As still kinda a student, I can assure you some of these are definitely still uni anthems. Oasis, Mr Brightside and Sugar are all still well loved. Alongside Welcome to the Black Parade

Could just be me frequenting the wrong places, don't think i've heard FOB or MCR more than a handful of times the entire time i've been here, Oasis and Mr. Brightside are obviously different but can't see anyone ever seeking them out as they're over played as it is

I'm 20 and have never heard of Joyner Lucas who is down as mainstage east sub. Pretty random booking - his spotify stats look decent enough but for that slot a much more prominent rapper could be booked ??

His last UK dates were 2 nights in 2019 at the electric ballroom....?

Heard of him but never listened to him, I know he's championed by Eminem but always thought of him as another Royce da 5'9 without any of the legacy that comes with it, would be the emptiest crowd a sub would ever see

    University anthems describes the other stage well I think;

Kasabians clubfoot, everything by Oasis, early Arctic Monkeys, 1975s Chocolate, Killers Mr Brightside, 21Ps Stressed Out, Paramores Hard Times, Fallout Boys Sugar were going down.

Can assure you, as a university student, these are no longer what people are calling anthems.

just posted this in the war on drugs thread

"also I understand TWOD's saxophonist plays on and/or tours with Sam Fender's new record"

can anyone who has seen Sam Fender live confirm this? might only be relevant to his new touring and sound

Don't know if he'll of added a second saxophonist now but Sam has always played with Johnny 'Blue Hat' on sax since pretty much the start of his career, Johnny and his newcastle shirt have become an iconic staple of a Fender gig so i'm not sure if he would change that.

On the flip side, and this surprised me a LOT, I'd forgotten that I actually quite like Blossoms. Not going to beat a trail to watch them, but would be a pleasant way to spend a sunny hour.

My opinion on them was massively changed after their Sefton Park gig, was so hungry for live music I snapped up tickets to that event so quickly and it ended up being a great time, they have some good sing-along anthems that would be perfect in the sun, but just like you I won't be seeking them out, will be happy enough to end up in the crowd for them though.

Everyday that goes by I am looking more and more likely to be at Bicep, Four Tet and Caribou. Hopefully Caribou subs one of them so i can do something else on Sunday

Caribou likely to be headlining The Park like he was in 2020, no? or was that headline slot just pure speculation in the first place

  7. Bicep have moved onto my 'must see' list but as they'll most likely headline a stage they may clash with someone higher up on that list. They've always been on my radar but never really given them a proper listen, Isles is a phenomenal album though and i've heard from friends how great they are live. Hopefully they've taken that Other headline against Macca, if not, they'll be great down on WH and hopefully i'll be able to catch them. Love this one, already picturing how amazing this will be live.

What a crazy first festival slot, i'd be pretty overwhelmed honestly

Has the pyramid been anyone else's first festival in recent years? Billie Eillish maybe?

Might be her second festival ever, not sure if she's played any more than this but she's definitely performed at iHeartRadio Festival in Vegas

Craft a set list. Most of his set will be Beatle songs, what do you want him to play?

Just based on what I've seen there's a lot of stuff between those Beatle songs that I have no interest in, The Beatles songs he plays are great but wouldn't want to spend my night standing through his solo material or Wings just to get to them when I could be belting the words to every song elsewhere, sure he'll put on one hell of a show it's just not for me.

  10. Most likely only Kendrick for me, played with the idea of seeing Macca too, only because the chance to see a Beatle doesn't come around very often (and maybe never again). Although i'm a fan of The Beatles, he fails to craft a setlist that interests me as i've not been gripped by any of his solo or Wings material. Shame i'm missing my one chance to experience someone as iconic as Macca but I know i'll enjoy myself more elsewhere.

Foals / Phoebe / Kendrick will hopefully be my headliners

Given Paak is about and was on the 2020 line-up is there any chance he isn't on this poster because Anderson.Paak & The Free Nationals is an absolute fucking nightmare for formatting and he is still there?

Silk Sonic would fit much more nicely on the poster, let's have Bruno fly over

  12. Anderson .Paak is the biggest loss for me, i'm sure he'll probably make it onto the final line-up but would of loved to have him announced today so I can comfortably start getting excited for him without risk of disappointment
