  1. And if the big headliner who everybody is waiting for was Bruno Mars. Maybe he asked Festivals who he'll perform to announce him first. Maybe it's the reason why there is nothing announce for Pinkpop, Mad Cool, Main Square, Werchter Boutique...

NBT played pretty far down last time. Around 2pm in the afternoon. Don´t know if they gained in popularity in Belgium though.

They sold out Lotto Arena in a few days. I think they even may have sold out sportpaleis. They sold out 2 Ziggo in Amsterdam.

I don't understand why Royal Blood didn't get more recognition. Really good band in live and really good songwriting. And there is more variety in their last album (Waves is so a beautiful song).

In 2022, Sum 41 were the second band on the Main Stage on the Sunday. They had to play at Main Square on that day too where they sub for Twenty One Pilots. They changed last-minute and finished to open the Main Stage at noon on Friday instead. This time, with a bigger success and the farewell tour, they'll play higher for sure. I hope both Deus and Snow Patrol will play on the Barn. About Sunday, I can imagine Royal Blood pushed as sub but only because it's Foo Fighters behind them. Their last arena show in Antwerp wasn't soldout at all (in a 8k capacity), don't think they gain so much success in 2 years and there were some bad buzz about them a few months ago. But in 2017, Alt-J were sub for the Foo's and their shows at that time didn't get more success than Royal Blood, even if the hype was a bit higher if I remember right. And about Avril Lavigne, it would need really a strong co-headline with Dua Lipa to have her third imo.

    Thursday: TBA - TBA - TBA - TBA - TBA - TBA - TBA.
    Friday: Maneskin - TBA - Yungblud - Sum 41 - TBA - TBA - TBA.
Saturday: Dua Lipa - TBA - Avril Lavigne - Nothing But Thieves - TBA - TBA - TBA.
Sunday: Foo Fighters - Royal Blood - TBA - TBA - TBA - TBA - TBA.

I think Royal Blood will be co headliner(sub headliner) and it's the reason why there will be no indoor gig in Europe (apart Paris) for this Era.

Their last album is really great (good melody, riff, vocals, intensity) and eclectic.

A bit surprise NBT are not co headliner. Their gig in Antwerp sold out really quiclky.

  4. Royal Blood sold out in Olympia France in less than 3 days. Strange there is no others headlines indoor gig in Europe.

Maybe they have a good spot for Werchter and other festival and that their headline festival tour will be their European Headline tour.

Well they are good acts imo! But I dont think they are headliner material in the same way as Muse.

So who are the new big headliners (between 20 ans 40 years old) apart from these bands and Maneskin that everybody waiting for ?

  6. Why Nothing but Thieves and Royal Blood are considered like boring act. They've the Muse vibe who sold stadium.

If this band were born in 2000 they would have become really Big act and if Muse would have begin their carrer now I don't think they would have the story they have now.

Now Muse will not played during some times. I think this band Can take their place.

  7. I think Festivals will struggle more to find headliners.

The majority of actual headliners came from 2000 to 2010.

New act become big quiclky: Coldplay, Muse, Linkin Park, Arctic Monkeys

Band who became Big during 2000 2010: Foo Fighters, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, RHCP.

Since 2010 there's only Imagine dragons (We like or dislike) and maybe TOP and Maneskin now.

There is no other young band who became big for 10 years.

Bands like NBT or RB will never became as Big as them.

New Big act are only Pop and not rock.

The Big headliner become older and there will be more and more Space between their tour.

I don't know how the Festival will do in the future.

  8. About Green Day in Belgium Mike Dirnt management answer Facebook :  the summer tour date is only announced. Most places announced right now are the ones with the most membership that's the reason why. So Dm right away to get started!

More dates will be coming too

  9. Do you know why band prefer to tour in UK and US than in Europe.

Blink 182, Green Day, Fall out Boy will tour during spring and summer in US. Foo fighters have already announce UK and US tour but nothing in Europe (apart Helfest).

Even a band like Royal Blood will don't play an arena tour for their new album and will do only a few festivals in Europe.

Maybe the market in US is more interesting than in UE.

Wild theory I’m going to throw out there is that it could be a German Act, SOAD and RATM next year with Avenged Sevenfold, QOTSA  and Thirty Seconds To Mars headlining second due to the fest being a week later than usual so won’t be clashing with Primavera and Download: Looks like Download will change dates on the back of this so I’d imagine it’s RATM. I think Rock Am Ring may have changed dates as RATM may also already be booked for Primavera which is usually the same weekend at Rock Am further explaining the change in dates for Rock Am and possibly Download. I also think Rock Am Ring/Im Park will get SOAD therefore being the same weekend Download/Rock Am would be a pain for scheduling reasons. Wild speculation of course and could be debunked by the time Download announces dates Monday and they’re the same as Rock Am Ring but possible.

But Tom Morello said a few weeks they'll don't talk to reunite again https://www.nme.com/news/music/tom-morello-rage-against-the-machine-not-discussed-playing-cancelled-shows-3422217

I don't see RHCP coming 3 Summers in a row. They usually do 2 Summers in a row. I guess they'll do an arena tour somewhere... hopefully.

For 2024, maybe Rage Against The Machine + System Of A Down + a rock or German band?

But they need big headliner, this year there was more people on friday with Foo Fighters and next year there're will be not a lot of big act on tour for festival. It's the reason why I think RHCP is possible.

Gren day already played in 2022 (I think they'll play Hu&Su Festival).

I don't think Soad and RATM will ever tour again.

Maybe Blink 182 and a Big German band.

  12. Do you think that Stormzy is the first step to have more and more hip hop headliner and less pop rock headliner.

There is a lack of big young pop rock act apart from Maneskin (in the near future), twenty one pilot and Imagine Dragons.

Bands like Royal Blood, NBT, GvF will never have the popularity that Muse, RHCP, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Foo Fighters... have now.

People listen less and less pop rock and more and more Hip Hop, électro.
