

This has some good acts like Pearl Jam, The Breeders, Janelle Monae, Alvvays and Genesis Owusu but all in all I think its their weakest start yet

    Mostly garbage...

Similar to me, I think it's the worst Friday that I can remember in years for my taste, but I understand that there are a lot of big artists there so that's ok

Yes, also agree. Friday has way less interesting acts than the other days, but Lana was on my to see list for ages so this 'll be my relaxing day after running around like crazy the day before to see all the cool stuff.

    What fresh hell is this?

Daytickets are € 145. I can imagine people who like Ed Sheeran will actually pay for that Sunday, with also Sam Smith and Hozier as some bigger radiopop names. The first two days, the field will be bloody empty. Worst poster of the year so far.

What headliner are you most excited to see?

Right after the line-up release I would have said Justice (they were my wet dream for PS 24). But after a week and seeing a lot of youtube videos, if there was only one headliner I could see, I would choose Vampire Weekend. Never seen them live and I actually forgot how many great songs they have.

FKA Twigs for me. Never seen her before and really curious what the show will be like.

Hopefully they'll bring back Hidden Stage and couple of good additions on the Friday which I agree is relatively thin.

And for Thursday, I'm expecting some of the bands to double up and do Ciutat which could help with clashes.

I hope a lot of the Thursday bands will play Best Kept Secret, so I can do a multi festival clashfinder trying to optimize my festival week as I won't be around for the Ciutat shows. Knowing I would be able to see Amyl, Arab Strap and Voxtrot the week after, would make me far more relaxed

BKS line up tomorrow, hope there's some names that could be added to ciudad

Looking forward to the line up as I'm doing both Primavera and BKS. Hoping to have a few different headliners (like Massive Attack haha), although as a fanboy I wouldn't mind seeing PJ Harvey twice in a week.

I'm up to 30 acts now and loads more I need to check out. Please keep the names coming if anyone discovers anything that stands out!

Some I've added to my list over the past few days are: Lankum (modern Irish trad/folk), The Armed (noise rock), BADBADNOTGOOD (funky jazz - remind me a bit of Khruangbin in terms of vibe) and for electronic music Sofia Kourtesis and Barry Can't Swim.

Saw Lankum in a loaded Paradiso yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful, the combination of traditional folk and loud drones/noise made it somewhat like Mumford you! Black Emperor. Would be great to see them in the auditorium, but they're loud enough to rock any other podium as well.

One that hasn't been mentioned yet is "Live is Live" in Antwerp (aka...I'm stealing names from RW and pissing people off). It's very new (second year I think) and I haven't been there yet so I can't tell you if it's good or bad. But I'm considering to combine it with Midsummer Prog this year and go for just the Smashing Pumpkins day.

I did Live is live last year. Really liked it, old school festival - just six bands on main stage and a few small ones on a tiny stage. Easy to get there from Antwerp station, loads of hotels to choose from and great food options on the site. With only six bigger bands per day, you clearly need to pick the right day, but that Pumpkins day looks tempting.

I vaguely remember it being insanely priced. How much is your bungalow is you don't mind me asking?

I've just come back from Shiiine On at Butlins, so the prices in my head are artificially low right now 🙂

We paid 1.800 euro for the bungalow, so 225 euro p.p.

Not cheap obviously, but the luxury of having two bathrooms, real beds and a fridge to keep the beer (and breakfast) cool is worth it.

Recommendations from the bottom half of the line up?

There's only a handful of names I recognise - I'm checking out Obongjayar, who has a track with Little Simz, really enjoying it so far!

I recently discovered Model/Actriz, really good band. Also like Arab Strap, Tropical f**k Storm, The Last Dinner Party, Voxtrot and Brutus.
